  1. It's getting a little off topic but didn't you hear of the US satellite pictures showing the Iraqis with thousands of tanks and a hundred thousand troops on the Saudi border being proven to be a US lie. No wonder you think I'm telling stories! It was the St. Petersburg Times which blew the whistle on the Bush 1 lies that time. Ask some of your conservative friends on the correct method for discrediting it or ask me because I don't mind helping you out.
  2. Welcome back to the discussion jbg. It was sort of bogging down and your opinion would be appreciated now.
  3. Well they didn't deserve it of course because it killed Iraqi children indiscriminately because of US political interests. Neither did they have anything coming but the US needed a war to break Saddam's hold on oil and the inevitable selling oil in Euros which the world is now doing anyway. Once again none of this is based on anything but US lies for their wars of aggression. And the US had it coming on 9/11 of course.
  4. This huge campaign going on with Fox news and it seems to me that Hillary could easily make up about 110 delegates by including Florida and Michigan. These rabid righties are doing their best to say Hillary doesn't have a chance and I just don't see it that way. Such is the stink which is American politics.
  5. I have no difficulty accepting any of those concepts shady. Although I will clarify my position and say that Saddam was set up by the US to invade Kuwait and the US played a major role in creating provocations against Iraq by Kuwait. Not to mention that the US lied to the Saudis that there was a huge Iraqi buildup of troops and tanks on it's border preparing for invasion of Saudi. The US was discovered to be lying about that too and a Russian civilian satellite revealed the lie. It was all a bunch of US lies to justify war just as it was a bunch of lies to justify the current Iraq war. Therefore the war was not justified because of Iraq's degree of evilness which paled in comparison to US friends on the Arabian peninsula. IN fact Iraq was the most progressive Arab country at the time and accepted all religions as well as having women working alongside men in high paying professional careers. People need to know that even though they may not like to hear it.
  6. Well now you have taken it to an entirely new level. And I respect your right to your opinion but I definitely stopped short of saying that Americans deserved to die on 9/11. I did draw a parallel with Dresden and ask if people thought those people deserved to die. It could also have been a parallel with the people who died under the bombing of London. I think your parallel is weak and right off the subject but I could have agreed if you said that Canada has it coming because of our participation in Afghanistan. We may also be able to agree that Britain had it coming on 7/7. But you want to take it to a new level and say that people deserved to die. I don't agree but you probably are just really mad right now and you're really not as unhuman as you appear to be.
  7. What have freedom fighters and personal attacks against me got to do with fighting in Darfur. If you want to wage a personal attack against me then start a thread and I'll complain to the moderators about you. Or if you want to know more about me then start a thread in the appropriate place and I will tell you more about me. And if you want to talk about religion being misguided then start a thread in the religion section and I will tell you why I agree with you. If you want to talk about 90% of US bombs being unguided and being dropped indiscrminately on Iraq then start a thread on US bombing tactics.
  8. Why don't you start a thread on legalizing prostitution if you think it's needed?
  9. I find it quite interesting capricorn that you made this post yesterday which was completely off topic and ended with a profane insult, yet all of a sudden you seem to need to take the high road. What are we to make of that when it appears you came here to this thread to talk about off topic issues? Would you propose that you just continue to do that and nobody answer you back? What makes this forum great for me is that the moderators don't seem to be US biased and on the US forums they are and it's difficult for them not to be because of their patriotism. This is one of the main reasons I started this thread which was derailed long ago.
  10. I certainly agree too if that is going to become policy on this forum. Since I joined there has been a great deal of off topic conversation going on in all the threads. And fair enough, I think it is the right move.
  11. And he's going down for it. One of the prostitutes said that he liked the dangerous sex games the most. And no shady, the US doesn't have a monopoly on evil and I've held Canada to blame right from the beginning. It would be nice to see some more Americans mature enough to accept their guilt.
  12. The US did not plan and carry out the attacks on 9/11. The US under the Bush regime certainly did use the attack to justify the attack on Iraq for Iraq's oil resources. In fact Bush and his lackeys needed to be persuaded that they needed to bomb Afghanistan first because they are on record as wanting to go straight to Iraq. WMD's in Iraq was just a justification for war that they thought would work and they said so. Forget the conspiracy theories, there is enough reality in the thing to show and demonstrate the evil of the US wars.
  13. Trying for a little damage control at the same time as a little Russia demonization. That's very American of you. http://archive.capecodonline.com/special/t...binladen17b.htm The US did indeed support Osama and Al Queda and you either have to be a liar or uninformed to say otherwise. The claim of Russian bombs being made to look like children's toys is one I would have to see proof of to believe. There is definitely a claim that American cluster bomblets resemble children's toys and many children died from picking them up.
  14. army guy wrote: No, you can't get out of it now. You said that you supported waterboarding if the recipients were what you refer to as 'scumbags'. Just be more careful what you say in the future because if you really are in command of others you can get yourself in some serious trouble with your country for your words. I somehow doubt you are who you say you are but that's quite beside the point.
