  1. re thought and investigated further changed opinion
  2. I followed the link and it said the Angus Reid Strategies poll was conducted by a random sampling online of 3000 people. I know that the pollsters are using online polling more and more but it still isn't as popular with companies as telephone polling. Nor is it as accurate. This is why they take three times the sample. I still feel dubious about the numbers till I've seen a rolling poll done by telephone. Yes, while I was waiting I found this out, and see that you can register at angus reid forums to do their polls, so if people of one persuasion know what they are voting on, all they have to do is get people of like mind to register and vote, skews results beautifully.
  3. The Lies of Harper and the CPC are taking the roll of lying politiciansto a whole new level, of slander.
  4. You have no proof that it is a deliberate legal misrepresentation, the article is presenting the facts of what is happening. Simply because they don't buy into native harassment and intimidation doesn't mean they are not correct. Just reading i the Hamilton spectator article suggests that it is a deliberate misrepresentation, and no it did not presents FACTs on what is happening. It smeared and made erroneous claims.
  5. whitedoors why did you take my quote out of context to suport something you were saying that it did not apply to? If this Angus reid poll was an on line poll , it has not more significance than a CTV, G&M, Global, on line poll. It would've have been freeped to the max.
  6. I never said any 'race' was superior. Never even brought it up. What I did say was that European SOCIETY was much more advanced at the time than FN society. That is a fact. No, I am not trying in vain to do anything other than say you are incorrect. Nor am I painting you as anything but ill informed. most advanced = superior The opinion you are holding about "more advanced" is spurious and biased, particularily when you insist at not looking at truth and facts regarding FN's, and even regarding the book you are thinking you are citing or using for evidence. Then with listing all the things you did, that you appear to think denote a more advanced status, that were invented long after contact, casts its own long shadow on your motives and thinking. Guns and steel do not make people's more "advanced" it makes them better armed is all. Immunities do not make a society more advanced than another either. Evidence on hunting and gathering: Pemmican and the fur tade and exploration of NA. None of it could have happened without FN's and their actions. Nor could it have been done without FN's technologically advanced means of transportation. I.e. birch bark canoes. Nor could it have been done without the vast trade networks already in existence for thousands of years. Inabiltity of colonialists to survive in NA until they learned gathering skills and eatable plants from FN's. Medicines today come from FN and SA indigenous knowledge. Romans were Mediterranean peoples NOT Europeans.
  7. I am still dubious about online surveys and have felt that way even when the Liberals were in the lead. First: Internet access just isn't as widely available as telephone coverage is. I've found the online poll numbers differ more strongly than the telephone poll numbers. I think we'll have to see what SES, Leger and Strategic come up with in the next several days. It was an on line poll? Where is the evidence of this?
  8. Check out the Roman empire, there was no Europe when it was around, LOLOLOL There were many differing types of peoples. I'm taking personal credit? haha ok, whatever helps your sleep at night. Well you seem to derive a sense of superiority because of it, so that is taking ownership yes. They sailed it, sure - but they had no advanced trade routes like the Portugese for example. Of course they did, from the outhern most regions of south america to the northern most regions of north america and both continents from east to west. obtuse much? There are also cave drawings in France that are 13,000 years old. Not quite the renaissance in my opinion... Again, you have failed to read links and do any reserach about their art work, pottery, building and infrastructure systems. In fact, I do not believe you have actually read the book you are speaking of. Yes there are numerous examples where they farmed until the land was turned fallow and simply moved on to the next arable land to repeat the process. So you know they used to let the land rest and then go back to it. Advanced agriculture in other words. Sorry, did you have a point to make here? Of course it is the point that mixing of cultures has brought about technologies, after both pre and post contact. Ever wonder why the 'White man' had a natural tolerance to this? it was because the 'white man' had advanced domesticatuion of animals millenia before FN's did. Small Pox is a disease of cows and pigs. They had the animals to domesticate they were long ago extinct here and were not re-introduced until after contact. How can you domesticate that which you do not have? Moreover, they were advanced hunters and gathers, and this in itself is hugely significant. If they were not future settlers to NA could not have survived. It may actually have more to do with close proximity to rats, vermin and filthy living conditions as anything. Eurasian society was more "technology" advanced because of Asian gun powder and steel forging.
