With descriptions like that, I bet that both you and Guyser are Vegetarians now. Guyser isn't one to call a person a liar. And saying something isn't true, can be a matter of interpretation of events or places. This can be a difference of opinion. If I say something is "not true" I can't recall using that as a way to call someone a liar. If I say something is not true, if often means I disagree and have a different set of facts and experiences. People on these forums are going to use terms like "not true" and other arguments when in a discussion on a forum. However, when someone says, YOUR A LIAR, or YOU LIE< then you should take that at face value for what it is. I am reading both of your descriptions of the industry. It helps understand what used to be done as opposed to what is being done today. Either way, I think Maple Leaf will not recover from this for a very long time, if ever. Name change coming .....

BC has always confused me. I think it is a beautiful place. I just don't understand BC politics.

Apparently the 3 By Elections are not going well for the CPC. They thought they would do well in Guelph and they are not getting support they expected. Too many things going wrong for the CPC to allow these results to mean anything to the public. They want to go to the polls across Canada and more people are suggesting they won't waste time voting. Its a good way to hide that the campaigns are in trouble and the wins aren't coming. The other 3 parties all can gain from the By Elections. The LPC can look alive if they hold the fort in Guelph and Westmount the NDP can look alive if they challenge in Westmount and are competitive in Guelph The GP can look like the party that might beat the CPC again like they did in Toronto Centre. But there is no good news Story for the CPC in these By Elections. Very different from the BC By Election where they nearly caught the LPC napping.

Are you absolutely 100% certain of the above statement?

Harper's Arctic Policy: "use it or lose it"

Perhaps there is a smaller park nearer to where you live to give to Denmark? It is a small country. -
Things about the Tory government which disappoint me.
madmax replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Conservatives were called Tories long before the Progressives showed up. I have to admire that you would start a thread title with such a negative slant, in order to create a real dialogue about the party term in power. -
I think you underestimate the LPC brand and riding association strength. Where the LPC are strong, they can hold off a challenge from any party, no matter what nonsense comes from Dions campaign. THis is not the case with the CPC in Ontario and Quebec. Harpers loose lips cause him to lose elections and he hasn't grown up yet. Money cannot overcome this, unless Mr. Harper is prepared to hide throughout the campaign, the way he has candidates hide during one. Dions going to get stabbed by his own, the party brass is still calling the shots.
-
Word is they are stinking up the joint in the by elections. Have no idea why, but unless there is some kind of campaign blitz, they are not going to any impact and are losing ground to the LPC in Ontario and Quebec. Yes, put the LPC before the country. ..... an imaginary Harper meltdown...... Dion likes Dogs. Screw Kyoto.

What good are the ships without fuel? CPC can't pay for the fuel.

Back to the Thread title. Stephane Dion: How low can you go?

Why would I not believe Dion or any LPC member? I remember the campaign.... hard, very hard against Conservative Wage and Price Controls. I remember their fight against the Conservative Free Trade Agreements. I remember the fight against the Conservative GST. I remember the Red Book that was campaigned upon, even after Chretian left office. Why would I not believe a liberal promise?

From the same Article..... Lets highlight a bit more Finally the article does two things it says vote Green and the NDP will come in 2nd. Still nothing changes, a LPC hold. They have the NDP in 2nd after all that negative attack, then there is a good reason why there has been a number of NDP bashing articles in the riding. To push them out of contention and secure the LPC win, or maybe to push the GPs to front for something completely different. If its kept up, in a riding that is experiencing strong efforts from all four parties, a 5% could make the difference from 1st and last if the LPC stumble in the last week.

Well Blueblood. I got your goat. Sorry for baiting. I don't like the public funding of political parties. I agree with you about spending public monies on public services.

Don't give out all the right answers then hit me up with that especially heading into a weekend. You are going to make me feel guilty. No intent to be personal. The 2006 campaign the NDP challenged the Government of Paul Martin. We agree on that. The LPC didnot ignore the NDP during the campaign, but the LPC did spent more time putting out fires and using the same 2004 strategy in very poorly run campaign. I don't question the LPC tactics, they are real, they attack the little NDP for votes and the NDP know this. What I don't believe is the claim many LPC supporters make, in that the NDP is responsibile for the state of affairs of the LPC. The LPC are not a good opposition party. Unless you consider ABSENT as taking on the Harpre Conservatives. The LPC campaign from the left. Nothing new.

Conservatives Abusing Government Resources

Shall I used the phrase, SULKING IN HIS TRAILER? I prefer hiding, because I know a coward and a bully are often the same. I also know LPC strategy is to attack the smaller parties and avoid the larger ones.

Seems to be alot of controversy about a poll for the Guelph By Election. More details can be found here. http://guelphmercury.blogs.com/guelphvotes/ Essentially a polling firm with no previous polling experience conducting a poll over a 2 week period with no people only computer messaging got some major headlines only to see the Mercury change the Headline to something else later. No Party acknowledge the results as accurate. The poll led people to believe that the LPC were in a commanding lead and the CPC with a 10 point disadvantage. The polling firm has ties to a CPC MPs brother, and was paid for by, well, the brother who is trying to gather new business. Some conclusions were made that the undecided vote would play no factor. Meanwhile the NDP appear to be challenging the LPC in Westmount, but it is still difficult to believe that the NDP can win the riding. No stuff on Saint Lambert. And just while the GPs are saying the Harper announced another BY election to ruin their plans, I know the real reason was to mess up my poll. So, will have to wait for Sept the 8th, then will focus on the 4th by election. Provided we aren't in a full fledged federal election campaign mentality. I think the straw poll looks pretty good, the CPC supporters are bushing it in Guelph. Some LPC supporters are taking happy pills in Saint Lambert. And Westmount looks like this forum and all the spin doctors and prediction sites think the same.

Maybe this...

I am rolling my eyes, over LPC crybabies who blame their parties electoral failure on everyone but themselves and their entrenched corruption with regards to adscam. Only LPC partisans blame others for not securing their own votes. Did you forget that in 2004 when Mr. Harper was hiding in his trailer after calling Prime Minister Martin a supporter of Kiddie porn, and his party was dead in the water with one week to go in the election, the LPC did what any party would do. No they didn't finish off Harper, they went after the NDP. LPC political infighting and an exhausted party bereft of ideas and accountability demonstrated that the LPC realm of entitlement was coming to an end. The arrogance of the LPC led them from Majority, to Minority to Opposition and they have no one to blame but themselves. I never use my violin. Would you like it.

Sure it will

Pick and choose. Quote from the same article.

No time for apologists for incompetence. The new administration will have to clean up the disasters of the "War President".

That is correct. I am not a yes man towards incompetence.
