Do you have your Dooritos?
ironstone replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You are kind of cherry picking here because you're describing the Covid period and ignoring Trump's record up to that point. Not perfect but life was more affordable then. Covid literally caught the entire world with it's pants down. Perhaps worst of all, you're ignoring who's been in charge for the last three and a half years. Kamala herself says bread is up 50% since the pandemic. Ground beef is up 50% since the pandemic. Under her watch, inflation hit a 40 year high. -

Nancy Pelosi once said, "pass the bill to find out what's in it". Now Kamala Harris is being encouraged by some Democrats to do the same thing with regards to disclosing her policies to Americans. https://thepostmillennial.com/dem-lawmakers-encourage-kamala-to-take-savvy-strategy-not-lay-out-policy-plans-until-after-shes-elected-report -

I think people shouldn't vote for her because she has a pretty long, bad record while in office. While her opponent also has his share of faults, he is the better choice between the two by far. Harris is promising to fix problems that have existed for three and a half years...in her administration. -

The Rise of the Cackling Dingus
ironstone replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I have repeatedly pointed out that the Democrats had a huge window of opportunity to secure the border when they controlled the Senate and the House. But when they had the chance, they chose to do nothing. Nobody has responded with a plausible answer yet. Progressives just pin all the blame on Republicans. It's obvious that Democrats want to keep the border open to illegals. It's laughable that Harris campaign ads now state she wants to add more border patrol agents if she wins in November. What has been stopping her from doing exactly that for the last three and a half years? (She is already in control..) -

Was Biden lying? Perhaps he merely misspoke?🙂 Notice that the interviewer (Erin Burnett of CNN) did not challenge Biden on his claim. -

It was a bad border bill. And again, I must point out that Democrats could have gotten it done when they controlled the House and the Senate. And maybe they could also have codified Roe when they had the chance? I have a feeling that most American progressives couldn't find Canada on a map. -
Republicans have given up on healthcare

Shouldn't they have gotten more of this sorted out when they controlled both the Senate and the House? -

People in the UK are being arrested for posting opinions on social media. But it appears that the heavy hand of justice seems to be applied more on one side than the other. And some still say there is no two tier justice over there.
