  1. Israel is a pretty morally bankrupt country, surrounded by morally bankrupt countries. The right wing radicals scream how we should unwaveringly support them, despite their many atrocities. The left yells about the poor Palestinians and their plight, despite their many atrocities. Meanwhile I sit and wonder why we abandoned our position of neutrality.
  2. 'We fixed the economy. Unless we didn't, in which case its not our fault' -Canadian Cons
  3. I expect more of the reform nut jobs to come out of the wood work over the next four years. Hell I cna only pray James Lunney opens his mouth...
  4. queue a straw man from Derek in 3... 2... 1...
  5. How many land mine are there in Canada? None? Just more proof Harper wants to turn us into a interventionist nation.
  6. Unfortunately it's likely only a matter of time before the republicans push something like this trough.
  7. The cons are already flinging mud like children? Wish I could say I was surprised.
  8. http://www.scribd.com/fullscreen/78582788 200 pages of info complied on Romney, by McCain.
  9. - Some form of proportional representation - Expand public health service (ie dental services, ect) - Large list of tax policy chages - Look into shifting income taxes so as to tax disposable income - Ending all subsidies/tax breaks/giveaways for profitable resource based companies - Look into eliminating taxes on food stuffs, and other essential goods - Increased penalties for those responsible for financial crimes - More stringent environmental policies - End/block/limit the special rights of so called Natives by any legal means. - End tax exempt status of religious groups - Ensure religious law, such as sharia law, is superseded by Canadian law.
  10. Heads, pikes, walls... You've shattered my dreams.
  11. Not surprising that Harper the homophobe is trying to take backdoor approaches to push his agenda. I think we can all agree the mans too much of a coward to ever face an issue like this head on.
  12. Maybe. Joe Oliver could use someone to debate.
  13. Your saying it's impossible to be an expert on a topic with out being tied to foreign interests? Also, last I checked this was an environmental review. As in not a business review.
  14. I have no problem with it, The government of Alberta and the corporate interests involved just need to legally be on the line for any environmental damage, both immediate and long term. Not a big request, seeing as we have these super-safe never leak tankers. Oh, and I'm sure the pipeline could never leak either.
  15. Who said they shouldn't know anything about oil, business, or the environment?
  16. Tony decided to try and take on someone of his level of intellect, and failed. Go team conservative!
  17. Preference should be given to British Columbians, particularly experts who have no ties to foreign corporate/environmental interests. Citizens of other provinces of Canada can fill up any left over spaces.
  18. On January 1st, 2012 Electro-Motive Canada locked out workers for refusing to take a 55% pay cut, along with numerous other benefit reductions. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/tories-mum-on-lockout-at-plant-harper-used-to-tout-corporate-tax-cuts/article2291661/ This after the Canadian tax payer sunk millions of dollars into the Company. Ironically, back in 2008, Stephen Harper used the London plant to tout the Tories inane tax cuts and giveaways as a job creators and protectors. In true Con style these 'no string attached' giveaways have failed, and worse still the tax payer is now out millions of dollars with only a few 'mc jobs' to show for it. Seems the cons have no problem wasting money on their corporate friends, while the funding of healthcare and other essential services is on the table. PS: The real gem in this story comes from the Cons claim that they don't involve themselves in private labour disputes.
  19. Anyone claiming otherwise is likely a member of the con booster club. Canadians need another good does of the ideological insanity that is conservative governments, evidently the Mulroney fiasco wasn't enough.
  20. Maybe the next election cycle boomers will be smart enough to elect a competent government... Nope, couldn't say that with a strait face.
  21. Funny how there's hundreds of billions of dollars for F-35's, super prisons, draconian crime legislation, corporate tax cuts and welfare, but nothing for essential services.
  22. Nothing wrong with calling Peter Kunt what he is.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8YwJC_nBgw Wonder what would it would take for Harper do his own thinking.
  24. Equivalent logic.
