  1. That's the spirit there boy, and give those Americans the old chop, chop and let's see some more heads roll for their evil deeds in Iraq. You wanna get down and dirty boy? We can all play that game but let's keep in mind who wanted to go there first. I hope you have a strong stomach because other Americans have left because they couldn't even stand legitimate criticism.
  2. Oh yes, Conrad Black knew very well that he was had. And good for you for doing it. Another useless extreme rightie who we didn't want anyway after he decided to turn his back on his country. Look what it got him! Now if you would just move on your war criminals Bush and Cheney we would have some confidence in you and your failing American system.
  3. Of course most countries are going to look to the Us first because it's our closest market. But the whole point of this thread, which flies over everyone's head is that the Us is going to have some more wars and if we don't play war withe them we will be looking at more dirty tricks of the sort we saw with softwood lumber. Therefor it makes sense for Canadian industry to look further afielf for trading partners which won't try to play dirty tricks. As time goes on US manufacturing and production of all goods will become more and more unviable and they will also be asking for more breaks in cross border trade with Canada and all their trading partners. China has played it smart and even though the US is their biggest trading partner, the US trade deficit with China is huge and therefore China has the upper hand. China also has other trading partners and has maintained a position wherein it could fight back against the US effectively. For further evidence of the US being in dire straits look at the situation they have gotten themselves into with illegal aliens from Mexico. Nobody has a solution to the problem because it's a necessary problem. US agriculture alone is not viable without cheap Mexican labour and so they know that they can't send them back to Mexico or they would sink a quarter or more of their economy. In a nutshell, the American way is not working and for an understanding of why it's not working read Will Hutton's, A Declaration of Interdependence.
  4. He also seems to think that Pacific salmon live in the Fraser river. Duhhhh! And he thinks we prefer Atlantic salmon from fish farms. Duhhhhhhhhh! He must be either an American or a goofy Newfie because he doesn't sound like a herring choker to me. He sounds like he's just been caught choking the monkey too much.
  5. You're not very bright are you. Your losing argument on drinking water put it over the top for me pal.
  6. Nobody is trying to tell you what to do or trying to force you to do something. The whole idea is for businesses who trade with the US to start to wise up and look out for their interests especially and hence Canada's interests by trying to diversify to other trading partners. That way when the US wants us to sign on to another of their wars and we don't want to, the US punishment will be less effective. get it now silly boy? Or just start to play hardball with them on our oil but that takes more guts than Harper will ever have. Diversified trade will work and was shown to be effective for some companies after the last trade scuffle with the US because some manufacturers did look to more favourable places in Europe.
  7. Larry Craig style hypocrisy. Ted Haggart style hypocrisy.
  8. When he posts pictures of the pumps they use to pump water from Kelowna to Vancouver over the coast mountains then he deserves an answer. And not until.
  9. Number 7 could be direct from the US constitution with a change of words. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? and the second part is a good description of the extreme righ ideology of the US and it's wish to build border fences along it's borders to exclude workers it needs to do it menial labour for a dollar a day. Number 11 is extreme right ideology at it's finest. The abolishment of any social platforms. Number 12 expressly talks about war measures identical to measures taken in all the Ally countries during that war. Number 13 demanded the nationalization of all trusts but when it really meant was that assets be taken from the Jews and given to rich industrialists who were German. Number 14 is another measure taken during a war. And number 15 didn't happen and is a direct contradiction of #11. How pathetic it is of you to attempt to support Nazism by tryiing to say it was socially responsible to it's people! So you understand what socially responsible government even means?
  10. Whale oil beef hooked me boy! You get a licking and you're not even smart enough to stop flapping your gums. I'm embarrassed for you.
  11. The whole country is corrupt. But it is their choice because when you live amongst immorality and corruption it's going to pull everyone along with it. This ties in nicely with the Americans' acceptance of waterboarding and killing Iraqis for false justification and many other things which are happening in that country now.