  15. IED's are not a show of cowardice in my opinion. They are the means which the freedom fighters in Iraq have at their disposal. I would question bombing civilians from 30,000' would be closer to cowardice. And I think that most of the freedom fighters would be equal to the task if they had to go hand to hand with American military as long as they had the same fighting equipment. I think that is where the American cowardice would become apparent. There is really no reason to call the freedom fighters cowards other than it suits your biased views. I also have to wonder what motivated your brother. Was it boredom and a need to go kill people for excitement or was he motivated to fight for his country and honourable reasons such as that?
  16. I largely agree with what you say and it may even be 'worth' it for some. I don't know how much immorality should be overlooked to make it 'worth' it. Are the lives of the millions killed by US bombs worth it for you. That makes it not worth it for me. I also take exception with your claim that our society (societies because Canada needs to be included) is good. Strong- no doubt. Our society is good in many ways but when we take part in wars that are not just and good then that can't be overlooked so easily. In the case of the US it starts wars which are not just and good. Therefore I would consider your entire post quite well written and intelligent until you got to that part where you had to formulate some justification to back the statements and claims you had made. You failed in my opinion on that note to maintain your credibility. But thank you for conceding that the attacks were revenge attacks because they obviously were.
  17. They wouldn't even know what a Westerner was if the US wasn't there trying to pick their pockets. Read my signature again carefully this time. I would also suggest to you that the Afghanistan shepherds who say the first big US bombs dropped from a distance didn't even know they were bombs.
  18. Universal healthcare is one feature of Canada's brand of capitalism. Among other socially sound and responsible policies which the Canadian people defend fiercely. This is just the facts of the matter and it's not to say it's right or wrong at this point in time on this thread. The US simply opposes most of what Canada feels is sacred ground. Capitalism comes with a price which must be paid to the people of the country. The US doesn't believe that so you need to stop this silly approach you keep hitting on and accept it as fact. I understood right from the beginning that you would try to define the word 'capitalism' and that's why I short circuited it before you had a chance.
  19. Tell the righties that about Che Guevara. And rightly or wrongly, Al Queda is fighting American aggression on the Arabian peninsula. You may not believe it's an affront to them to have the infidel on their land but they do. So why do you think they fight? Why do you think they hit the US on 9/11. I never tire of hearing the novel ways in which it can be explained away as not revenge.
  20. Duhhhhhhhhh! Have a nice day.
  21. You have done no more than make it clear on which side your loyalty stands. But you do make reference to the Saudi government which is quite shameful in itself because you should know that the Saudi monarchy is the government and it is equivalent to a corrupt and cruel dictatorship. Much worse than the dictatorships the US condemns. Hugo would be a good comparion of a country's leader who is condemned by the US yet has been elected by a 2/3's majority of the people. Freedom fighters are by nature and by necessity, blood thirsty murderers. I'll give you that the right has never been mistaken on that fact but neither have I. We need to now get back to the main issue and that is whether or not the US had it coming because Osama's actions were revenge for the people of the Muslim persuasion in the ME countries in which the US has been meddling and in which the British empire meddled and murdered before them. This is pretty easy stuff pal!
  22. Yes dancer, I would be worried too if he was on my side of the fence. The only thing I forgot to ask is whether or not he considers his opinion to be consistent with the opinions of his buddies in the military.
  23. You have failed to tell me anything new other than you are in favour of torture. Other than suggesting that there are others under your command. So it seems that you have to believe one thing while hypocritically instructing those under your command to do the opposite? Is that correct? And btw, are you in the Canadian military or the US military. Be aware that if you are part of the Canadian military some of the things you say could be used againt you. Just so you understand that you need to stay above board on this because if I can use you as a public example elsewhere I will do just that. I would assume that you would consider that fair play. That doesn't mean you personally but you as a person in the military who is claiming to be in a position of authority and who publicly supports torture of prisoners.
  24. We both understand why the Liberals don't take a stand on the Conservatives don't we. I'm just being honest and I'm wondering if you can be too. The Liberals don't want a non-confidence motion unless if's at a time and on an issue which will be favourable to them. It's our system and we shouldn't try to fool each other on that. You seem to acknowledge that the Conservatives are lyiing on the environmental issues but you may think that the lies are entirely justified. I would think that the Cons know that many people are smart enough to figure it out but they are depending on their backers to be of the opinion that all the global warming hype is just nonsense. I'm pretty sure Harper thinks that. I think the sponsorship scandal is what did the Liberal in and I don't agree that it was many other things but I ackowledge that you could have a case there. To what are you referring?
  25. You really don't know? I would rather state is as differences in the two widely different forms of democracy but capitalism can still be used for the comparison. In a nutshell it's Canada's emphasis on social policies and platforms for our citizens while the US has little interest in same and expresses their disdain for our social policies very openly. Do you need to have that elaborated further for you? If so then begin with universal healthcare and ask some American conservatives. Don't try to argue the pro and con because that's not the issue, even though I would love to get into it with the Americans on a different thread. The issue is what we desire for our different democracies. (And please don't bother doing the 'republic' thing with me)
