I think similarly. The problem with Bonam's analysis is that it's thinking in 21st century earth tech/sci-fi terms. The future of human technology will be very different than Star Trek. Alien probes would likely appear invisible to us. If it is visible to us, it could be just one probe of many, or one that sends out smaller probes. I find it extremely unlikely that any alien probe from an alien species with the technological capability to come this far would ever be detectable by our comparatively primitive technology, unless it malfunctioned or they wanted us to discover it.

Obama: Pullback to 1967 Borders
Moonlight Graham replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is true now. But after the 1967 war, Israel occupied the West Bank (Jordan ruled), Gaza (Egypt ruled), Sinai peninsula (Egypt), and the Golan Heights (Syria). UNSC Resolution 242 states the "the "inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war". and demands: Of course, many different agreements between the different states + the Palestinians have been enacted since then, possibly making some of 242 moot, but others use it as precedent. -

You're a troll. A grumpy old man, unhappy in his life, who constantly trolls these forums doing his best to be ass to anyone in order to feel better of himself. Amoral self-interest maybe you'd call it? Too bad, you're an intelligent and informed guy, who without the spike rammed up his ass I would very much enjoy debating with. When you're done being an SOB hit me up and i'll be glad to debate with you. Until then, i'm done. I truly wish you the happiness you're looking for, good luck. -

You didn't even read my post properly. I was speaking future hypothetical. Both sides have committed much ethnic killing, obviously. Keep trolling for those contradictions. -

Obama: Pullback to 1967 Borders

I just argued the Palestinians SHOULD resist, only with non-violent resistance and civil disobedience, Gandhi-style. Gandhi was not a pacifist. What would the international reaction be right now if the Israelis mowed down a nation of peacefully protesting Palestinians, none of whom used terror tactics? Would be interesting to see that one play out. Jews, fleeing Nazi-fied Europe, now committing ethnic mass slaughter? At least would be better than what the Pals have been doing for the last 100 years, which has barely left them with jack all. -

Take your own advice. Go to bed, watch TV, do something more productive with your time than feeding the troll. -

Military bombardment of of Gaza 08/09, it gets a Goldstone Report and a slap on the wrist. Attacks on Lebanon (pick one!), meh who cares. If the more radical Palestinians like Hamas etc. would stop blowing Israelis up like idiots trying to compete with the IDF, and the Pals used non-violent resistance they would have so much more success in the occupation. Israel would have no moral high ground, like the British in India, and western governments likely couldn't sustain the support any longer due to popular outrage. -

What happened in 72? You referring to the 1973 Yom Kippur war? Ya that was all illegal, so was 67 attack. I support the gulf war 1990-91, and ya it was "legal" under intl law. I don't support the Iraq War, and it was illegal. Korea was UNSC authorized, vietnam i have no idea. No i don't support every UNSC resolution, but that part of UNSC 242 it was the right thing to do. No more military annexing, intl security is better without it. Also, why do you label me as "of the left"? Does supporting international norms and law make me a lefty? -

and the US invades/attacks countries, supports coups, blackmails governments, and uses trade policies and the exportation of US companies to plunder the resources of other countries of their valuable resources. And ya, so does Canada. Beat ya to it! Scold the Canada when the US has a leg to stand on. I just pulled a BC! -

But why would a rich person want to put aside what is making them rich to take a job that makes 13k? Doesn't sounds like a good idea for them. Unless they are retired. -

Right. Taking territory through military force was part of the game before WWII. It just doesn't fly today, in order to maintain international security and whatnot (well, unless you're country nobody gives a poopers about). -

As soon as we build a time machine and create the international laws and norms of the UN that didn't exist at the end of WWII. -

Moonlight Graham replied to bush_cheney2004's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This doesn't fly. What Israel did in 1967 broke international law. If you are attacked in a war, you have the right to defend yourself of course, but if you win you can't just annex parts of the countries/territories that attacked you. That's what Israel did, and UNSC Resolution 242 from 1967 binds Israel to give back the acquired land. Obama is basically trumping Israel to follow the UN Resolution and international law. -

Arrest of Dominique Strauss-Kahn

If this is true, just another foul smell coming out of the offices of IMostlyFail Also, i had a bit of trouble paying attention to the clip, all i really heard was "ching chang chong!! Bing bang ching chang!" etc. I kid, i kid. -
The Noah story is ridiculous. A human can't gather 2 of every animal, that would take a million years, he'd have to dig into the earth to get smaller insects etc. How would he know which is male & female? But let's suppose he has a massive ark the size of a massive zoo. How does this guy and his wife keep them all alive? Feed them? Keep the mosquitos from flying away? Great tall tale, that's all it is.

A good Christian stops the daughter from getting raped with as little physical violence as absolutely possible, then forgives the rapist, not seek vengeance via execution.

Leftist Fascists Strike Yet Again
Moonlight Graham replied to Shady's topic in Local Politics in Canada
"fascism" completely misused for the sake of shock value strikes again. -
Such bullcrap from him. He doesn't want to run for the leadership...but wants to be the leader right now. Ya right that makes sense. And he says he'll only do with a long term if it's at least 1.5 - 2 years says CBC: Gimme a break. I think he wants to prove he's a good leader and then gain better support for a permanent leader.

Exactly!
