  1. This situation would not exist if Israel had followed through with driving the Arabs out of the region after the Six Day War. Now the Antisemitic UN condemns Israel for everything. At this point, I think it is quite obvious that no matter what the Jewish state does, it will be condemned. In an ideal world, granting the Arabs a Palestinian statehood would be an ideal solution, but I cannot help but to think the Arabs would still call for the destruction of Israel.
  2. By the way, in case it was missed, in a Major Free Speech Victory, a Federal Court Strikes Down a Law that Punishes Supporters of Israel Boycott A FEDERAL JUDGE on Tuesday ruled that a Kansas law designed to punish people who boycott Israel is an unconstitutional denial of free speech. The ruling is a significant victory for free speech rights because the global campaign to criminalize, or otherwise legally outlaw, the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement has been spreading rapidly in numerous political and academic centers in the U.S. This judicial decision definitively declares those efforts — when they manifest in the U.S. — to be a direct infringement of basic First Amendment rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. 3. BBC: Jersusalem is Israel's capital I commented on some thread last night of someone from the U.S. asking if Trump was all that bad for them. I tried to relate without prejudice. I assumed that much of the world's problems in communication/miscommunication deal with today's technology. However, today this announcement appears as though he may be setting up for some suicidal 'fuck you' before he possibly gets impeached. ?? I'm a bit surprised no one else here even mentioned it yet. What do you guys think?
  4. Reportedly, four Israeli soldiers are injured by an alleged explosive. In response, two Palestinians are killed in a tank shelling. Israel also carries out 18 air attacks (CBC Radio 1) On the matter of proportionality, Israel appears to surpass the Nazis who aimed for ten dead for one of their own. Is this not almost as sickening as the West's obsequiousness toward Israel?
  5. While Israel and its mouthpieces try to distract the big elephant in the room, by repeating ridiculous distracting arguments like: "They will not accept Israel as a Jewish State." - like anyone is obligated to do so - we are now decades into the Israeli occupation. The realization of a Palestinian State continues to move further away. Especially with the always increasing illegal settlers in the Palestinian territory, which are over 620,000 now. Despite the song and dance to the international community, Likud's official platform has been to never allow a Palestinian State and Netanyahu, in 2015, running for re-election, vowed that there would be no Palestinian state on his watch. Security is another excuse given for the foot dragging by Israel. Here is an article that looks at Israel's unwillingness to allow a Palestinian State: what explains Netanyahu’s opposition to Palestinian statehood? We can only find an answer to this question by widening the scope of our enquiry, and accepting the unpleasant but undeniable fact that opposition to Palestinian sovereignty is a position that has been shared by every single Israeli government, and remains so today, across the political spectrum.
  6. It's not a surprise that criticism of Israel and Zionism receives so much resistance. This is how it has always been. Whether it's in politics (see politicians who have lost their jobs), to the media (see media personal who have lost their jobs) and now we're seeing it here, on the internet, which is the newest platform for people to share their ideas. Usually, any debate on the problems with Israel and Zionism is met with empty screams of anti-semitism and other personal attacks. There is always an urgency to shut down the debate. On this forum, there are three posts that have been locked due to the usual characters engaging in personal attacks which have led to shutting down debate. These three threads happen to be about Israel: Zionism's influence over Western politics Israeli War Crimes Why is criticizm of Israel considered Anti-semitism? From the previous thread: This control is certainly true when it comes to the U.S. There are countless Israeli/Zionist lobby groups and agenda driven, so-called think tanks, backed by billionaires (Like Sheldon Adelson and Haim Saban) who are using their billions to control who gets to be a politician and what kind of ideas are acceptable to be discussed when it comes to foreign policy. The phenomenon now gathering around Bernie Sanders is much deeper and much wider and it has reached a critical mass that can no longer be purchased, silenced, intimidated, or corrupted by rich Zionists like Haim Saban or certified idiots like George Clooney --this grassroots foundation of a far more progressive politics informs the BDS movement and there is very little that Hillary Clinton, Haim Saban, or the New York Times can do to change that demographic fact in order to sustain in power the racist apartheid settler colony of Israel and enable it to continue to steal the rest of Palestine, murder more Palestinians, and systematically destabilize the Arab and Muslim world -- To learn how the Israeli lobby and Haim Saban in particular are ganging up against Congresswoman Edwards go here: mondoweiss.net/2016/04/donna-edwardss-campaign-unsettles-the-israel-lobby-inside-the-democratic-party/ To learn more specifically about Haim Saban's determination to defeat Congresswoman Edwards go here: https://theintercept...nd-senate-race/ To learn more about Congresswoman Edwards' own extraordinary story go here: http://www.thenation...to-change-that/