  9. Perhaps you should have really read the book and heard what he was sayiing? Instead of taking an erroneous notion of superiority from it . http://delong.typepad.com/sdj/2005/07/intellectual_ga.html First: It is a thesis not supported absolutes, though it has some very fine points, none of which support your premise of European superorit over anyone. Second: Resistence to disease, does not make mental superiority or any other kind of superiority of self over another human. The link is to a semi peer review of the book, you might gain some actual insight into the book from it. Third: You do understand he was speaking about Eurasia, do you not? He was not just speaking about Europeans. The whole entire Asian content is included as being more "technologically" advanced. Agricultural started in the ME, NOT Europe, and indeed it seems that Africians were just as good at Agricultural as were the Eurasians. http://econ161.berkeley.edu/Econ_Articles/...amond_guns.html And truthfully, guns did not help Europeans that much in what is now the USA either, they tipped the scales in the end, but they had to decimate food stocks, pass out germ ridden blankets, feed First Nations poisoned alcohol, and exterminate whole villages of women and children. This was of course after they exploited them for their knowledge, skills and abilities. And gun warfare, played NO part in Canada's destruction of FN societies and culture what so ever. Also, no matter how hard you, whire doors, and argus, try to depict 1st peoples of the Americas as savages eating each other, does not make it fact.
  10. Accusing someon of having a "white mans" guilt complex to cover one's inalbility read threads and links and spouting things that are so a lack of education on what you are trying to condem is what is silly. For that is what you have below and you are taking personal ownership of as if it was you who did some of those sorry can't be done unless you trace every genetica line and moreover you are not even correct with many of them. Nor do they support any notion of superiority of persons. Whats does michelangelo have to do with this? Was he invented? The printing press made by Guttenburg was a breal though for people all to have an education. Feudalism? ??? The FN's had that down pat centuries before Europe did The FN of NA and SA sailed the Pacific all the time and they knew the earth was round long before Europeans admitted it. Apparently, peoples of the pacific were sailing all over it from one length to another of course, if you had any ineterest in truths you would've have researched your claims. Not only would there not have been world wide trade without FN's in the Amerias, North and South, many of their argicultural products exported to Europe. FN's had their own sophisticated culture art work, music long before. Of course they did, they had tade networks from the far north right down into South America. Had you bothered to read the links above you would've known you were in error, they had it long around the same times a Romans crerated theirs. And Romans were not Europeans. They were extremely well versed agrarians who had diverse crops. Those were not invented until way after NA inhabitation. Had you read above they had more knowledge of star system than those had after this creation. Oh, yes that was such a humanitarian benefit to society. But it was also invented after precontact Most of these things again things came about after contact and do not denote any type of superiority. They did not have small pox in NA/SA until white man brought it to them. Moreover, white man could not have settled successfully, nor expanded in NA without their assistance. Canada would NOT even be majority English if not for them. We would be French. No were they an easily defeated people in the USA, like some seem to think. In Canada, they were not defeated at all, they were lied to, used, abused, and spit out. Then subject to extreme propaganda smears and enforced living conditions. They did not even gain human status until the 1950's they were so ill used. Sickening really. No, but I know others that should be.
  11. I suppose what many are asking is why the FN leadership has not changed the poverty and conditions of FN. Note I said FN leadership. The amout of money already spent to help FN has done nothing to change their living conditions. You mention all the other groups who have done it on their own dollar, why can the FN not do it. Where is the leadership to pull them from their plight? Hello, many are doing it on their OWN dollar, and I gave you plenty examples of just how successfull they are becoming now that they are able to control their own lives. Did you NOT read any and follow the links? If you are going to express ill founded opinions why not try to find out if you are correct in your erroneous presumptions. There is information everywhere on line, why bother taking some one else's word for any thing? Research find out truths.
  12. This anti indigenous mentality combined with Eurpeon colonialistic xenophobia is really lack of adequate education: Take the Maya for example: http://www.civilization.ca/civil/maya/mmc01eng.html Here is good site about these so called savages early building capabilities and how their societies were very sophisticated long before Europeans were: http://www.crystalinks.com/pyramidmesoamerica.html http://www.crystalinks.com/nativeamer.html http://www.crystalinks.com/anasazi.html http://library.thinkquest.org/18778/olmec.htm
  13. Not true, as stated and as shown Absolutely true as stated and shown here and at the link here contains: http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index....opic=8153&st=75
  14. http://www.canada.com/topics/news/story.ht...56e0dfc&k=20500
  15. I'll remember this when we discuss the Middle East and Israel's buidling of West Bank settlements. Why there is absolutely nothing similar about the the 2 things?
  16. What utter rot, more spurious assertions - nothing but drive by smears. apparently you did not read the whole thread and reacted from a purely closed partisan view. And quite frankly it is only the CPC and their aplogicsts who are smearing these days it seeems. Instead of injecting your personal opinion how about you provide proof to back up your opinions?
  17. Giving total control of our resources to global corporations/elite with full secret support by the government is not a democracy.
  18. There was no lobby group pushing the vote, that is a smear and you have not sunstantiated it. Moreover, you read and know that the CPC MP , who was in charge of Fisheries and Oceans tell the CPC they were ignoring Court dictates, and continuing to break the law, please being disengenuous really furthers the reality you are dealing in truths but being disengenuous.
