Did the Holocaust really happen?
AngusThermopyle replied to 1967100's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Spot on. It just tells me that these people don't have a clue as to what Aparthied really was. I lived in Port Elizabeth South Africa as a child. Even at an early age the effects and presence of Aparthied were readily observable. Believe me, Israel isn't even close to being an Aparthied state. -
Al Quaeda No 2. We Don't Kill Innocents

Dex. He was a soldier amongst soldiers. Try to think of all the most famous statesman warriors throughout history and this man will be able to stand tall amongst them.He won more orders of merit than I can remember. Wasn't he made a member of the order of the Knights Of Malta or something, Defender Of The Empire? This guy, a French Canadian, won more honours and served more capably than anyone else I know or have heard of. On the other side of the coin and not really related is Rudjard. Well sort of related. If Dex was a soldier amongst soldiers then Rudyard Kipling was a journalist amongst journalists. He was the first reporter to actually travel and live with soldiers. He became known as a soldier because of the fact that he travelled with them, he lived and fought with them, and he told their stories. All in all both fascinating men who lived lives that are the stuff of legends. -
We pay while Indians live in luxury

You're right. At this point its no more than mental masturbation. Still...did you forget this? It kinda looks like you were a willing contributer to this mental cycle, or should I say, circle, jerk. So. Would either of you care to address the last meaningfull post in any more than an obviously displayed juvenile manner? -

Why on earth would you do that? He's a good man, the best we've had in that position in many many years. He genuinely cares about the men. Oh, thats right, I forgot you despise all military members. Scratch the original question. -

Immigration Minister needs armed guards
AngusThermopyle replied to Right-Wing's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Ahhh! Now I see. So in effect I could be the source of potential Canadian gangs. Wow! Now I feel so special. -
Very astute observation. What I couldn't believe was the fact that it is women advocating this stuff. Men, well I could see their motivation, but women, come on. Thats just wrong on several levels.

Damn! That was fast. Too bad. There were a few questions I wanted to ask, now I wont get to. I was really curious about "potential immigrant gangs". I'd just really like to know what that means. Potential, so vague and meaningless in this context. -

Pretty much what I thought when I saw it. Put CR and DM together and you end up with an intellectual powerhouse that cant be matched. -

Oh good, more pointless drivel. -
Actually I agree with that. What I don't agree with is the part where you said that if he is unwilling to be a part of the childs life. Probably misinterpreted by myself as it was a rather ambiguous statement and didn't specify factors such as access.

Since I don't believe in any mysterious all powerfull higher power I just avoid the subject alltogether.

Al Quaeda No 2. We Don't Kill Innocents
AngusThermopyle replied to AngusThermopyle's topic in The Rest of the World
Okay, now I see what you mean. Well don't count me amongst those who would welcome him. In these matters I tend to be a bit draconian myself. My solution to the problem this man poses runs along the same lines as Stalins favourite method. One quick, cheap bullet through the back of the head and the problem presented by this man is eliminated. Come to think of it, that would work well when dealing with Terrorists in general. Not just this No. 2 wanker. -

Good plan. We should make the playing field level, I think it would only do good for all involved. The sad reality is that many don't want that playing field to be level. On one hand we have those who don't want to concede anything and on the other other hand we have those who wish to give away everything. Then we have those who don't want to do anything other than demand more and more. As for the statement that all Indians are trouble makers, I disagree. As I've said before, I have good friends who are Native. These guys go to work, take care of their families and don't cause any trouble at all. There are some squeaky wheels, quite a few actually, but not all of them. You cant just equate all Natives with examples such as Shawn Brant, a definite squeaky wheel (I'm being nice, I wont actually call him what I think of him). -

For the most part we are in agreement except for a few points. They are re-equipping them now but it is very far from complete. For instance personal armour and small arms. This process is underway and Canada is playing a pretty large part in the process. The last issue of Legion magazine had a good article about how we are donating our old C-7's to them as we replace them with new ones. This is hardly state of the art equipment, though far superior to the AK's many of them now carry. It's pretty much the same in all area's of equipment. One thing most people forget is training. We are doing major work in this area, supplying the proper training to an armed force is a major undertaking and isn't accomplished overnight. We can expect that area of aid to drag on for quite some time. I would contend that the average Afghani did live in fear of the Taliban. It's well recorded by now how they utilized draconian and very final methods to keep the conquered citizenry in check. The average resident of Kabul is not a fighter, they're just people trying to survive. So when the goon squad showed up they had few options open to them, other than being killed by the aforementioned goon squad. One thing people either forget or don't know is that Guerrilla warfare techniques are capable of tying up much larger forces for extended periods of time. Given that they use a sort of modified form of Guerrilla warfare it doesn't surprise me at all that they are a persistent thorn in the side of the Afghani government, and at this particular time, the NATO coalition. -

I wouldn't exactly say they "allowed" them to stay in power. I would say they were helpless under fear of death to do anything to remove them. There is a difference between the two. -
Actually I don't know what Warbike meant. The only thing I know for sure is what I meant, which would be Militant/Radical types. Don't really care if they're Muslim, Christian, Native, or whatever. My belief is that they should be dealt with in a harsh and non-compromising manner. Some good points in the above. Logically if they're militant then by definition they are a threat. I suppose you could say they are unique in that most people are not militant, however its a uniqueness I'm sure we could all live without. In this case I'd say sure, there are Christian organizations doing similar things. The big difference being that Militant/Radical Muslims see terrorist tactics as a legitimate form of enforcing their beliefs. I don't know of any Christian groups who want world domination through violence if necessary.