  7. Israel's toxic policies and deteriorating morality have reached the point where even current and former Israeli leaders are sharing their harsh criticism of where Israel is today. A day after Ya'alon resigned as defense minister and replaced with Lieberman, Ehud Barak made the following comments: 'there are no serious leaders left in the world who believe the Israeli government.' and Israel has been "infected by the seeds of fascism," And two weeks ago, Israel's military chief likened 'Revolting Trends' in Israeli Society to pre-Holocaust Germany: "If there's something that frightens me about Holocaust remembrance it's the recognition of the revolting processes that occurred in Europe in general, and particularly in Germany, back then – 70, 80 and 90 years ago – and finding signs of them here among us today in 2016." "There is nothing easier than hating the stranger, nothing easier than to stir fears and intimidate. There is nothing easier than to behave like an animal and to act sanctimoniously," he added. "On Holocaust Remembrance Day we ought to discuss our ability to uproot the seeds of intolerance, violence, self-destruction and moral deterioration," Golan said.
  8. Israel supports Al Qaeda, a terrorist organization, which was behind the 9/11 attack and several other attacks against the U.S. and other countries around the world. Treating their fighters is just one of the reports that is coming out in regards to their support. Other reports indicate that they are sharing information and intelligence with them. I wonder how Americans would feel if they knew that their ally is supporting Al Qaeda. Interview with the ex. Mossad chief
  9. Amnesty International asks four simple questions from war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu as he comes to Washington DC to encourage Americans to sacrifice their sons and daughters yet again for the cause of Zionist militarism: 1. Why is Israel taking Palestinian land? 2. Why is Israel undermining Gaza reconstruction? 3. Why is Israel arresting nonviolent Palestinian protesters? 4. Why does Israel oppose international accountability? Link
  10. Sodastream will be closing down its controversial factory, located in an illegal settlement in the West Bank. “SodaStream’s announcement … shows that the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement is increasingly capable of holding corporate criminals to account for their participation in Israeli apartheid and colonialism,” said Rafeef Ziadah, a spokesperson. “[The] BDS campaign pressure has forced retailers across Europe and North America to drop SodaStream, and the company’s share price has tumbled in recent months as our movement has caused increasing reputational damage to the SodaStream brand.” The BDS movement is one of the main engines of the non-violent Palestinian resistance against the brutal Zionist regime. This powerful and influential movement continues to gain momentum and will be a huge part of the inevitable, which is when Palestinians will experience freedom, human rights and self-determination.
  11. Sometimes frustrated politicians can get out of the salesman character and offer sobering and truthful assessment of issues. This is exactly what happened the other day when John Kerry blamed Israel for the problems with the peace process. Kerry walked committee members through the steps that had led to last week’s crisis in the talks – beginning with a decision by Israel to delay a promised release of 26 Palestinian prisoners who had been involved in past terrorist attacks, unless the negotiations continued beyond the April 29 end-date. Both sides worked toward a deal to make that happen, Kerry said. “A day went by. Day two went by. Day three went by. And then in the afternoon, when they were about to maybe get there, 700 settlement units were announced in Jerusalem and, poof, that was sort of the moment,” he said. Of course, now, the US is saying that Kerry blamed both sides in order not to anger donors and lobbyists in Washington too much. The current Israeli government has become its own worst enemy. Their arrogance and disconnect has resulted in more sympathy towards the Palestinian cause. More and more countries are distancing themselves from the Ultra-Zionist regime, which has done what it can to derail any progress in a just peace settlement with the Palestinians. Simply because any kind of negotiation and settlement would result in abandoning their decades long policy of having control over most of the area and to never allow a Palestinian State - Which happens to be part of the platform of the Likud party. Likud Party Charter states: a. “The Jordan river will be the permanent eastern border of the State of Israel.” b. “Jerusalem is the eternal, united capital of the State of Israel and only of Israel. The government will flatly reject Palestinian proposals to divide Jerusalem” c. “The Government of Israel flatly rejects the establishment of a Palestinian Arab state west of the Jordan river.” d. “The Jewish communities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza are the realization of Zionist values. Settlement of the land is a clear expression of the unassailable right of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel and constitutes an important asset in the defense of the vital interests of the State of Israel. The Likud will continue to strengthen and develop these communities and will prevent their uprooting.”
