Mine too, but I liked all of Tull's Albums. I saw them twice, the first time was the Bursting Out tour and the second was the Storm Watch tour. Both superb concerts, the man is truly the Minstrel. Kate, yes, she was beautifull. I especially appreciated her outfit in her video version of Babushka. The chain mail bikini and vakyrie looking hair were just right.

I served three years with our East Coast NERT team in Halifax Oleg. I'm fully aware of what nukes are. Too much knowledge of the effects and methodolgy behind their use actually. It was fascinating though, thats why I tend to tune them out when people start to give opinions on nukes, they just don't know.
-
Yep, they also mounted them on 104's as well.

ROTFLMAO! Oleg, I'm glad you post. Sometimes its really wacky stuff but its always entertaining. Most importantly you're honest in your opinions. -
Not too many people are aware of it but we did have nukes in the past. They were all in West Germany when we maintained a presence there. I believe the last were removed from our arsenal in the latter part of the sixties if my memory serves me correctly. In Somalia we wouldn't have been able to help anyone if we weren't armed. It was almost a daily occurence when we had to go help NGO's who were being threatened and even captured by Aidide's men.

Hmmmm, no Kate Bush or Annie Lennox fans. You want to talk about great vocal range you really should listen to Kate. As for lyrics, well Ian Anderson has been a long time favourite of mine, he has a great story tellers sort of voice too.

Oh no, no no no! Thats just very very disturbing. I have an urge to run to the shower and scrub furiously after reading that. (Credit to "The Crying Game" for the shower reference.)

I was wondering about that myself, thanks for the clarification. -
Its also ineffective, but you get what you pay for. Just how would you respond to a civil emergency if all you had was some nukes? Blow the shit out of the area and not worry about the emergency afterwards? I suppose that would have been one way to handle the Quebec ice storm.

Holy shit! Another one. Okay, the previous post was not directed at you Oleg, thiws one is. I repeat, show me where I have ever said that natives live in luxury, or that women have it better than anyone else. You cant because I have never made such claims. Start to comprehend what you read, okay. -
So how long did it take you to figure out that one Oleg?

Once again you attempt to put words in my mouth. Show me where I ever said any such thing, without quote mining as DM attempted to do. I believe you are under a misconception in that you appear to believe I am opposed to equitable settlements. This is not true and I have stated many times over that I believe we should find an equitable arrangement that is acceptable to all parties. What I am against is lies and deceit, free loaders who do not wish to contribute but only take. Never have I claimed that no injustices were committed against Natives, I merely doubt the sincerity of all involved parties, on both sides of the coin. You may wish to call me a sceptic, and in truth I do tend to be sceptical, however I am not blind and as such will and do point out inconsistencies in the claims made by others when those inconsistencies do exist. Perhaps you've noticed that I do not dispute the rest of your post, only the part where you attempt to attribute thoughts and attitudes to me that you can have no real idea about. -
Yay! The new winner of most stupid post of the decade!

Osama Flops in USA
AngusThermopyle replied to TrinityJ's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Actually when it comes to the scientific method the answer is not always. A theory, when proven remains a theory in that it can encompass several or even many disciplines, therefore it is difficult to call it a fact since that can cover many seperate ideas. Scientist also acknowledge that with the advent of new knowledge accepted beliefs may have to be, and in many cases have been, revised to include the data from this new knowledge. Thus the accepted fact would in fact not be a fact as a matter of fact. Oh my god! I'm starting to sound like Jean Chretien. Evolution and speciation have now been proven time and time again yet there are those who refuse to accept it. Its sort of like the idiots who claim the only water in the solar system (or even the Universe) exists on Earth. The proof can be staring them in the face yet they will still deny it. -

Actually what surprises me is the fact that they are supposed to be a nation with a higher level of education compared to many others, yet the acceptance of evolution is so low. I'm also surprised that so many decry such a well accepted and proven theory, considering that it has been vindicated many times over. -
Glad you mentioned that, I didn't think anyone was going to. Comparing Canada to China is at best absurd. In Canada for instance we don't starve our baby girls to death because we want male children. For those who dispute this practice I recommend a documentary called "The Killing Rooms". It's terrible what they do to baby girls and simply reinforces the fact that Human life is the cheapest and most worthless commodity in China.

