Three time loser , is Smitherman done forever ?
Muddy replied to Dog's topic in Local Politics in Canada
But ! But! You people don`t understand! He is a big shot Liberal who is entitled to govern! A billion E health boondoggle is not even worth mentioning when you belong to the elite.. -
Well said my friend. If only!

Because a law or charter is wrong ,that should not mean we should not revisit the law.

What should we have done with the Tamil ship?
Muddy replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I voted to process them. But with some changes to our laws. If one lie is told, send them back. No relationship can start with a lie. If refugees they are then so be it. But if they are to be refugees and head back to their home land a short time later bar the bloody door! They are not true refugees. They lied! The onus should be on them to prove their case. Not Canada`s to disprove.Liars should be bounced immediately. There are honest hard working people standing in line trying and yearning to get the chance to immigrate here. Why should they be put further behind by liars and sadly some criminals from the Tamil Tigers. -
We Canadians are not made of the same moral fiber and character as past generations who were not afraid to call a spade a spade. TREASON!. That is what the charge should be for those who would do treasonous acts against this country and you and I. Canadian citizenship should mean something special.Right now terrorism is conducted by those in the Islamic faith. Anyone who deny that have no credibility. The terrorists argue that they conduct their treason because of wars being conducted in the middle east. Why is it then that the majority of the terrorists are Saudi Arabia a very rich nation and Pakistan? Lets face facts Canadians! We are at war with extremists and all of us ,including our fellow Canadians who are of the Islamic faith must step forward and march shoulder to shoulder as Canadians. Tarek is a very brave man. We should do everything to encourage and give this chap the courage to soldier on with the truth that he so bravely espouses.

Back to the subject of this thread! Yes, I agree the Allen Rock is a coward. Other wise he would have rode to the fore and took responsibility for Houles infamous letter.

Harper's resolute on ending mission in Afghanistan
Muddy replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sadly, not much has changed for those soldiers that are disabled after doing their duty since the beginning of time.Every remembrance day we sometimes stop for a few minutes and swear we will not forget. But we do and have. For every freedom and democratic right that each generation enjoys was won on the battlefield in blood .This should be taught in our schools so that children will grow up knowing where their rights and responsibilities come from. No Virginia ,your rights were not granted to you by Santa,Teacher or Politician. It was the veteran. Lest we forget! -
Wild Bill that was a great post and analogy. Guys like us work hard to create and become independent ,but insurance costs can bankrupt us if we are high risk from vandals, punks ,thieves and other low life. Putting a beating on these thugs if you catch them should be a right and responsibility. A legal system does not punish miscreants who victimize us nor offer us compensation. Now if we had a justice system ,just might be a little more patient. But we don`t! We have a legal system.

Well none were killed. But if some property owner had knocked down some thug destroying his or her property and the thug knocked their noodle and died. Well it to was a right.

WOW Toronto PD going to have legal problem's
Muddy replied to msdogfood's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Journalists have a rights, but they have also responsibilities to not hinder the police from doing their duty. In the heat of a mob violence ,if you get to close you may get smucked ,WELL,that too is your right!. -
Amazing how many people have sympathy for masked thugs rights. I personally like having rights too. A right to property and freedom of movement from thugs. I also believe in responsibility. I have a right and a responsibility to protect your property and mine from forces who take no responsibility for their actions, but whine about their rights. Legal and peacefull protest are a right and any group that does so has a responsibility as citizens to try and stop those who will commit mayhem behind their skirts.

