Are you from BC?????? Our politics are as messed up as they come. The Socreds are long gone; now called Liberals as they hijacked that party name. We have had a raid on our legislature connected to drug dealing, organized crime and money laundering but are still not getting any real facts. Our premier get arrested for drunk driving and tries to sell off all our assets as fast as he can to his rich American friends. geesh.

The greens are not that popular here and Campbell is THAT unpopular that he will not get in again. He has had more scandals that any other starting with his drunk driving in Hawaii

They do not have any excuse anymore so than the Palestinians do. Why do we continue to bring it up regarding Israel's humanitarian violations; Because the USA keeps protecting them, militarily supporting them, financially supporting them. By condoning their actions we keep the abuses going and the middle east in turmoil. Neither side has the right to target innocent citizens but we are seen protecting Israel despite the wrongs they are committing. Until we tell it like it is and recognize that Israel is being aggressive and unfairly subsidized and protected by the USA; peace will not have a chance.

Agreed; but not this system nor this route with all its tunnelling. There is an Arbutus corridor that comes with a rail line that gives a clear and easy path for rapid transit. It is far away from any houses so less disruption to homes and businesses. It would be much cheaper. We do not need to build the largely underground system. Whgo wants to ride around in a tunnel? Much more dangerous and would not interest tourist who do like to ride skytrain asd see our city. Can't see much underground. More prone to attack or disasterous air quality accidents.

More of Campbell's bs lies. Why is our government sending jobs offshore. Buying in Canada would have much of the money that we are spending on these ships returned to government coffers through taxation. Plus we would have recieved some funding from the federal government for building in Canada. IInstead we will be paying the feds import duties.

I think it was a big deal for the air controllers. They did a great job with all that extra planes to land. They did a fantastic job during a very stressful time. The people in the communities were very helpful and fed and put up strangers. What is irritating is how quickly many American's forget what a difficult job these air controllers did.

Then the raid on the legislature; one ministerial aide that we are still paying; time to come clean and give us the facts, Health care has gone downhill; seniors prescriptions have gone skyword; children's ministries decimated; yet a loan to Campbell's wife's cousin for millions is forgiven. (why this crook was hired in the first place????) All the other assets of this province he has sold off ( excuse long long term lease) to foreign interests. The Ferry system transforms into a private company that doesn't have to answer to the people or use Canadian labour . Despite these sell offs; he has greatly increased the deficit.

We don't need more minimum wage jobs that one cannot live on. Having a job that will pay for all the increased costs today in BC. Higher gasoline prices, higher medical premiums, higher prescription costs for seniors, higher pst. Campbell sold off our BC assets to his rich American friends. Nick Geer made ICBC an effective money making operation so he gets fired!!!?????. Despite all that Campbell has sold off; we are further in debt. He even allowed more casinos to open making us little Los Vegas.

Submarines can watch without being seen; they can be useful in detecting boats smuggling drugs or people into outr shorelines. Easier to watch without being detected. However, I would not trust these used submarines for the safety of our navy. Whose idea was it to buy used submarines without an iron clad guarantee of their condition?????

What is the big deal about one by election. The real answer comes in May. How many people will be bought off by the crumbs Campbell is tossing out now. I am not crazy about the NDP either; we need a party in BC that is more towards the center. The Liberals give all our money and attention to the rich; the NDP give it to the poor including bums and lazy people who think the world owes them a living. We need a little more balance and give the working stiff a break.

It is time that natives take some responsibility for their own actions. Throwing more money at them will not solve their problems. We have to quit treating them like helpless children that require our support. They can and many do stand on their own two feet and lead productive useful lives. As for the women murdered in BC; they were prostitutes and drug users and put themselves at risk, It is not our responsibility; it was theirs.

It worked so it was appropriate and nipped the problem before it grew. How can you argue with success. The USA does the same on a much larger scale today.

What have the Liberals done; the rich have got richer and the middle earner working man is paying the bills. The wages are going in the pockets of the owners and the rest of us are still paying even higher prices. Hospital workers were replaced by minimum wage workers and we can't get medical treatment. Buying Ferries in BC would return tax money to the province plus we would be recieving money from the Feds for building Canadian; instead BC will be paying an extra import tax. Is this a good deal for BC. Not likely. At least they should have taken the bid from Washington shipyards to show where this foreign purchase will save all this money.

He better stay true to his word; I will lose all respect for him if he does become a conservative again. That was another example of ethnic manipulation to secure the riding. The same intelligence that claimed Iraq had WMD???? Why not; why wouldn't Muslim countries support them; especially now when Iraq was invaded using invalid and fraudulent excuses. Iraq WAS cooperating with UN weapons inspectors but the USA invaded anyhow. The USA vetoes any resolution requiring Israel to take responsibility for its illegal actions against the Palestinians. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. I don't condone the terrorist actions but I do not condone Israel's actions either. Israel has killed many more Palestinians than the reverse. Many of them are innocent women children and civillians.
