I think we have been their I have seen a lot of ads over the past couple of years. We need to start teaching real Canadian history in schools again, including the presigous history of our armed forces. Everyone knows we took vimy ridge but not why or what it really ment.

We Can't increase the number of troops in the feild thats the problem when I say feild 2500 troops, I mean that we can only logistically support that many, besides even if we called up reserves we would soon exhaust them as they would all be going on back to back rotations, which many are doing now. The problem is recruitment numbers, few seem to want to stand up and serve our country, they are just happy being entitled to their entitlements. We are in trouble when it is only possible mobile 2500 troops. This country is so use to living under the American defense umbrella that we have to cede all defense decisions to the Americans. We are unable to live up to NATO obligations, we are in trouble. The funniest thing is that the left and some of the moderate right love to hammer the Americans, but are unable to grasp the concept that they hate the very people that are providing the security behind their freedoms, lord knows we are now unable to do it for ourselves. There is a big difference between America and Russia, and I see alot of the Soviet era propaganda oozing out of what you say, but if we look at the two leaders one uses KGB style assination on his opponents in the media and one does not. One goes in and siezes television stations at gun point, one does not. You are very wrong in this. The US is very much seen as type of police force. The Americans are the ones who keep the sea lanes and air routes open. When there is a world issue, like the need for peace keeping, who is it that is expected to go first, it is always the US. Anytime the UN requires solders the US is expected to answer the call. The US picked up where England left off after the second world war. These two nations have been expected to "police" the world for the last 160 years. These are well know facts to any historian and I suggest you brush up on your modern history and leave your political preconceptions behind.

Trade embargos do nothing as their are always other countries willing to trade with the rouge nations.

The spending I am seeing is spending on infrastructure and replacing military equipment, two things the liberals let slide for many years. Not to mention the tax cuts as huge surpluses mean that we the people are being overtaxed.

IF you were really concerned about the enviornement and really wanted to do something you would only use the computer for necessary use, not wasting energy on forums and what not. You have fallen for a classic liberal feel good policy. Really the carbon tax will do nothing but add more tax dollars to government coffers. If you really wanted to do something you would limit your energy usage instead of expecting the government to solve the problem for you through taxation or cap and trade schemes that do nothing to stop usage, they just shift the burden responsiblity to someone else. So you can feel better about yourself while you sip away on that latte.

What ever happened to saving the enviornment. If you used less we would produce less.

Really to a lot of other people its fear mongering, there is no common sense in it as their is no difinitive proof. It is a faith, faith in the Gorical, and faith in the IPCC. Both of which are being picked apart day after day. In fact the IPCC report is based on unproven data from just 2, yes two papers. Where is the common sense in taking at face value to papers that haven't even been proven. Where is the common sense in blindly following someone who won't accept challenges to his ideas, won't debate the otherside, and uses false data to further their agendas?