I am going to assume that the vast majority of Canadians are law abiding pretty good folk. What we do need is to stop telling people to NOT take the law into their own hands or they will be charged. Thugs destroying property or attacking the vulnerable must not be tolerated. We must emphasize our duty as citizens to keep law and order. To be a help to our police forces. Yes I said Force! Not service. We must re empower ourselves. The likes of Chief Blair,McGuinty and Mayor Miller are to politically correct and namby pamby to protect the good citizens. Thugs have ruled the night. Now the creeps are emboldened under the guise of public protests to ransack and pillage. To long have minority groups, Tamils, been allowed to block streets in Toronto and so called Native groups to get away with anarchy. We must empower Canadians to help our police Forces to keep the peace and protect the vulnerable.
-
Because we have a democracy and we have the right to elect our leaders to make these decisions. Right or wrong! We do not elect thugs to destroy your property and mine.
-
Who cares what cost other meeting were! I care about my streets and the violence here in this free country. Our freedom and democracy was undermined by a criminal element that would have just as likely as not attacked you or I if we had stood in their way of committing crimes. The right to legitimately protest was undermined this weekend. Put the blame where it belongs. On the thugs.
-
Point is well taken. I too thought the venue was in the wrong place. But that still does not justify thugs destroying public property, thats you and I, and private property of some poor sod who has their business destroyed and looted. So since it was in the wrong place still does not justify violence and does justify the police presence.
-
The thugs have justified the spending of millions on security. Imagine if the police had not prepared what the anarchists would have done and the physical response of the police if they had been so out numbered. The thugs shanghied the protests and of that there is no doubt. But why did the good citizens not help the police in apprehending the black clad thugs? If I was a youngster and was legitimately protesting I certainly hope I would have reacted on the side of police to these thugs.

3 parties reached deal on detainees docs
Muddy replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maybe we should stop taking prisoners! Thank goodness the allied countries press were on our side during WW2. War is cruel, mean and ugly and to win secrets must be kept close to the vest. I am sure that the NDP are just as concerned about our guys taken prisoner by the Taliban and their Geneva conventions. Oh! Wait, the Taliban only holds prisoners for a short while. Long enough to torture and chop off their heads. Even seven year old children are hung for spying. Like most Canadians ,we don`t give a fiddlers fart about Taliban prisoners and the rights Afganistan authorities give or don`t give. Screw them. Hmm! Thats what they do to little boys come to think of it when not throwing acid in little girls faces just for going to school. I don`t and I believe most Canadians just want our guys home with as few casualties as possible.I also don`t Layton and company could care less about Taliban prisoners. They only care about political opportunism. -
As an old soldier I still don`t believe in women being in combat. The General must show by example rules that he expects others to obey. Or he is no leader. Mean while he should have been fired for acidently discharging his fire arm on a previous occasion. A lowly soldier would have been crucified for such carelessness.

How much oil can you derive from a seal? Could harvesting seals for oil and other by products be economically realistic? If not lets get back to whales! Who needs them crapping all over the ocean. Until a reasonable alternative energy source is invented we must take risks to heat our homes, run our vehicles and fly our planes and yes make war.

Your right Moonbox! My generation let you down and sold out your inheritance. It all began long ,long ago. This guy named Trudeau took over the steering wheel of the good ship Canada. He spent worse than the drunken crew. But the difference was sailors stop spending when they run out of money and go back to the ship. Not Trudeau as his happy merry band of socialist. They spent and the youngsters of the day kept on voting for him. They thought the balloon would never burst. It did and still new generations keep yelling let government do it. It fell apart on my watch youngster so you can blame me.

A Different Take on the Afghan Detainee Issue
Muddy replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I sometimes wonder why our guys take prisoners! Run out of ammunition? It is a good thing we didn`t have this kind of scrutiny in WW2 or we would probably have lost to the AXIS powers. Bad things happen in fog of war . Especially when the other side does not wear a uniform. Mean while those condemning our Lads as war criminals ,how come I don`t hear you chastising the enemy as war criminals for how they treat prisoners ,military or civilian? Whoops! I forgot they torture then chop their heads off as infidels. No problem ! No prisoners! -
Yah get rid of the oil companies for sure. Lets get some horses back on the road. They are good products from horses, especially for the roses and when they get too old we can eat the suckers. Lets get the oil from whales to heat and light our homes and factories. What? Coal works good too. A little messy but heck whats a little smog. I mean how many people really died back in the fifties London? I think the old coal running train engines looked so neat compared to the diesels any way. Who needs oil any way. BP has a lot to answer for. They should be made to pay up for those who lost their lively hood, the clean up of the ecosystem and this should be done with as little time in court rooms as possible. The people effected by the Exxon Valdez have still not been compensated thanks to company lawyers.

Care for seniours is altimately a dead end job. If I have the strength I will blow my brains out before I ever go to a seniours home. My daughter was a personal care worker in a seniours home. She was fired because she thought rules should apply that were laid down by the province and blew the whistle. Her horror stories will make sure I die my way.Fast and quick ,maybe at the hands of a jelous lover!
