  1. I recall...exactly...the weapon pulled on me during the hold-up. Aimed right at my face...hard not to. It was a silver .45 Colt 1911 with a black grip. Stolen from a collector, obviously. Nice gun. No...you can't tell if it is loaded like with a revolver. But the hammer was back...

I was there, a lot. Although we mostly operated out of the airport and old port we frequently had to make trips up to the embassy, as you probably know that was the HQ for the coalition forces. It was as secure a place as any in Mogadishu. It still amazes me when I think about the holiday attitude of those who were stationed at the embassy. They might have lost that attitude if they'd spent some time in the other two main locations instead. It became a regular part of life to watch the firing around the wire in the evening and being woken early by the mortar rounds they'd lob at us randomly around dawn each day. The old port was the worst though, given it's location and the approach it was a prime shooting gallery for Somali's. We had a Marine taken out directly ahead of us one day as we lined up waiting to clear weapons so we could enter, a sniper in some abandoned buildings across from the entrance. All hell broke loose, within minutes a flight of three Cobra's showed up and leveled the building. Lot's of shit went on that the Liberals never let the Canadian public know about. In fact they placed a gag order on all of us that to my knowledge has never been lifted.

Because I don't give a shit what dirty secrets the Liberal government of the time want to keep quiet. Of course you're fine with them hiding the truth from Canadians. After all, lies and secrecy are well established Liberal hallmarks. Now piss off you little toad, i wasn't wasting time talking to you.