  12. I guess they weren't willing to spread it for free. In a campaign to improve its image abroad, the Israeli government plans to provide scholarships to hundreds of students at its seven universities in exchange for their making pro-Israel Facebook posts and tweets to foreign audiences. Link
  13. Baird breaks 46 years of Canadian and Western policy and decides to meet Israeli officials in the, internationally recognized, occupied East Jerusalem, further embarrassing Canada. Is Baird's action, the actions of a real diplomat? How far is this government willing to go in ruining Canada's image as a supporter of international law and human rights? When Foreign Minister John Baird crossed the Green Line this week to meet with Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni in the mostly Arab sector of east Jerusalem, he broke with 46 years of Canadian government and Western policy. But was it by accident or design? Under Canadian policy over East Jerusalem, the unilateral annexation by Israel is not recognized. “Since 1967, when Israel occupied the eastern parts of the city, it’s been our policy that Canadian officials not meet with Israeli officials in east Jerusalem,” said Michael Bell, a former Canadian ambassador to Israel and the Palestinian territories, as well as to Egypt and Jordan. “Our policy was part of a Western consensus,” he said. “The idea behind it was that such meetings would amount to de facto recognition of Israel’s claim to sovereignty over the area.” So why is the Harper government so eager to please the right wing, Zionist government of Israel? “My Prime Minister has praised Prime Minister [stephen] Harper and Foreign Minister [John] Baird on numerous occasions.” Everybody loves a poodle. Link
  14. Despite the great resistance by the ultra-nationalistic zionists, who have battled in every way possible to prevent the recognition of a real and legitimate Palestinian State, slowly but surely, things are changing. Google has now recognized the state of Palestine. Google is de facto recognizing a state of Palestine - at least on its local home page in the Palestinian territories. Google spokesman Nathan Tyler said Friday "We're changing the name 'Palestinian territories' to 'Palestine' across our products." He said Google consults with a number of sources and authorities when naming countries and is following the lead of several international organizations. The move comes after a UN decision last year upgrading the Palestinians' status to "non-member observer state." Link
  15. On March 6th it was reported that “Israeli forces have sprayed Palestinian homes in the village of Nabi Saleh with Skunk as a punishment for organizing weekly protests against the Apartheid Wall built on occupied land. Human rights watchdog B’Tselem published a showing Israel’s armoured tanker trucks fitted with “water canons” [spraying] the foul fluid.” It is reported that the Israeli forces also targeted all the houses of the village with the liquid formula. A B'Tselem report pointed out the effects of this 'Skunk' spray included causing environmental damage. B'Tselem has reported that this non-lethal weapon has been added to Israel's armoury for crowd control, even though the video shows clearly that it is also used against Palestinian-owned property.
  16. Another example of Israel's apartheid policy: Since 1994, when settler Baruch Goldstein massacred Moslem worshipers in the Tomb of the Patriarchs, the Israeli military has employed a "policy of separation" in Hebron. This is implemented primarily through severe restrictions on Palestinian movement in downtown Hebron, where most Israeli settlement outposts are located. Lately the military has further entrenched this policy by building a fence dividing a central street in half and only allowing Jews to use the paved side of the street while Palestinians must use a rough, unpaved passage.
