Boy forced to undergo chemotherapy
AngusThermopyle replied to gc1765's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
No, remainder of quote deleted because you have no answer. Thank you, even though you don't have the integrity to answer anything or provide facts your childish response once again merely served to affirm what was said. So very very predictable. As usual no sources, no figures to back you up. Just denial and the repetition of the same racist bullshit you always spout. As a side note. Its interesting to see that this child is no more to you than a chance to further your agenda. In my opinion this childs wellfaire far outstrips the importance (or lack thereof) of your agenda. Oh yes. You're the one who claims alternative cures for cancer, don't tell me to do the research. You made the claim, now back it up if you can. Nah, that would be too hard, just tell some more lies instead. -

Couldn't resist playing the race card could you. Then you back up your allegation in your usual fashion, pure opinion as shown by the use of "I suppose" and "probably", SOP I "guess". You have absolutely no proof to form the basis of your claim that it would have taken longer or it's just because they are Native. You have no idea of what process was followed yet you automatically declare it illegal. Then you downgrade the entire issue by declaring that McMaster has some sort of grudge against these parents. Given the fact that more than a few times in the past the state has intervened in similar manner when it concerned white people your entire premise is reduced to exactly what it is, non factual supposition with a heavy inate bias toward the negative. As for alternate less intrusive methods for treating cancer. Well how bout you enlighten us and back it up with hard and fast success rates, figures, not opinion. From what I know, admitedly not everything, far from it, the current methods are effective and becoming more so. There is no magic herbal cure for cancer and this issue is not racially based. -

Yeah, fine grasp of tradition. Thats why an old white guy in town here makes their ceremonial drums for them. They don't know how. A truly impressive grasp of tradition. -

So you consider lieing and deceiving or misrepresenting to be "out doing" someone? Thats pretty twisted. So far you have not contributed one point with any merit to this discussion, all you've done is insult in a very juvenile manner. Then when caught lieing you claim to have "out done". You truly have a twisted sense of reality. Now like I said earlier, run along, you're done here now. -

Yeah yeah, thats nice. Nice attempt to sidestep the issue as well, not. Quote mining, the same thing as lieing. Run along now, you have nothing left to say thats worth hearing. -

Ahhh, I see what you're doing. You're quote mining. This is a common and deceptive practise used by those with nothing to say. In quote mining something that has been said is quoted out of context in order to make a point. The point however is not accurate as to what was actually said. As I mentioned, it is a very dishonest tactic, many consider it to be worse than outright lieing. So, why didn't you quote the entirety of what I said? Oh, thats right, you appear to think it's fun to lie and deceive. So congratulations, you have just shown all present exactly how low you will go and how deceitfull you are. You have just stripped yourself of any shred of credibility you thought you had.You should be proud of youreself. -
Darn tootin! You bet! It would also be nice if we could all have lollipops and sunshine forever. Unfortunatly many of these people just dont strike me as the lollipops and sunshine kind. Given that the different factions exist in the middle east and not Willy Wonkas Chocolate Factory it would appear to be very doubtfull that they would have just said "well howdy, you guys just mosey on in here".

Canada - You Have a Country You Should be Proud Of!
AngusThermopyle replied to jbg's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't know which Quebec you lived in but it cant be the same one I lived in. Rather than fabricate points to support your argument you should try the truth, it can be refreshing. The fact that the entire structure of the "language laws" blows your contention out of the water is probably lost on you. -

I was going to answer this but its friday night and I just cant be bothered. Its been a long week . -
I must have missed the lesson, I don't have a clue who she is.

In my opinion the answer to this question would be yes and no. It is better if the enemy is actually sincere about extracting positive results from such talks. However if the enemy is not sincere and the desired results are negative then talking is just foolish. In this case I have my doubts as to the sincerity of certain involved parties. especially since, as has been mentioned, one of the parties appears to view these talks as an opportunity to regroup and prepare before the next onslaught. Given that I must fall back on an answer of yes or no. If all parties are sincere then obviously a yes.

