  1. Okay, I'll give you that one, Crystal and brethren do pose a huge threat to Al Quaeda, and yes, the Cole was a military target. Other than those I can't think of any other targets they've hit that are of a strategic or military nature. What I find interesting is the idea that this inbred ignorant savage probably does believe what he is saying. Such is the conviction of the fanatic, they can rationalize their behaviour by claiming things that are obviously self serving lies.
  2. Actually that is a good question, albeit one that lacks a conclusive answer. It has been my experience that you will never find one party that answers all of the needs of particular individuals. Given that factor I generally look for the party with the strongest leadership that will address the majority of my desires. Given those factors I don't vote any way in particular based on doctrine. Instead I vote based on the above factors and am not opposed to voting for the most suitable party.
  3. This is rather interesting. He claims that Al Quaeda do not kill innocents and if any die it is because the agencies being attacked are using them as human shields. I suppose from his point of view he's speaking honestly, but when you consider that his point of view is probably coloured by fanaticism and hatred honesty becomes a rather moot point. www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/04/03/zawahiri.message/index.html?eref=rss_world
  4. I agree with pretty much everything you've said except for the above. Its pretty much a given that sooner or later somethings gotta give. With enough time and enough illegal activity people in general will reach that breaking point. What will happen then is anybodies guess, I cant say. I don't think it'll be pretty when it does though, history has shown us that time and time again.
  5. On this we agree. I have nothing against immigration so long as those who immigrate wish to contribute and live in harmony with other Canadians. The only time I perceive a problem is when faced with those who would freeload and contribute nothing. That being the case I don't give a damn what colour their skin is, a bum is a bum is a bum, so to speak. Actually for my own selfish reasons I approve of sensible, controlled immigration. I love women, so if I'm given the opportunity to enjoy the company of a greater variety of them then I'm all for that.
  6. What I find really interesting (and somewhat ironic) about this whole topic is the fact that the German people have acknowledged the Holocaust and what happened. Yet there are those who would doubt it even when confirmed by the perpetrators themselves. It could be the result of ignorance of the subject or just general obnoxious behaviour.
  7. I asked the same question except I asked about threats as well. No one seems to want to answer it though.
  8. Well just as I thought. Another none answer that does not address anything. Okay, run along now, you've affirmed my point and are no longer needed.
  9. Okay, now I see the point you're making. It would have made more sense if you'd stuck a "what if" in there, such as, what if you could be imprisoned for the 12 pack of beer... I'm not arguing with you, I agree that our laws relating to Cannabis use and possesion are absolutely ridiculous. Many times in the past I've wondered why a far more harmfull drug like alcohol is accepted when one that is far more benign like Cannabis is illegal. I remember reading quite some time ago that the prohibition was enacted due to economic reasons. As to the truth of what I read I really cant say, it did make a lot of sense though. So yes, I agree. I think we should scrap those ridiculous laws altogether. Of course you'll get those who argue that it causes crime etc. What actually causes crime is the actual enactment of prohibition itself. Thats just my personal opinion though.
  10. In response to this I have only one thing to say. What the hell are you talking about?
  11. Now thats interesting. I'm curious, just exactly when has our government used the police and military to oppress and "bear on people the hardest"?
  12. The Legion does pay respect to those who have given there lives. Are you a member of a Legion? If not you should try it, you might learn a lot more than you would suspect. Also you should learn the history of lowering the flag to half mast, then you would understand their reasons. Until then all you can do is speculate.
  13. Nope, not me, I would never deny that, Christians can be dicks and assholes too.
  14. Oh come on Dancer, you made that up! No one in their right mind would mix coke with Chivas! Straight up or on the rocks.
  15. Why should private companies be subject to the scrutiny of politicians? Why should the secret discussions of CEO's be made public? They are not funded by us (well mostly not). If what you want were to happen then in all fairness you and I would be subject to the same degree of intrusion into our affairs. Perhaps you don't mind your private life being broadcast across the nation but personally I like to keep my personal life to myself.
  16. Well sorta, I don't recall any reports of Christians putting a death sentence on the head of the author though. Does any one know if he received any death threats?
  17. This statement is a little unfair in my opinion. Since being a member of this Forum I've observed that its usually those who lean left who desire more government control of our lives and actions. In fact there are numerous examples where they advocate more control over our thoughts and words as well.
  18. Well, thats all rather strange to say the least. It was my impression that they usually rush to release the names, I may be wrong but it is the impression I had. Does it look to anyone else like the Liberal party is more deserving of the name Clown School with each passing day, or is it just me and my rather jaded view of life?