  17. This image is breaking my heart. I am the father of a newborn child and I am so incredibly fortunate to be here. Why do I deserve to be here while a father or a mother has to go through this. We need to stop supporting Israel's aggression and start supporting justice and human rights. A Palestinian man from Al Zeitoun holding his one-year-old son, Omar Jihad Mashrawi, who died from his injuries, at Al Shifa Hospital, Gaza City, November 14, 2012. (photo: Anne Paq/Activestills.org) [edited: Although a Palestinian child was killed while playing soccer in Gaza, the photo was from the Syrian war and it has been removed] -- Here we go again. I. TIMELINE: ISRAEL’S LATEST ESCALATION IN GAZA THURSDAY, 8 NOVEMBER Following a two-week lull in violence, Israeli soldiers invade Gaza. In the resulting exchange of gunfire with Palestinian fighters, a twelve year-old boy is killed by an Israeli bullet while he plays soccer. Shortly afterwards, Palestinian fighters blow up a tunnel along the Gaza-Israel frontier, injuring one Israeli soldier. SATURDAY, 10 NOVEMBER An anti-tank missile fired by Palestinian fighters wounds four Israeli soldiers driving in a jeep along the Israel-Gaza boundary. An Israeli artillery shell lands in a soccer field in Gaza killing two children, aged sixteen and seventeen. Later, an Israeli tank fires a shell at a tent where mourners are gathered for a funeral, killing two more civilians and wounding more than two dozen others. SUNDAY, 11 NOVEMBER One Palestinian civilian is killed and dozens more are wounded in Israeli attacks. Four Israeli civilians are also injured as a result of projectiles launched from Gaza, according to the Israeli government. During an Israeli government cabinet meeting, Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz urges the government to “cut off the head of the snake… take out the leadership of Hamas in Gaza.” He also calls for a cutting off of water, food, electricity, and fuel shipments to Gaza’s 1.7 million people. MONDAY, 12 NOVEMBER Palestinian militant factions agree to a truce if Israel ends its attacks. WEDNESDAY, 14 NOVEMBER Israel breaks two days of calm by assassinating Ahmed Jabari, the head of Hamas' military wing. According to reports, at least eight other Palestinians are killed in Israeli attacks, including at least two children. Palestinian militant groups vow to respond. Link
  18. A third intifada is feared after several recent incidents. The incidents include Jewish settler violence, including shots fired, olive trees burnt and Palestinian villagers beaten. This was capped with a Palestinian dying after being tortured in the hands of Shin Bet, who denies the charges. Arafat Jaradat, a 29-year-old Palestinian detainee, died at the Shin Bet said that Jaradat was arrested last week on suspicion he hurled stones at an Israeli civilian during Operation. A statement issued by the Pillar of Defense. On Saturday, he fell ill and medics were unable to save him. Police launched an investigation. Jaradat's family was notified immediately after his death. Link Jaradat's body was dissected in the presence of a Palestinian pathologist, several family members and a legal team from the Palestinian Authority's Prisoner Affairs office. According to the institute, the autopsy revealed no external physical injuries other than those suffered during resuscitation attempts and a small bruise on the right side of the chest. The autopsy also did not find evidence of illness. "Two muscle bleedings were noted, one in the shoulder and one on the right side of the chest and on both elbows. "Two broken ribs on the right side were seen, which could be the result of the resuscitation attempts. These preliminary findings can't determine the cause of death," the forensic institute said. "At this stage, before the microscopic and toxicological tests have been finished, the cause of death can't be related to the autopsy's findings." Link
  19. was there really a surprise? when you have a nation that came to be through ethnic cleansing what do you expect? the following information is a reason why canadians and americans cannot identify with zionism. link Most of the Jewish public in Israel supports the establishment of an apartheid regime in Israel if it formally annexes the West Bank. A majority also explicitly favors discrimination against the state's Arab citizens, a survey shows. The majority of the Jewish public, 59 percent, wants preference for Jews over Arabs in admission to jobs in government ministries. Almost half the Jews, 49 percent, want the state to treat Jewish citizens better than Arab ones; 42 percent don't want to live in the same building with Arabs and 42 percent don't want their children in the same class with Arab children. 58% of jewish israelis accept that israel practices apartheid against arabs: Although the territories have not been annexed, most of the Jewish public (58 percent ) already believes Israel practices apartheid against Arabs. Only 31 percent think such a system is not in force here. Over a third (38 percent ) of the Jewish public wants Israel to annex the territories with settlements on them, while 48 percent object. this is why the world can no longer stay silent and watch. majority of the israeli culture has become morally sick and can no longer be trusted in doing the right thing. we're going to see another world movement, resembling apartheid south africa.
