  1. I agree, I really don't support enabling drug users to use illegal products. Surely the money would be better spent on rehab and so on. Should make the drug traffickers happy I guess. I don't get why people think it's okay to enable drug users but would like to see cigarettes banned...
  2. Whatever that means, maybe in the underbelly of the Shwa it means something LOL Whatever turns you on or keeps you happy
  3. Our law, is not 'god given', it's given by man... striking out again huh
  4. Let's hope that the next Insite site to be built will next to the judge's homes.
  5. Not sure about selling it, as the radio portion does serve a lot of communities. IMO they should cut back the funding, they don't have a g.d given right to tax payer money.
  6. Nonsense, the company has to be careful of the wording and are investigating an obvious breach, so if you think it is legally or morally acceptable to steal private information from a company's files, then pass it on to someone else, then I'm sure glad your values (or lack thereof) are not mine. However, if you and your ilk are happy wallowing in your own mud, go for it - whatever keeps you happy.
  7. I try to avoid A/C although I rarely fly anywhere now that we go south. My last flight with A/C was okay in itself, but at the end, the attendants were quite unhelpful and rude towards people requiring wheel chairs. The insurance company had sent me home because of a back problem which required me to use a wheelchair on and off the flight so I witnessed the poor treatment. Long story, but I was appalled at the time.
  8. You are lying, just because you don't like what is said you attack and make malicious accusations so quit with the personal attacks, it was in the news of course, I didn't make it up. employees improperly accessed customer files Then passing on stolen info to a political party - sure - and the union's pretty quiet about it...
  9. Get real... the origian comment was reported in a news article, Air Canada can't talk about it because of privacy issues, we will have to wait to see what comes of it. Either way, it was a breach of privacy by a union employee who leaked the content of his breach of privacy to the NDP. If you all think that such a breach is legal and morally correct, then it's sad, and thankfully you all have no actual say in anything that matters.
  10. BS, I'm going by Air Canada's investigation and comments... you stop making unfounded claims.
  11. It appears that Raitt actually used her own air miles to upgrade, so this has proven no joy for the union or dippers here. It's also time for unions to stop using the public as victims.
  12. The democratic party could benefit from all of this but in so doing won't they have to give up all their campaign donations from big business, Wall St and banks... Did the Obama administration actually prosecute anyone on Wall St. for the financial crisis 2008.
  13. I don't have to provide you with didley squat - if there was no breach of privacy then why is Air Canada investigating that "certain employees improperly accessed customer files" - and that's not illegal - sure. A/C can't discuss more because of privacy issues. Just because you don't like the fact that a union employee has done this and given out this information in order to smear the Minister, doesn't make it untrue. There needs to be an inquiry into how NDP obtained information to which they were never entitled.
  14. Leave it to punked to make an unfounded accusations and a personal attack. So the union or a union employee actually has the right to take the personal information for a passenger and disseminate it to a political party - really I guess that's why A/C is looking into the breach of security. Regardless of a charter challenge, I expect the gov't to step in when necessary to protect us. And you are really asking for a cite confirming that the gov't actually has a responsibility to protect the economy and the people - Actually, the SC (majority) did rule that in one case, that freedom of association does not guarantee the right to strike or bargain collectively. why Minister Rait is legally correct IMO they are morally right also
  15. They don't have a right to obtain personal information illegally in order to disseminate it to the NDP, neither should the NDP be in receipt of stolen property. The gov't has a right to protect commerce and the economical repercussions from such a strike - so yes it doesn't matter to me that they are 'union busting' in this respect.
  16. Haven't read the whole thread, but so far there is no evidence to support any breach of ethics, and yes it is smelly. It's smelly because of the timing (union/striking)and has anyone asked how the NDP obtained personal flight information and have they mentioned that this info was obviously obtained illegally.
  17. Since when has Harper pandered to right wing extremists, that's a hoot... Harper has been governing more like a Liberal gov't, no sign of any 'right wing extremism' - you must be on another planet..
  18. Soooo, you are NOT in favour of reducing the deficit? Say, If the "highly paid bureaucrats" can save we taxpayers some money, way over and above a bonus then I'm all for it. Maybe you would prefer that Harper do as Paul Martin did to slay the deficit - all those in favour of drastically reducing health care and education transfers - say aye
  19. Right, they have always done well with individual donations, yet people still rant on about the CPC being the recipients of corporate donations when it's always been the Liberals who benefited most from them. Harper is doing the right thing, the next thing would be to look at third party advertising and how some organization (e.g. Avaaz ) manage to skirt around them.
  20. So we should've let them die I guess, and if the gov't did so, would you have been happy with them dieing, rather than pay ransom? I know generally that paying a ransom it's not considered the right thing to do, but if it were you family, how would you feel. I feel strongly that had no ransom been paid, the gov't would be the worst SOBs under the sun.
  21. Ignorant knuckle dragging comments seem to be in abundant supply on here also.
  22. You might want to check out the donor's list on E.C., you also might want to check out how much money the NDP received from big labour unions for convention advertising and so on. Financial reports show unions spent more than $400,000 on political ads during the spring federal election campaign. Reports filed with E.C. show us that big labour/unions unions funded third-party ad buys in newspapers, websites and on radio across the country. Provincially it's higher. http://www.therecord.com/print/article/603740 http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/10/05/graphic-the-flow-of-political-donations-in-ontario/
  23. Gosh, and I was wondering if there were any decent left wingers out there LOL BTW, you all do know (probably not) that a Minister is not allowed to speak in the House about a previous ministerial position, which account for him being silent in the House....
  24. Agreed, it's about time this happened.