Deaths of Aboriginal Children
AngusThermopyle replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Very true Bill. As I said, I've bought them before myself, always with the understanding that I wasn't supposed to. Orillia was the place I'd go to, along the stretch of road that runs by the casino. And yes, the guy who ran the shop I went to was a nice guy, we had something in common, he had a beautifull Bass boat. Over the years we became closer to the point where we'd sometimes go fishing together (beautifull boat). It was always clear to both of us as to the legal disposition of cigarette sales, but as you said it was lucrative and also gave a break to non Native smokers, I for one am all for it on a personal level. However the law doesn't accommodate personal desires. This is why when I hear ridiculous statements such as Natives don't break the law I have to comment. Of course a certain fabricator of reality will probably loudly proclaim that my friend was a token. They would probably also loudly proclaim that my girlfriend's beautifull little half native girl is just a token as well. The fact that I adore this little jewel will be swept aside and she'll be proclaimed as some sort of trophy. Such is the blind fanaticism of the zealot. It has been mentioned before that reality is whatever you imagine it to be (its not, sane people realize this). Given this mind set it becomes quite obvious as to how upholding the law could be called stealing. -
Pointing out hypocrisy is not trolling. And he's right, you do toss around insults and condescending behaviour on a regular basis.

Wow, you're actually right about this, for once. Yes, Canada and Canadians are making concerted effective efforts to address these injustices, far more so than other nations would be willing to do. Justice will prevail, you are correct. The part that might cause you concern is the fact that Justice will most likely not conform to your desired vision. As you are not really concerned about Justice I have no doubt you will be disappointed. I say this because Justice is not screwing millions of people over to appease a small and ineffectual group of "squeaky wheels". It is about being just to all. No doubt you will then commence to scream racism and genocide (I figure why stop?). This will however not make Justice any less just. -

You're done, give it up. This entire post merely accents the fact. A dead give away is when you start using phrases such as "stands to reason". Just because in your opinion this is how it should be does not make it so. Once again you cite examples with not a shred of proof to back them up, SOP. As for a moderate income. Well the proceeds from illegal tobacco sales are far more than just moderate, admittedly, freedom from tax does give a huge advantage in that area. Perhaps your confussion stems from not being aware of what a restricted substance is and the laws covering distribution and use of such substances. In short additional controls and taxes are applied to restricted substances. They can not just be sold to anyone like a pack of hot dog buns. Licenses and permits must first be issued and the restrictions applicable to the item(s) must be clearly understood. In short, Natives do clearly brake the law, they clearly smuggle and they clearly make handsome profits from such activities. They are not, as you surmise, pure as the wind driven snow, neither are they some sort of saintly beings who can do no wrong. They are merely human, just like the rest of us. As such they are as subject to fault and misbehaviour as anyone else on this planet. Further to that we also know that there are many many Native vendors selling to any one with the money. Thus circumventing the law in an illegal manner. You can try to deny this if you wish but all you'll be doing is discrediting yourself. -

Great, another worthless needlessly insulting post. Adds a lot of weight to "you should have stayed in school". Now on to the one thing you said that can be answered. The Saint Lawrence incident. Because a few Natives helped a few French sailors stuck in the ice does this mean we should give hand outs and segregated rights for perpetuity? (By the way, French sailors have never been known as Limey's, only British.) By your logic the Natives should be supporting us given the amount of times we have to move Natives due to flooding and other such things. -

Wrong again. Non Natives are not allowed to by cigarettes from natives. Yes, there have been many convictions for smuggling. Instead of making shit up why don't you post proof that there have been no convictions? Oh, thats right, because you cant. Who do you think you're fooling with your rather obtuse circular rationalizations? Thanks though, once again you have confirmed what everyone knows about the dishonest nature of your posts. So very predictable. (Edited to add.) This is one reason why we can't just go to the reserve here and buy cigarrettes, if they sold to us and were caught they would be guilty of selling duty free products without license to do so. Being a smoker this subject is near and dear to my heart, I've checked it out and I will admit have bought the cigarrettes before. Just because I could buy them does not make it legal to do so however. Heres another link for you, once again it contradicts what you say and confirms the illegality of this practise. No, make something up and I'll once more have to waste my time with another link to further underscore the dishionest nature of your posts. Of particular interest is the section on smuggling and taxes as relates to Canada. -

Obviously this is just about the biggest crock of shit I've ever heard. Its amazing how you contort and twist the truth to suit your agenda. It is smuggling, there are many many recorded and proven cases of it and you are now at the point where what you say is a totall fabrication. Do you honestly believe anyone here is stupid enough to believe your opinion and "truth" based on your variable reality. One quick example That was just one of many links that I grabbed quickly. You want to continue your fabrications and specious justifications and make me post link after link? Or will you just do the honest thing and admit that you made it up based on wishfull thinking? -

I've been staying out of this thread because its become very boring and redundant. However I have to say something about the following. This statement is so wrong as to be farcical. We do not owe our existance to Natives, this is a myth activists loudly proclaim without one single shred of proof, it is pure opinion based on ignorance. We owe our existance to a universe with clear and well ordered laws of nature, not some native. As I said CR, you couldn't have gotten that one more wrong if you formed a study group and worked on it for a month of sundays. -
