  1. It's similar to Ontario Liberals wanting to put windmills in Scarborough Bluffs, it's a terrible idea and aren't the Bluffs a heritage site ? I think there's a moratorium on this until October/11 so we'll see what happens after the election, another good reason not to re-elect McGuinty. http://www.savethebluffs.ca/
  2. He has said that they have Canada on them, but I'm not sure why people are all in a flap over $400.00 - really, just more partisan B.S.
  3. Maybe not make it 'right' but it sure speaks to the double standards when it comes to conservatives. Where you all demanding that the Liberals pay for their usage, which was higher. the Liberals claimed that the cost to operate a Challenger was around $2,000 an hour, a lot depends on which side of the fence you're on. Interesting that some want the Conservatives to pay, but didn't make a peep when the Liberals were doling out our taxmoney on their cross country junkets that they didn't reimburse us for. All of this is just more partisan BS from the opposition - Most of estimated charges are a fixed cost that accrues whether the jet is flying or not, making it hard to nail down a true billable hourly rate. Therein lies the problem, maybe the DND should be reimbursed for additional costs over and above the fixed rate but but is it fair that the party in power pay 'fixed' costs for which a budget already exists? That's like charging twice for the same thing. The PMO shouldn't have to pay back anything if jets are used for gov't business. Maybe the other ministers who use themshould pay the incremental costs if it's not government business. if the NDP ever got into power, would they forego all of the goodies or just hitchhike, maybe just let em rust out on the tarmac.
  4. The Court ordered the feds to continue granting the special exemption (from criminal prosecution) for the site, ordering this even though, under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act it's supposed to be a matter for the Minister’s discretion. Thus, it is 'graciously' allowing the gov't to 'regulate' these sites, which is a fundamental change to national drug policy as it widens the use of illegal drugs. Not only that, Canada has been criticized more than once by the UN’s International Narcotic Drugs Control Board, for establishing this site (because it contravenes UN drug treaties ratified by Canada) the S.C. seems to think UN drug treaties ratified by Canada are not binding on us - hmmmm This is an example of an [unelected] SC decision flouting the democratic process using their influence for social change. I would rather the money and resources were spent on rehab centres.
  5. Now that is so true... no matter what McGuinty does or did, it's all Harris's fault Sadly, Ontario seems to be accepting that lying and scams are okay, so if McGuinty is reelected he will take it as a mandate to continue lying, raising taxes, destroying lives with windmills and might even elevate David Suzuki to cabinet
  6. That's a personal attack which ads nothing to a debate.. Surely there is some responsibility on the part of the party importing the stuff, did Quebec just start exporting it since the Tories took power ?
  7. Agreed, I'm not aware of any other memos or directives asking anyone to be sensitive to Christians or Hindus et al. There does seem to be an all out effort to give preferential treatment to one group, and our secular schools and systems be damned.
  8. I agree, Peter Van Loan should be re-elected, immediately if not sooner...
  9. So why are they singling out one religion for special treatment and accommodation ! Christianity and all vestiges of it have been eradicated from our supposedly secular schools. Doubt we'll see a similar memo going around at Easter.
  10. Another decent Muslim here speaking out against extremism, the school is of the Sunni extremist type, and has a location in Buffalo. http://www.chathamdailynews.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3310573 The Buffalo School's site, it's hard core Shariah.... http://www.madania.org/
  11. Wow, someone must've in a time capsule.
  12. The scary scary 'Harris Lite' narrative keeps popping up, just as it did with Harper, and has of course, failed to materialize. I think that one is getting a mite thin LOL
  13. Agreed it's hard to believe he will keep any promise, especially as two MPPs have brought up the carbon tax issue, so it could surface later on, if Dalton is re-elected. Another issue is that of third party end runs around election laws. http://russ-campbell.blogspot.com/2011/09/third-party-election-ads-are-scam.html Should unions which have voting membership in the NDP have every cent of their election spending charged to that party for purposes of the election financing laws ?
  14. Totally agree, one would think only Tory MPs got pensions and so on.. hmmm As far as Challenger jets go, the Tories have nothing on the Liberals, and of course Gov. Jean who used Challengers 8 times for vacations - oh my
  15. Spin - much !!
  16. Yup, but this is the interim leader talking about Islamic law, who knows what will happen to him and who the new leader will be - will there be elections - bet not. I bet also that most of the average Libyans really do want just peace, a job, blue jeans and rock'n roll LOL doubt they'll get it.
  17. I haven't read all of Bob's posts and am not going back to read it all... Whether or not I respond to Bob, says nothing at all about my beliefs, you are making assumptions based on your own preconceived biases. Your posts 'speak volumes' about your own bigotry.
  18. You know what happened to assume doncha !!! get real !
  19. Well, things aren't going all that well in Egypt now are they, as for Libya, they want Shariah law - moderate they say - sure... I doubt that we are helping them out in order for them to establish a barbaric non democratic rule of religious law, that in particular, discriminates against women. Not that we expected a western style democracy, but.... http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/10320213-rebels-want-to-introduce-sharia-law-in-libya more like an Arab winter http://www.aina.org/news/20110508144114.htm how's it going in Egypt now http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/insideisrael/2011/September/Israel-to-Reopen-Egyptian-Embassy-after-Attack-/ http://www.news24.com/Africa/News/Egypt-army-emergency-law-till-June-20110921 http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/middle-east/egypts-military-rulers-assert-wider-powers-in-wake-of-attack-on-israeli-embassy/2011/09/16/gIQADbTIYK_story.html CAIRO — Egypt’s military government is sharply expanding emergency powers to detain people without evidence or official charges, in what critics are decrying as the most significant curbs on personal freedoms here since the fall of Hosni Mubarak.
  20. Liberals generally aren't deep thinkers they get their ideology handed down to them by their political overlords and the likes of the Star and CBC. actually analyzing the news info and researching the background of issues objectively will never be in the cards for these types...their absolute silence in regards to these fascist rants is telling as to their deeper ideological beliefs...
  21. Gosh, look at this Well, we know they don't want Jews in their little state, but now a Palestinian state that won't recognize it's own people ! So you thought that over 60 years of Arabs using the "refugees" as political pawns would end if there was a Palestinian Arab state? I wonder why - hmmm maybe because these "refugees" are just pawns in their war against Israel.. therefore, giving them citizenship takes away their status as pawns and weapons. http://www.dailystar.com.lb/News/Politics/2011/Sep-15/148791-interview-refugees-will-not-be-citizens-of-new-state.ashx#axzz1YgU1GImQ cont..
  22. That's the old bill, the new one was introduced this week, sans internet surveilance.
  23. Badly, and McGuinty has had to buy out some homeowners, and one family is suing. http://windconcernsontario.wordpress.com/
  24. There's talk about an investigation into Solyndra and where the money went. The company that McGuinty might give money too, is also having problems as it has halted production because of slow demand.
