  1. Tell me Rue, how did you develop this astounding talent of yours? The ability to tell others what they actually mean. If you knew the basis for my question then you would know it's valid. As a former"lifer" I have very strong views regarding respect and its application to other fighting forces. For instance I have respect for the British, American and Israeli fighting forces. They are potent forces and are worthy of respect from a military point of view. The Mohawks however are not a potent force. They lack discipline and have no concept of what a military person is. Therefore I do not find them worthy of the respect one military person accords another. Of course since my views don't match yours you will retreat into your usual tirade of screaming racist at anyone with whom you disagree. Your little dog and pony show is becoming tedious, change the record please, we've heard this one way too many times. Of course you could just state that you are fully versed in such matters and therefore no other person will ever be able to state a point you disagree with.
  2. Sorry Rue, I fail to see any racism in the preceding statement. What I see is a guy who is saying that if you go to a University you will find a plethora of information relating to the subject, however it may be pretty technical. So where is the racism in that, he's 100% correct, you will find lots of information and, yes, it will be technical. How you extrapolate racism from that I have no idea.
  3. I didn't know you and Scott are chums, thats so nice.
  4. Posit appears to be every mans everything as it suits him. So come on Posit. Defend those Mohawk thugs. Find some argument that will confer legitimacy upon the illegitimate. Find some way to convince every one that they are a legitimate force worthy of respect.
  5. Thank you, I am a mongrel. Part Scottish, part Irish, with a bit of English thrown in for good measure. How's this for an idea? We take all the illegals and tell them they can settle on First Nations land. I'm sure you and your brethren would welcome them with open arms.
  6. By the way you can show a little respect for someone who outranks you, if you were indeed actually a Captain as you claim. Captain is one of the lower ranks in the officer corps. Its a position given to younger guys who show some potential but cannot be trusted with too much leeway at their age. Does that describe you?
  7. Excuse me! You got me home safely? Honestly I don't think you had anything whatsoever to do with Somalia or Yugo. I don't think you "got me home safely" Actually I suspect that even if you were involved you most likely did your best to stay uninvolved. Know what I mean? Nudge nudge, a wink is as good as a nudge.
  8. I agree with you to a certain extent, what I would say is "no true officer". Frankly I don't believe a word that Posit posts. To put it in my native tongue (British), he's full of sh#t!
  9. That statement alone says so much. How many tours did you do?.......... I thought as much. Do you know what us common serving men referred to officers as? It usually went along the lines of cowardly parasitic obstructionist #ucks. Our most common complaint was that we weren't allowed to do what we knew we should do. Our Liberally commanded officers ensured we took the safe craven way. It galled us, we wanted to do our job. So are you saying that you were one of those craven individuals? Or are you just saying that you feel superior to better men than yourself?
  10. Thank you. However right now I'm eagerly awaiting Jennie's response to my question. In her all encompassing and infinite wisdom of all things, she has just told me that I know nothing at all about what it means to be a "warrior". I would beg to differ with her on that point
  11. [ quote]Since you cannot validate your statement of "facts", I can dismiss your opinion as such. wink.gif Go to the top of the pageReport Post Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I've noticed that if anything said here does not agree with you, you shoot it down totally. You don't offer any validation, you just make a final proclamation of your personal belief system and expect others to accept it as the word of god. +
  12. I love your answers, they're so elusive and full of pervasive ignorance. Heres a lesson for you. A warrior is a warrior. We fight. It doesn't matter if you are European, Chinese, Russian or any damn other nation. I've fought a few of them . For you to say I'm unqualified is the ultimate in ignorant smug superiority. Have you ever fought? No, I didn't think so. How can you in all good faith post such bullsh#t? I guess in your books 20 years of service in all parts of the world and all sorts of conflicts makes me unqualified. Right?
  13. ( Whoaa! Back up that buggy! Previously you have stated that the four claims were actually settled thus giving validity to the rest of the frivolous claims on the Haldimand Tract. So what is it? Do the offers confer validity? Or is validity still an open question to be decided? I'm anticipating your answer, I'm curious as to how serpentine your rationalization will be.
