  1. Now that is very interesting. I agree, its cool knowing where the races diverged, or started to anyway. I imagine some will find it offensive rather than interesting, that cant be helped though. It is information that has value and as such is worthy of discussion, actually I think it could lead to a very interesting, if sensitive, discussion.
  2. Not at all, I'm absolutely non-religious. Why would I say or agree to any such thing? Once again, no. I don't believe in a "creator" of the universe. As for purity of race, I've previously stated that I'm a mongrel, I'm quite content being one too. I have also stated previously that I do have a problem with Radical Islam though, and that means I have a problem with folks like the Taliban or Hamas. I don't think that makes me some sort of closet racial purity supremacist, it just means I recognize an open threat. I think if anyone tries to deny the reality of the threat such organizations and their ideologies pose they are merely being willfully blind to the facts. I mentioned in another thread that I found what two young Palestinian men had to say reference the Palestinian situation was eminently sane and sensible. They are interviewed in the Documentary "Suicide Killers", its fascinating. Instead of talking about what is happening the film makers wanted to know why it is happening, on a personal level. So they conducted interviews in Palestine and Israel. They talked to captive bombers, they talked to active Hamas in the field. they talked to famillies of bombers, also Palestinians on the street. When you hear in their own words why they do what they do you will be amazed, and I would hope, profoundly disturbed. Still, the two young men (they're brothers) put it best when they observed that no good could come of they way in which their religion was being perverted. You should see it, if you honestly want to know why these people do what they do. So, did that answer your query?
  3. I agree that its a huge loss to human kind. these are things that we as a species should have cherished. However the UK and US are not the only ones to blame for such behaviour. for instance, the Taliban are known to deliberately cause such destruction of human heritage sites and objects if they offend their religious sensibilities. The bottom line is that such conflicts cost not only lives but the loss of significant and irreplaceable artifacts. Still, the loss of the Hanging Gardens cant be attributed to the UK or US as they were destroyed eons before the US even existed. Interesting topic though. Old accounts (Herodotus) had the walls of Babylon stretching for 80 miles, its now known they extended for 10 miles. The history of this area is well worth learning as its full of interesting occurrences, accomplishments, and also failures.
  4. Did you read all the Red X articles? They're great, some really funny stuff there. They cant be serious though, they're so absolutely absurd as to be comical. Are these what you meant when you talked about some of the most refined torture methods Jennie? Seriously? You cant use silliness like these articles as proof of anything other than a fertile, if somewhat twisted, imagination. On that note though, I do keep checking for new Red X stuff, it's good for a laugh. Like I said before, it would make a great cartoon. Evil forces, resurrections, the third dimension, and free Ottawa Senators tickets.
  5. Interesting that you mention this, I've brought it up before. He was responsible for re-routing Jewish children to the death camps actually, over six thousand of them. Nazi ideology formed a great deal of the "New Arabic Political Conciousness", examples are frequent. They like to use the Nazi technique of indoctrinating the children as well, Hitler had his hitler youth, they have summer camp that is in effect boot camp. You should watch "Suicide Killers". They went into Israeli maximum security detention centers and interviewed captive terrorists. Its fascinating. These men and women are absolutely unrepentant and profess nothing more than a desire to be free so they can make another attempt. Particularly chilling is the interview with the Hamas bomber in the field (not prison). It's they way he talks about how happy he would be to walk into a nursery full of Israeli babies and detonate himself that really hits home. They also interview non terrorist Palestinians, some show support, some a kind of tacit support and others are opposed, but afraid. The interview that stands out for me is the one near the end. they talk to two young men, brothers. these guys made perfect sense. They are Muslim but believe their religion has been perverted, as one of them says "no good can come of it" (talking about how Islam is being used to justify killing). They would like to see an end to the fighting but were too afraid to say or do anything about it. It's a movie that presents both sides of the conflict and is definitely worth watching. Relating to the whole Nazi connection the documentary "Obsession" deals with that in a pretty in depth way and provides a lot of good source material for further research.
  6. Would this be the same Taliban who just hung a teenager because he had some American money on him? They stuffed five American dollar bills in his mouth as a warning to others. Sounds like the kind of people we should be negotiating with if you ask me.
  7. Sure did, cant wait for the next installment to come out. It would make a really good comic book or children's cartoon. I like the part where they offer him Ottawa Senators tickets and a Casino if he'll just betray the others. I also like the description of the security forces, you know, they all wear black cowboy hats and tight black jumpsuits with Jack boots. It has to be some of the funniest stuff I've read in quite a while.
  8. A seriously fallacious statement. There is no such thing as "peace keeping" it's merely a Liberal feel good term. If you have peace it doesn't need to be kept, it just is. If you don't have peace you obviously cant keep it. In that case you need to make it.
  9. You may be right you know. After we leave Afghanistan there is a very good chance that world peace will spontaneously break out. (That was just a tiny bit sarcastic, for those who may not have caught that.)
  10. What a silly thing to say. Do you believe that we didn't have to replace any equipment? You figure this stuff just magically lasts forever? Or perhaps you are some one who thinks we shouldn't have a military at all? The only reason (apart from inflation) it costs so much is that the Liberals attempted to systematically dismantle the military for many years. Now all we're doing is trying to play "catch up" as far as equipment goes.
