Chretian was going to eliminate the hated GST. Eliminate=Harmonize Remember.

GST/HST Name changes work in a campaign. Good eh.

Ironic that the thread that offers current tax monies to go towards transit, is being countered by people who believe the best way to deal with a problem is to take their money away. Btw, for those Diesel Crazy, Mexican Buying Bug Loving VW Boneheads. This links for you. http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive....html?series=19 January 2008 There are alternatives to the Liberal Environmental Scam.
-
Kiss my LPC MP goodbye..... $200? You are going to take $200 out of peoples pockets? Brilliant.
-
What about Heating oil. This isn't all about transport. Its a tax on everything. SCAM< SCAM < SCAM the Tax SHift is a scam. Meanwhile, people are giving logical reasons to use lower carbon burning fuels, and you pull out some political BS spin, that if Diesel is taxed, they will use diesel because it is less taxed then the Gas, which won't be taxed at all except for the tax that is already on it, until you change it to the carbon tax., so therefore it is ok to tax diesel, which is essentially home heating oil, which is the real reason why you want to tax diesel, because if home heating oil was taxed and diesel wasn't people would get clever REAL QUICK. It is not very different from propane which pays taxes at the pump, but not by weight for your BBQ tank. After reading the posts, from people who seem to understand and care about the environment, receive a tin ear from knowitall Taxshift spindoctors, it is clear to me, that the LPC is more interested in securing lost revenue from their tax breaks, then caring about the environment. The tax shift is a scam. The Green shift is a lie.
-
With the numbers coming out. This tax appears more and more like the tax abusing, political excuse for an environmental program. I tell you, I read Wilber and (WILDER) and their comments make alot of sense to me. The real reason that Gas is not being taxed at the pump is because the LPC know is political suicide to tax the pump of regular fuel, and now their arguments with regards to diesel are upside down and backwards. What a scam.
-
What Wild Bill. You wouldn't pay more for diesel if it was more environmentally friendly? Shame on you. Shame on you Wild Bill. Take the bus and save the.... hey, Hamilton still have those electric buses..... or are they all diesel?
-
What's that tax on Home Heating Oil?
-
obviously too hard for you to comprehend. Here is how tax shifting works. Now do you understand the difference between Diesel and Gas, and the LPC I have to agree with your comments on the stupidity of punishing people who use Diesel.

She is a long term city councillor with a track record within the community. She has lots of political experience, and her error was to mislead a reporter into believing they hit a "random" street, that just happened to be full of relatives, her mother, father, friends and other family members. You go to a street and meet your family, you tell the reporter, hey, this is my brother, mother, father, cousin, uncle, and move on to the next house. The local paper does not have a "hate on" for her. She shouldn't be so politically stupid for someone with years of experience behind her. She also messed up on a softball question, that every other candidate could hit a home run with. There would have been no problem if Kovach would have told the truth and then not fabricate a story. Remember Chretian with the "I talk to poor people" schtick. It won't change the election results, it just lets people know that she isn't a straight shooter. PS. Thanks for voting

Bush was hanging out with the womans Beach Volley Ball team.

If there is, it would be amongst the riding association. However, her being a city councillor of many years, I am sure she has an organizing team, and certainly the CPC is putting the effort in the riding. I don't think the public cares one way or the other unless they were "friends" of the turfed candidate, or people who wouldn't vote CPC and thus are mocking the party for pleasure.

Conservatives Abusing Government Resources

YUP! Now, it also appears that all parties have gotten involved in this scheme to some degree. The way that they are using these 10%ers is to send them to "targeted" riding. Thus one targeted by the LPC and held by the CPC/BQ/NDP will receive Flyers. The CPC are targeting ridings held by the LPC/NDP/BQ and the NDP are targeting ridings held by the CPC/LPC/BQ ALL ON OUR DIME!!! This isn't right. I have seen supporters here say that this is wrong. I notice blogs that are CPC, LPC and NDP all addressing the same problem. My guess, is many bloggers are like myself, don't realize how deep the abuse gets. That it just isn't in their riding. While I think what is happening in my riding is extreme, getting 37 pieces of CPC literature, there are other people in other ridings receiving similar crap from other parties. Get on the horn, and blow. Unfortuneately, some of the better parts of Reform are gone, and this would be something they would not accept. But now the Reformers are meek CPC MPs who toe the line of Mr. Harper and his propoganda team. Now, after researching this, and seeing all the parties that are involved, it is going to take alot more to get change. Who is on "our side" in correcting this? -
Conservatives cancel $4.7M arts travel program
madmax replied to maldon_road's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I thought I might have read Max Berniers travel expense here. Maybe even Couillard, since she is an artsy media star now. Could you see her getting money to sell her book in France. "I Travelled Afghanistan with an Idiot" Or "Move over SHeila....I am nobody's Babe" Regardless, since the CPC has already blown the budget, is floundering with deficit, why shouldn't they throw out the baby with the bath water. Unfortuneately, they just can't do the same with their own problems. -
Wal-Mart to close unionized store in Quebec

Hmmm. Guyser?, Argus? and.......madmax all on the same page? Did something freeze over? I hate those two guys? -
Did a tour around Guelph. The people are not paying attention to the By Election. There is a very strong LPC prescence. The CPC are known to be strong, but the signs I saw, other then a couple were on Public property. I know the candidate is a city councillor doubling up at the trough, so she should have a solid base in her ward. Guess, I didn't ride through that area.

For the Quiet CPC supporters lurking and not voting in this poll, THis links for you http://news.guelphmercury.com/News/article/364622 RYAN PFEIFFER, GUELPH MERCURY • Knock, knock ..Who's there? Peter MacKay in Guelph to canvass with Conservative candidate Gloria Kovach; BRINGING IN THE BIG GUNS While taking a coffee break at a Tim Hortons on Victoria Road, MacKay said he found the Canadian military involvement in Afghanistan was on the minds of many voters in the city. MacKay made a major military spending announcement in Montreal earlier in the day -- an investment of $292 million to buy six used CH-47D Chinook helicopters to move troops and equipment in Afghanistan, and a further $109 million on two separate leases of unmanned surveillance aircraft, also to aid in the Afghanistan effort, The Canadian Press reported.

Don't hold back Argus. Tell us what you really think. Based on your post, I am willing to bet you would be happy if the UFCW organized all the Walmarts, if only to see Walmart close every store. -

Wouldn't that be great. That would be "New" government. You are right about not whining on the message boards and the action that should be taken. I agree with you completely. I just wanted to get the issue out there, when I realized I wasn't alone on this.
