So buy a GIC. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. You have no right to decide for me what risk I am willing to take in the markets. What is reckless and dangerous is adding idiotic taxes, why punish those who do look the future. Speculation doesn't take away a persons ability to invest.

Senior Tory Minister to be named judge?
Alta4ever replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So what? It might be nice to have some balance against all the plum posts given to liberals during their 13 years of rule. Are all liberals this arrogant, that they think only they are the best people for government jobs? -
Envoronmentalists Confound Again!
Alta4ever replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The only historical data they have is the last 30 years in their words it has "Today it's 20- to 25,000, a number that has either held steady over the last 20 years or has risen slightly. In Canada, the manager of wildlife resources for the Nunavut territory of Canada has found that the population there has increased by 25 percent." The rest of the data is guess work. Your artical is full of holes -
I wasn't the one the one proven wrong you were.

Why can't you people admit you were wrong or are you incapable? I'll repost the the artical again read it carefully. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...y/National/home

Envoronmentalists Confound Again!
Alta4ever replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How can they claim the population was down 60% in the 70's when they had only guesses of what the population was in the 50s and 60s.? I see holes in you artical. -
We'll see, I hope they get what they originally ask for before the libel suit was launched, otherwise go to court, there is no dirty laundry to be aired here anyway.

Envoronmentalists Confound Again!
Alta4ever replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Bold why, the scientist is speculating as well, he said he had no data from the 50s. The fact of the matter is that the population is up. -
Ya right....we need fewer taxes more. Sounds like you don't like investing.

RCMP saying the police force had wrapped up its probe and, in consultation with the office of the Ontario attorney general, determined the ”investigation disclosed no evidence to support a charge under the Criminal Code or under the Parliament of Canada Act.” Looks like the Liberals were wrong, I hope they get their butts handed to them in court over the libel issue. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...y/National/home

Envoronmentalists Confound Again!

I would love to see were the polar bears were living when the Vikings were farming in Greenland. -
And how do you per pose to tax speculation? Unless you are talking about capital gains, and there is already a tax there.

Nothing like the facts getting in the way of an enviornmentalist's agenda. -
Liberals and the admit in a sentence, never thought I'd see the day. Must have been a slow day at the Red Star, for a story like that. They must be running out of fabricated scandels.

Taxpayers are going to get whacked because the money will be coming out of cash flow. Lets think about this, you get 2000 dollars a month in income, you spend 300 of it in energy costs, the government slaps a 20% carbon tax on it. The rest is spent on living food, mortgage/rent, misc bills, with maybe 40 bucks left over at the end of the month. Now that same person has to $60 more a month, the pay cheque hasn't gone up where is the money going to come from? In that kind of tax bracket you get most of your taxes back at the end of the year, how is this going to be revenue neutral? For people on fixed income who pay next to nothing in taxes are going to be hit the hardest, as they won't get anything back anyway. This will just drive more households into poverty. For a party that is suppose to be so concerned with the down trodden, they sure like to push agendas that with push more people into poverty. The green movement wanted bio fuels we get them and the price of food goes through the roof, the green movement wants carbon taxes implemented, guess what it will end up doing. Refrigeration units require energy, food prep requires energy, added costs will be pushed onto the consumer, then having to pay more for heating won't help either. No matter how Dion sells it, its still the most idiotic policy he has come out with to date. gc1765 - Carbon is not pollution, without carbon life would not exist on this planet. The AGW movement is nothing but a rebranding of statism, the friendly fascism.

Wow there must be a disconect between your eyes and your brain, I never said anything about the future of the conservative party, just the future of Canada. BTW I do not campaign for the CPC I am a small c conservative not a Big C. After all the advice, I too would have done the same thing because of a few words uttered, "at virtually no cost''. At virtually no cost we could have a long gun registery and how much did that cost? And thanks for glossing over the first part of my post.

Wow......what outrage, I guess you had nothing to say about the problems with the Chinese toys at christmas because the government has no right to regulate what you can consume. What would your story have been if you had gotten very sick after eating spinage last summer.

Floods Destroy Homes: Insensitive Harper Does Nothing
Alta4ever replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I have one question for you, why are you building/buying property on a flood plain? Does the name not give away what it is, and what will eventually happen? At what point should you take responsibilty for your actions? This reminds me of when i was writing home and farm insurance I went to look at a house that a client was just building and wanted to insure. When I got there I noticed that accross the river there was an old barn with a waterline just about 1/4 of the way up the building. After seeing that I asked the owners why they were building in that location, and how often the river floods to that level. I was told the the veiw was worth it and the river only got that high once in the ten years they had been in the area. Now since insurance policies don't cover flood damage here should anyone on this board or anyone in Canada for that matter have to rebuild this couples home for them when they loose it? -
Wow look at the vocal interests on this board whine! Any government scandal tory or liberal was never found through this, it was people who came forward with information, not the press finding it through an access to information data base. Any wonder why the press never uses it? The fact is this government is doing what the people of Canada want and need, they are leading us into the future. They are not squabbling over coffee like the Ont. Liberal Gov. is. They are not dithering back and forth on issues like the last Liberal government, and they are not leaving new legislation to judges (Chretiens government), this Conservative Party Government under Harper is doing something no government has done in 30 years. They are leading our country on an ascending path to future greatness. That is something more then vocal interest (NDP) and the vested interests (Liberals) of this country who do not seem to be concerned with what is best for Canadians. Just the groups they represent with no regard to the future. The tide is turning!

There is no country in history that has been perfect and you can't expect that because people are not perfect, mistakes are made from time to time

RCMP raids Tory party headquarters
Alta4ever replied to Shakeyhands's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Good then it settled you've got nothing further to say until after the court proceedings -
Its very clearly laid out. Our Country is a society of people, the society was built on the the traditions and cultures of those people, that legacy was expanded on by the next generation so on and so forth up to present times. It is our history it is what defines us as a people as a culture and as a society. What Candians have accomplished as a nation is something to be proud of.

Where is the spin they will have to deny the claim, because I sure this will come out in the court proceedings.