  12. Fine, and we will see. But we know that the right doesn't like him and are having to hold their noses to even support him. They also most likely fear that he will have to team up with a moderate for a running mate because his support is more middle of the road and tending to be leftish. It's his best hope and the reason why he is the candidate in the first place. The US has moved away from the right and especially Bush. So much so that your name should be an embarrassment for you! And don't bother arguing that with me, just go ask some American conservatives.
  13. The only thing I would disagree with in that post is your demeanor. In fact you are right that others torture. Talk to your superiors and they will give you the official postion on torture which includes waterboarding. And try to settle down a little because we two can have some fun if you start being rational. Rational for you and your ilk of course because it's not going to be my rationality and that's where the fun comes in. Right now your hate combined with your military background is making you crazy.
  14. I wouldn't bother with you anymore but you said something that needs to be corrected and that is that Hitler was a socialist. He wasn't, he was an extreme right fascist. A little project for you and others of your ilk which will keep you off the streets for a while is to name me some Nazi policies which were socialist in nature. When you have finished I will prove you wrong by naming many policies which prove that Hitler and Nazism was extreme right. Now toddle off and get busy because I'm not going to play with you until you do.
  15. How ridiculous can you bozos get now?
  16. I would consider myself fortunate if some of your ilk did tune me out. You have said things you can't take back and so you are responsible for it. You don't seem to understand that your hatred of people who are down and out or down on their luck for many different reasons need to be helped. This is very consistent with the US mentality where they don't believe in universal healthcare or government assistance of any kind. It's conservatism at it's very worst and it's consistent with Harper's mentality. You seem to understand that Harper is bad but you don't yet understand that your rabid hate for others is really just rabid right conservatism. Ask any conservative. Look up the definition of conservative. Look up the definition of liberal. I'm only trying to help you understand but you're obviously not ready yet. You clearly have the makings of a extreme conservative and you were most likely a Preston Manning suppporter too. If not, you should have been because your ideology comes closest to his. You certainly don't display any soicalist traits or sociallly responsible conscience. Try to think about that for a while before you start wagging your toungue again at me.
  17. No that's right and not in most Canadian cities either. I said I didn't know about Toronto because I suspected that they would get water from lake Ontario but I do know about Vancouver and it is not recycled sewers. It is from a watershed which certainly could be contaminated by air pollution but that is not the issue here. I'm amazed at how Canadians will defend the poor irresponsible practices of the US when comparisons are made and I'm also amazed that Americans will defend those same practices becaus of their patriotism. As opposed to just admitting that they need to do better. In fact they are intent it seems in dragging Canada down the same wrong path they have taken. We are fortunate for sure to have relatively clean drinking water but that's no reason to need to support American foolishness which in most instances is motivated by their extreme capitalist greed. We in Canada can do better.
  18. As the US becomes more and more an outlaw country it is essential that Canada starts diversiying it's foreign trade practices to other countries and away from the US. We Canadians should all know how we have been blackmailed by the US on softwood lumber and on beef by the US. We need to be able to say no to their future wars without having to suffer financially. Chretien and Martin had at least a bit of will to fight back but Harper is totally in tune with US wars and will not even try to resist, mainly because of the loss of trade is not worth taking the moral high ground for him. The entire world is moving away from the US now and watching the declining US dollar versus the Euro is evidence that the US is in big trouble because of it's warring stance. A stance which is necessary for the US because it needs to lay claim of the resources of other countries simply because it can't pay for them any more. And Canada's dollar continues to follow the dismal decline of the USD because we are so closely linked with the US. When the US decides to go to war with either Iran or Venezuela for their oil, or whatever country they decide to bomb into submission, we need to be able to just say NO without suffering more trade sanctions. There was a small move perceivable when the US played hardball the last time but it's not enough. Canadian manufacturers and produceres for foreign markets are quite aware of the problem because they know that the will of the Canadian people can not be changed quickly by Harper to go along with US aggression, soon enough to avoid another financial catastrophe. It is now that we need to move away from the US quickly and into more European markets as well as Asian markets and free markets throughout the world. Obama and a Dem congress in the US will not make the situation any better and traditionally it should only make it worse if past practices are followed. And if we don't then we will be forced to follow and support the US wars and empire building and that could have very disasterous effects for Canada. Those oppressed by the US throughout the world will come to see Canada as just an extension of the US when US payback time comes.