  19. You do not know for sure that he isn't, if he could lead there what does that say. With the Reform/Alliance/PC/CPC ties to neo-nazi Paul Fromm and Zundel, as astated and shown: There has been plenty of evidence posted here connecting the CPC and Paul Fromm and even to Zundel and it was not just a stated connection, it was physical placement. Both in this link and this one: http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index....5&gopid=190596& Then we have this: http://www.bcpolitics.ca/left_spp.htm They can consistently deny their real agenda, and true actions all they want but it does not make so. There is way too much evidence to the contrary.
  20. Never said a word about not having committee members at all/ Obviously the CPC MP who spoke out about the CPC governemnt committing illegal actions in the Dept of Fisheries and Oceans had issues with his parties policies. As he called them on it, as was linked to prior. and he was removed from the committee for being honest, go figure, eh/!

  22. Scholarships and burseries are handed out all the time to specific types of peoples, if you say the FN's should have none then, none should have none. They are using FN's land in Vancouver, and making improvents going to Whistler no doubt the FN's want in on it. It specifies inner city residents and FN's it is not exclusive to FN's. They are losing a huge amount of low income housing, and they should be offered positions and training, not a thing wrong with that. It is actually helping them to have a hand up. Moroever, there are not enough people to fill positions needed, if giving incentives to assist with training costs helps to fill positions I say go for it, It also specifies sustainable development plans, again nothing to do with FN. Lots and lots of FN are not hired even though they have qualifications because they do not have the proper DNA, and now somehow it is unfair when the playing field is reversed? I hardly think so. How do send white officers into a community that speaks no English and expect them to find out what is going on? And FN's have a very good reason not to trust white RCMP eh?! If a person is going to be driving with a burka on, then their drivers license should depict how they look eh?! Banks have people working in them that are wearing a burka, why is there a problem with people wearing burkas and entering a bank? Oh I know, there are so many bank robbers wearing burkas out there eh?! Not! Flimsy rational geoffery, and I believe you are being intellectually dishonest with yourself about your reasoning process. Nor are you taking into consideration learning needs amongst different peoples. All people are not the same. Muslems in Canada are not massive deviants from the cultural norm either geoffery, contrary to the erroneous position you hold and put forth. Again you are not funding FN, the outstanding debts owed, and interest on those debts, will not be paid in my lifetime most likely.
  23. Now that is an outright slurr and it has not been stalled at all. The only stalling dome was by the RCMp who refused to give the judge documentation, yet the Vancouver Sun aparently ended up getting it. Because the police are following the SCC's recommendation that these provisions be used only with the most diligence possible. An appeal could be made on each use of the provisions, which take years to sort out. Yes, takes years to sort out because they are not followinf due process, and can hold them for a year without telling anyone. And the police are not following anything the SCC said. they would no even give documents to the judge over seeing the inquiry. So, all these people who are caught up in fear driven hysreia, and erroneously jailed, should have to sit in jail for years while it is sorted out? Then we pay billions in punative damages? Wrong headed thinking! Alas, name that evidence or admit to fear mongering. The proof is in his dirty politics and smears, plus wanting to extend sunset clauses that were deemed by the SCC to not meet the charter. That is cancelling the Charter. It's good that this deal to extremists in the party is likely enough for Dion to get back to his job of being a mainstream political leader again. At least I hope so, for both the Liberal's and Canada's sake. There was no deal to the extremists in his party. Please do stop being so spurious.
  24. Oh, so it is okay for political parties to act only in their self interests and ignoring the interests of canadians, and breaking the law while doing so, but not the people in a riding looking out for their own self interests? If that is even the case. You really need to be more consistent, and less double standard geoffery.
  25. It is not about whether your nation cares if you die, it is about living, and as you yourself say at the bottom, it is what Canada provides you you could not get anywhere, else. So, really why would you want to destroy it? Seems fairly hyprocritical, geoferry. Seeing as how Canada has one of the highest standards of living in the world far outstripping the USA, there is no better place with a higher standard of living. Then someone would have been charged. Do you think the judiciary is in favour of this and have a secret agenda too? Well, seeing as how it is all being exposed as we speak, there could indeed be charges in the future eh?! If I felt it was the best thing for me at this time, I would have already left. I doubt if I'd ever renounce my citizenship unless it was for some financial aspect though... travelling as a Canadian is pretty easy and most countries have no problem with skilled folks from Canada working there. Why go through the hassel to commit to any arbitrary non-tangible entity? So, money is the only thing you are about, eh? I am truly sorry for you. Seems like you are making a commitment to Canada, because it is extemely beneficial to you and no other country can offer you more, even though you are professing "Why go through the hassel to commit to any arbitrary non-tangible entity". Again, why are advocating the destruction of Canada through this treasonous secret deal of Harper's and the CPC, that will make a facist state of canada and North America?