  19. I once worked part time as a bouncer when I was younger, needed the extra cash as a newly wed, the hours were flexible. I cant speak for all places but we were forbidden to strike customers under any circumstances. Restrain them yes, escort them (sometimes forcefully) yes, but never never strike a customer.
  20. Haha, I love that one! Classic, simply classic. Outrage without a concrete cause. Don't bother to see what you're outraged about, just flip the outrage switch and off you go. Yes, these people just serve to show how outrageously peacefull Islam truly is.
  21. My oh my, two posts to address. First, the cutbacks are nothing new, they began with a vengeance during Trudeau's first term as Prime Minister. Previously cut backs had occured but Trudeau with his well known loathing of the CAF really got the ball rolling. As for little children. It appears the attitude is help little children elswhere and screw Canadian kids because after all they are just Canadian kids of serving members, and who gives a shit about those who serve Canada. Sure, the kids aren't starving, I guess in your mind that justifies depriving them of a parent for a year at a time with the strong possibility of them not coming home at all. Nice, just backs up what I said about Canadians not giving a shit about those who serve them. Not our war, well if you believe in isolationism then I guess you're right. If you believe Al Quaeda and the Taliban are just a bunch of peachy keen people to have around then I guess you're right. If you believe that these groups being complicite in and directly involved in the killing of Canadians and our friends is no big deal then I guess you're right. Personally I don't believe these things so in my view you're wrong.
  22. Not sure where you're going with this one. Leon Klinghoffer was a passenger on board the Achille Lauro (sp?) with his wife. I think it was in 85. Palestinians seized the ship and shot Klinghoffer in the chest and head then forced crew members to dump the body and wheelchair overboard. Unless the Palestinians are recruiting Christian cops from Florida as cohorts I don't see the point you are making.
  23. Hmmm, lets see. Could it be because for many many years Canadians have not seen the need to spend money on the Forces, preferring to pump billions into many many social programs of a highly dubious nature? Or could it be because successive Governments have seen the Armed Forces as an ideal target for cut backs and downsizing? Maybe those factors have some bearing on the current situation. As for NATO, well they are contributing. In fact I have a breakdown of all NATO troops in Afghanistan in a recent issue of Legion Magazine. I'll see if I can find it for you. No shit Sherlock, do you wonder why? Obviously you have no idea as to what it is like to serve in such a theater for any length of time or you wouldn't even entertain such a notion. Not only does it exact a toll due to the stress of living such a life, it also compounds that stress through isolation from family members and all that is familiar. Add to that the fact that Canadians generally don't give a flying f*ck about the well being of our people upon their return and you may just start to understand why members do not relish the idea of 12 month tours.
  24. So, lets see, in another thread you stated that I said only Natives play bingo. When I asked you to show me where I said this the silence was deafening. Now you accuse me of being a crook, care to show some proof of this allegation? Thought not. In other words once again you are just spouting off your usual bullshit without any connection to reality. It would appear, since you are a proponent of the something for nothing mentality, that you are the one who is deserving of the "crook" moniker. However thats beside the point, I merely thought that your childish lowbrow insulting garbage should be addressed. As you appear to be severely cognitively challenged I will repeat what I have said many times before. I believe the whole claims issue should be settled in as fair and swift a manner as possible. This does not mean giving everything that is demanded without question, much as you would probably like to see. It means that a solution should be found that meets the needs and requirements of both Natives and Canadians. Once that has happened all ties should be cut and these "sovereign" nations should fend for themselves. Personally I have no desire to see Natives dependent on the greater bulk of society for perpetuity. Far more preferable would be seeing Natives in control of their own destinies. Other issues need to be dealt with and settled, the whole residential school question should be settled once and for all, actually that process is well under way now. As for propaganda, take a good hard look in the mirror. Most of the propaganda and even outright lies that I see are coming from the Native community and their supporters. In fact one of these supporters who posts on this forum actually slipped so far into dementia that they stated Natives had invented the whell but didn't use it because they saw no practical utility in it. Obviously this statement is so farcical that it doesn't even warrant a serious answer. Now, back to your somewhat less than insight full posts. Could you show me what I said about Natives and Bingo? Could you show me some proof that I am a crook? Can you show me some citation to prove your allegation that all news reports are slanted against Natives? An answer to these questions would be appreciated, if none is forthcoming then you merely confirm what most posters with an IQ larger than my shoe size already know, that your information comes from an area most people reserve for the expulsion of solid waste from their bodies.
  25. Not sure if I can agree with you there guyser. Since I came out to Alberta it seems that all I've heard about is hockey related trouble. Things such as fans trashing entire downtown streets and so on. Then there's the whole issue of the totally disgracefull practice of booing National Anthems, thats one thing that for damn sure didn't happen in the past.