  11. Damn good question, but it may be possible you wont get an answer to it.
  12. That is not always a reliable indicator of these matters. for instance we have a guy at work here who claims the same thing. Strictly speaking he's correct, after delving a little deeper I discovered he did a year and a half then was kicked out as an administrative burden. No deployments and barely trained. So as you can see just being ex military does not necessarily confer legitimacy. As to the Afghanistan situation, well, thats a bit of a conundrum isn't it. On the one hand no sane person wants to see people killed. On the other though, can we leave and allow the Taliban to freely set up shop there? I don't think we can. Before any coalition troops were ever feet down on the ground, Afghanistan was a base for the terrorists to do as they pleased. The alternative of helping the Afghani's set up their own democratically based government would appear to be the far better solution. These things take time though, you cant expect it to happen over night, or even within five years.
  13. O'kay. A statement made with no explanation of meaning and no facts to back it up. You're off to a good start.
  14. This has nothing to do with the discussion of the Haldimand agreement. It's just an observation as to the legitimacy of statements made on this forum. Jennie, you have stated many times that you are not Native, yet on numerous occasions you've made slips just like the one quoted above. These would indicate to me that you are indeed Native. If this is the case I hope you realise that such misrepresentation merely serves to cheapen or invalidate any point or argument you have to make. Anyway, that was just a passing thought based on observations of your writing style.
  15. Is something wrong with you? Open your eyes and read. I never said any such thing at all. What I said was the guy who said that wasn't being racist. Are you being deliberately obtuse? Where the hell else would you go? The local Tim Hortens, just because you got your degree there don't attribute it to everyone else. Any normal stable person would consider a University an ideal place to conduct research. Do try and get reality straight will you? At least pay enough attention to realize who said what, and try to can your little hissy fits please. You seem to be pretty unstable though.
  16. And what a superbly excellent addition that is to the culture. Its unfortunate that curry hasn't caught on in the same way here in Canada, yet.
  17. I'm not, those who circumvent established procedures never impress me when it comes to matters such as these. Why should they they get the fast track when others legitimately follow procedure and have to wait. I don't believe that illegals are the most desirable form of immigrant we could pursue. The thing about the easiest way to a much better life raises issues as well. Why should we find it acceptable that someone cheats their way to a much better life? Especially if it is at the cost of others? I can see why you state what you state, I just don't see any validity in what you state.
  18. What none-sense. The word nigardly has absolutely nothing to do with the word nigger. You can make up theoretical instances till the cows come home and it still will not change the meaning of the word. Just because you choose to misinterpret the meaning of the word does not actually change its meaning. Prey tell exactly where the word "nigard" or "Nigardly" is contained in the word "Nigger", or vice-versa, it is not from what I can see. Sometimes you do post very good points, that can not be denied. Other times however I think you may just post rationalizations in order to attempt to prove a point.
  19. I have a question to ask you Jennie. The same one I asked earlier in this thread. Do you believe this guy would be a positive addition to Canadian society? If so, what is the basis for this belief.
  20. Actually I didn't know that it was one of their own who shot the cop, interesting information. Also interesting is the fact that the brutal fascist military provided safe passage for the Native person then guarded him from the QPP. Now lets see all the rationalizing and dancing begin from the Native apologists corner.
  21. Ahhh, more specious and juvenile insults. I guess you have a short attention span as I've clearly stated on numerous occasions that I retired after twenty years service. So as for your comment regarding joining the Army, been there, done that. Please try to pay a little more attention and spend less time making up lies about being a captain. As for the rest. As usual in your world view, the Natives are as pure as the wind driven snow. I guess you forget about the cop they killed. Or is that just hunky dory as far as you are concerned? I don't know how old you are but I think you may have been too young to see the whole thing when it went down. I remember watching it. Plenty of natives throwing rocks and assaulting the troops with baseball bats and the like. I suppose in Posit world its just fine for someone to pitch rocks at your head and attempt to beat you with a baseball bat if they are Native. Not to mention the killing of a police officer. Which was the entire reason the military was called in initially. I've noticed that, apart from the outright lies you like to spout, you also only ever present or even consider one side of the story. This is a rather severe short-coming on your behalf and is a major reason that many do not lend any weight to what you have to say.
  22. It appears the woman who made the documentary states it was a civilian mob throwing rocks. No mention of all the rocks the Natives were throwing though. I do however remember the broken hip incident. She was tossed off the bridge, of course she wasn't doing a blessed thing to deserve that, right? Now that last statement of yours is just downright embarrassing, I'm really happy I didn't say something so childish. You make ridiculous statements like that and expect to be taken seriously, thats almost as bad as your blatant lies about being a military member.
  23. Wow! You really like to make stuff up don't you! I should have known after your blatant and flagrant lies about being a military member. From what I can see you're more a military hater than anything else.
  24. Man you are so full of it. Why don't you learn what happened at Whiskey Trench? It was an angry civilian mob throwing rocks, not the Military. Our budget may be inadequate but they haven't resorted to issuing rocks to us yet. Please try and stay glued to reality, and come back to Earth from that other planet you're currently wandering around on.
  25. Ahhh! Once again you speak for my emotions and feelings when you don't have a clue what they actually are, how very astute of you. Amazing talent you have there. Now you've had your little hissy fit I will state what I actually think. I do not hate the Mohawk Warrior Society, I scorn them as wanna-be's and posers. Actually I dont hate anyone, hatred is a very non productive and futile emotion, nothing more than a waste of time and energy. Still, don't let the facts get in your way, that wouldn't be near as much fun as inventing emotions and motives to attribute to people now would it?