  19. When you become more mature greenthumb you will become a conservative because you support the conservative ideology much more closely than you do the liberal. For now you will just defend what you think is your right to smoke pot. Good, I have too but it's not my priority in life. My guess is that you were a Reform party supporter because that party was made up of extreme lefties and extreme righties who were disenfranchised and confused. At the present time your ideology is too extreme to fit in with any of Canada's political parties.
  20. I did read part of it and it seemed to be relaying a correct version but it may not have. And there is a possibility that the information could have been changed as is known to happen with wikipedia for political purposes. However the point is that the words weren't even Ahmadinejad's to begin with because he was quoting another person (can't remember the person's name now) and the quote didn't even suggest that Israel be wiped from the map. It was just a demonization attempt and if you were interested in the truth you would find out and report back on the issue. You're not obviously because you are only interested in the demonization. Any other takers?
  21. In a sense you are correct but that's not what the issue is here. Water which makes it to the ocean evaporates up and forms clouds but the impurities are not evaporated up with the water. For the purpose of this discusison we can assume it's pure when it comes from the clouds. We are not talking about air pollution. I don't know where Toronto gets it's drinking water but I know that Vancouver's is not recycled waste water. Stop trying to dishonest.
  22. That's disgusting shady but it's indicative of the true American attitude and my purpose is served by coaxing it from you. It would be no more disgusting if I wished death or injury on Americans. I don't do that for any people but I do point out that people tend to strike back at US aggression in any way in which they are capable. Thank you shady. I don't play to people like you who are beyond having any conscience, I play to your audience.
  23. greenthumb wrote: You're not older than I am and you're not very mature either. You did indeed advocate taking children from their parents if the parents were unable to provide for them. I have grandchildren sonny. Screwing my way? More immaturity and extreme right ideology. My name doesn't say that people deserved to die but it does say that the US deserved to be hit in revenge for what they have done on the Arabian peninsula. Read Osama reasons given for the 9/11 attacks. And read my signature below. It's not a complicated concept but I understand how it makes some people feel uncomfortable. The reason they are feeling uncomfortable and irritated is because they know it is true but they expect loyalty from Canadians for their wars. Most Canadians understand that their wars cause blowback. Is any war different. But by all means keep up your silly ranting because you seem to be able to put your foot in your mouth every time you open it. Your crude comments about women who have children and are in most cases left by the man to fend for themselves is another example of your shallowness, your ignorance, and your immaturity. A true and perfect representative of the Harper mentality.
  24. In Canada we probably seldom drink recycled waste water because we usually have lots of water running to the ocean. In the US in many areas water is scarce and they need to reclcyle what is flushed down their toilets and hence the problem. Not to say that there may be a rare incidence of Canada recycling water. Just another example of the US being bankrupt morally, financially, and in resources which they have decided to not take care of adequately. Sadly Harper wants to lead Canada in the same direction.
  25. It's torture and it may or may not get an answer but the purpose served here is to show that Americans are morally bankrupt and so afraid of their enemies that they won't take the high road on the issue. Instead their government chooses to justify it in special cases only because they got caught using the technique. We can be pretty confident that it's used extensively in private along with other means of torture by Americans. Their government, by not outlawing it positively has put their stamp of approval on it. Unfortunately Canada's government has not been firmly against it either and that will ensure that both Americans and Canadians who are captured by the enemy will be treated accordingly. These rules of war do have a purpose.