Actually there is a serious move afoot by our government to extend existing basic human rights to Native women. This is being opposed by Native women of all people. The goal is to provide security and safety to Native women and children however Native groups with a strong self interest in the current situation are fighting it with all their resources. Thats okay though, we'll disregard the fact that it is Natives attempting to continue the subjugation of their own kind and simply claim that it is Canadian societies fault. -

You'll probably be surprised to know that I agree with your above statement almost 100%. The approach of using Herbal treatments as a supplement strikes me as being the most sensible and practical approach. Where I disagree however is the use of Herbal treatments as a substitute for what is known to work, albeit not perfectly, but they do work. Of course some ailments are beyond the scope of Herbal treatment, in fact many are beyond the scope of organized traditional medical procedures. Once more research and data is accumulated we may come up with a hybrid treatment more effective than either is alone. -

The above is a quote taken from Amnesty International. They in turn took this quote from the International Tribunal On Human Rights. This is a fact, no matter how hard you try you can not negate this fact. Try all you want, it will not alter this fact, it is recognized and enacted by all major developed countries. Perhaps you should apply your newly learned catch phrase to yourself, it would be very appropriate and fitting as you seem to be argueing that protecting a child from unwise choices and decisions is in fact removing their rights. Perhaps you would care to tell all of us about a time when women and children enjoyed more rights than they currently do. As for staying on topic, well how about you offer more than your obviously biased opinion in future. Or is that too much to ask of you? -

I certainly understand the point you are making, however some woman on TV is hardly an educated counter to the accumulated knowledge of the world wide medical community. For instance, how much of the process of cellular fusion and conjugation did this woman understand (actually, cellular conjugation occurs only in bacteria but does help illustrate the exchage of genetic material in cellular replication)? To state that the cure kills is an emotional response to a complex issue. Given that what she says is actually factual the implication would be that the cure kills and cancer saves. Herbal treatments may offer an effect that offsets the negative effects of treatment but hard proven evidence that it is of itself a cure is just not present. In other words, herbal treatments may help but are not confirmed as a cure. I would certainly place more stock in what the medical community says than an unidentified woman on TV offering up her untrained opinion. -

Actually children at this time have more basic human rights than ever before in known or recorded history. In fact children and other humans such as women have never before enjoyed more basic rights than they do at this time, far from being mere chattel as you wrongly postulate. Could you give an example of how children are chattel with no intrinsic rights? Darn, I almost forgot. Thanks again for the unwarranted insults. Once again you show your lack of concrete arguements by resorting to insults, do you actually know how to hold a civil discourse free of insults? Hell no! Why do I even ask. Nice attempt at a side step however it does not matter how many classicaly phrased catch phrases you use it does not negate or invalidate the base premise. Perhaps your ruse would work with those who do not understand the phrase or have never studied the classical languages, in this case however it does not. -

Once again CR, thank you. I couuld not have put it more clearly if I'd tried. With that one little phrase you told everyone exactly what your agenda is. I think the key phrase is "not yet recognized" by using this you have clearly shown that you have an agenda, an attempt to twist and manipulate the system to your ends and achieve goals as yet undefined. By stateing "not yet recognized" you make your intent clear. As far as you're concerned no amount of "reasonable accomodation" will ever be enough. Not yet recognized translates to not enough ever in your lexicon. You've shown time and time again that you have no real understanding of the laws and mores of this land, and consistently when called on your lack of knowledge have resorted to that weakest of all arguements, slander and name calling. So. The question I'm left with is why are you so bitter and filled with hate? Despite your claims of a six figure income I'm left with the feeling that you're actually one of lifes losers waiting for the gravy train to come in. Could this actually be the reason behind your blind activism? Eargely awaiting your reply; Angus. -
Who's been killing anyone in your name? As for your direct say in it, well I doubt too many forces members really give two hoots what you think. It may surprise you to learn this but Canada does not wait with baited breath for your approval.

No precedent here Buffy, this has been done before when the childs welfaire is judged to be at risk, with white kids as well, not just Aboriginals. Personally I support them in this move, many times parents just don't have either the knowledge or perspective to make the right decision in such complex matters. As for Charters claim of Genocide by assimilation. Obviously this case had nothing at all to do with assimilation, just the boys health. I guess the next claim will be that we are killing them with kindness. -

A pretty transparent attempt to deflect from the fact that you've been exposed for the fraud you are. So if its all there then provide links. The onus is on you, not I. I'm simply asking you to provide proof of your allegations, which you refuse to do. Show us it was illegal. Show us its racially based. Show us how CAS would'nt have done the same if it were a white familly. Show us these amazing alternate cures. Convince us this boy is not merely a pawn to your agenda. You cant, all you can do is try to deflect with your childish insults. You've got nothing, a fact you continually reinforce with your non responses. Soooo predictable. You're right though, I sure am lazy working those 12 hour days six days a week.
