"I just wanted to say I'm sorry to the nation. I am so sorry that the NDP is allowed to get away with ignoring our allies in Israel who are fighting on the front lines against terror every single day!"

Who needs international credability when you can support a geopolitically worthless (to Canada) 'ally" with a questionable track record.

By which metric? The Bryan Coefficient? Lets see, China (0% unionization) vs Canada (30%), who has a better standard of living I wonder? -

Why would he turn down a position at what is widely considered one the best institutions in the world? -

In general, he and his party's open disdain for workers, the environment, and science. I also view him as a coward as he won't give his honest opinion on social and health policies.

Ridiculous hyperbole. It's people like you who are at fault for the current situation. You prevent any form of rational discussion on the issue, and rabidly attack any proposed changes. The current system has never worked. The current system will never work. The current system is a failure in every measurable metric. It's decades past the time when we should have abandoned it for the system that has worked far better in the case of every single minority group subject to it, equality.

Chretien should have followed through with his white paper, things would be better for all parties involved.

We have to do something to get out of yet another structural deficit brought on us by the reckless economic experiments of the conservatives.

2012 US Presidential race polls
Battletoads replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It's now ticked up to 83.7%, likely due to favorable polls for Obama in key swing states. I'm feeling a real sense of desperation from republicans as of late, and its clear the efforts from the Romney campaign are, at this point, more attempts at rather than anything substantial. -
2012 US Presidential race polls
Battletoads replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Maybe it just changed, but I see a 98% chance of an Obama win in Michigan. -
Shocking. I'm shocked. Literally shocked. I mean, who would have thunk that the Con's reckless tax giveaways and gambling on natural resource prices would result in an unslayable deficit. Certainly not me.

As a British Columbian I'm rather confused, because, as I understand it, there are countless of unemployed miners in BC who would jump at such an opportunity. Even if there weren't I'm sure some of BC's tens of thousands of unemployed would been keen to take advantage of an opportunity to learn a skilled trade. Seems to me that the Cons are putting the interests of Chinese foreigner's ahead of those of British Columbian's and Canaidan's as a whole.

Anti Pipeline Teaching Materials in BC
Battletoads replied to socialist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Yes, and it's up to society to weight the risks versus benefits. The people of BC have resoundingly stated the benefits of such a pipeline, of which there are none, do not outweigh the risk of environmental catastrophe. The teachers of BC are right to explain why the people of BC have come to this conclusion. -