  14. Actually, yes I do believe I'm qualified. I think I've mentioned before that I served 20 years in the CAF, I retired 5 years ago. In my time I did 6 tours including Somalia, Yugo (before it became Bosnia/Hersegovina) and Rwanda. I earned 7 decorations and a commendation for "performance above and beyond the call of duty". So do you think I might be slightly qualified? +
  15. I sure do remember it, I was there, were you? I was attached to the Airborne, went over on HMCS Presever as part of an advance contingent to secure the port and airfield in order to facilitate the establishment of a secure area for coalition troops to establish a secure base camp. By the way, the incident you refer to involved one primary perpetrator, his name was Clayton Matchee, a Native from New Brunswick. He was apparently always a psycho bastard, the guys in his own unit didn't even want to be around him. As for the cover up, that was purely political, masterminded and guided by the Liberal government. In answer to their problem they decided to scapegoat a young private by the name of Kyle Brown. He took pictures of Clayton torturing and beating Shidane Arone to death and tried to submit them as evidence of wrong doing. Instead his evidence was turned against him and used as proof of complicity in the act performed by Clayton. So Kyle was scapegoated and used to shut down the enquiry when it got too close to the Liberals. Does that answer your question? "Remember Somalia in 1993?"
  16. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an answer to your post if I were you.
  17. Wow! I'm speechless! What are you smoking? That is the most ridiculous statement that I've heard in a long, long time.
  18. What a rosy view of reality you have. these guys are not doing what they do from a legitimate basis. Many of them travel up from New York everytime the new blockade of the week debuts. It's an opportunity for them, they get to strut their stuff and play the aggressive warrior card, all whilst knowing they are perfectly safe and pretty much immune to prosecution. They are nothing more than thugs and as such why the hell should anyone respect them? Mohawk Warrior Society. The name invokes and implies a Paramilitary organization, not just some Johny do goods valiantly defending their people and their sacred territory Their method is well documented by now, they are there merely to intimidate and use force against civilian residents of the town. They are not worthy of respect. Military organizations respect each other for real reasons, not just because some bunch of guys in used combats think they are warriors and like to gang up on defenceless people. As has been stated before, they are thugs, nothing more. They have no legitimate mandate or command system.
  19. Our Government is following the law. they are negotiating in good faith with the Natives and moving to settle the whole land claims issue. As you yourself have stated numerous times, they have already settled four of the Haldimand Tract claims. So how is this indicative of the Government wanting to screw the Natives? Last night I was at a friends house, a Native guy we know dropped by for a beer. Of course our conversation turned to the topic of the compensation he's receiving. You see, he spent just over a year in a residential school and is now waiting for his compensation cheque to arrive. It's for $60,000 which he thinks is quite nice. some of his acquaintances have already received there compensation. That would be another example of the Government acting in good faith to settle these matters. So why do you insist they are breaking the law when in fact it is the Natives who are flagrantly violating the law. I don't believe there is any circumstance that provides legal sanction for the destruction of both private and public property. Nor for the purposefull disruption of legitimate communities and their inhabitants.
  20. Were you there? Could you perhaps provide a credible source of information to back your statement? Does that sort of behaviour seem in keeping with what you think Canada's military does? I can only speak for myself in saying that I never harmed a civilian in any of the countries to which I was deployed. Our mandate was to counter identifiable enemy combatants whilst minimizing civilian casualties at all cost. That has always been the CF mandate, it is to this day. As a rule we don't pick on little girls, we tend to go after the big boys.
  21. I believe the previous post was inspired by a lack of anything of real substance to add to the discussion.
  22. Yayyy! Posit speaks for people he doesn't know again, and makes another colossal assumption, again. Why would you assume our people in Afghanistan don't agree with what they are there for? Actually they overwhelmingly believe in what they are doing there. Sure I can, thousands others can as well. I would venture to say that the majority of people who have served in established military forces could. A warrior is someone who has been extensively trained to kill, yet still retains the consciousness of self that will guide them upon the best course. A warrior has power over others by virtue of force, but does not abuse that power. A warrior sees no need to strut and bluster, why should they? They know who they are and what they can do. A warrior has discipline, a sense of teamwork and co-ordination that enables them to achieve the objective they wish to achieve. A warrior can kill or show compassion, they do not try to intimidate and bully citizens. They perform their duties professionally. Above all they realize that by virtue of the choice they made, their life is secondary to that of others. I hope that answers your question.
  23. Why is Britney bigger than Bush? Easy answer, she has way, way nicer boobs. Guys like that, you know? Guys tend to like that too.
  24. I don't get it. I read the text and looked at the pictures and just don't see what the guy is saying. Someone buying groceries, it's just something you have to do. A guy buying a fishing rod, so what, I just bought myself a new rod and reel this summer, I like to fish. So does that mean I'm supporting and showing American Patriotism through consumerism? I don't think so, it just means we buy what we need and/or want. Why not? I work hard so why shouldn't I (or anyone else) buy what pleases them? By his reasoning I'm super patriot. I've been spending about $1000.00 a month for the last 3 months on computer parts for my new rig. Does that mean that I'm part of his premise, even though I'm not American? Frankly I think the guy is full of it. People all over the world engage in these actions. Just another pseudo intellectual trying to make a mark.
