Many thanks, but I guess I missed it... darney poo -

I have signatures and images disabled as I find them a huge pain in the butt, they distract from the post. Not only only that they slow down page loading on a slower connection. If images and large signatures are allowed, then the least that should be done is limit their size. I wanted to see peeve's signature to see what the fuss is about, but I couldn't find where the options are now, are they still in the board options ?

NDP - The Flash in the Pan syndrome

Agree about being closer to the election. IMO it will only get better for the Liberals though and if Trudeau winds the leadership we could see the 'second coming'. -
Romney Hates Big Bird
scribblet replied to GostHacked's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I wouldn't get too excited, Obama will wake up for the next one. The foreign policy debate should be interesting, IMO if Romney can win that one as handily as he did this one, it'll be a game changer.. -
I prefer no pics and avatars, they are just a distraction, especially huge pictures. I hope they are limited in size, graphics should be very limited in size, they are a pain. Now will have to go to the board settings to see if I can turn them all off, I have signatures turned off allready. Okay, couldn't find where I turn off avatars and graphics, does anyone know ? thanks.

I noticed that too, apparently I got a warning way back when for calling Ignatieff, Iggy.. sheez, I've seen a lot worse transgressions than that -

The Canadian Medical Association recommends that doctors not perform abortions after 20 weeks gestation, as the fetus may be viable. I was surprised to find that B.C. covers Dilation & Extraction (after 21 weeks - partial birth abortion), I didn't think it was covered at all in Canada. This procedure is rare and not available in all provinces. I can't find any stats on at all actually. http://www.optionscentre.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=50&Itemid=58 http://www.abortionincanada.ca/methods/index.html#DilationandExtraction Dilation and Extraction (D&X) (intact D&E, partial birth abortion) There are no laws in Canada restricting abortion. Since abortion reporting and recording is inconsistent and incomplete across Canada, it is not known if, or how many, abortions occur by this method in Canada each year.

They do lower values, and do cause health problems, don't know about cancer but they do cause other problems. There should be a moratorium on building them until the federal gov't finishes their study. They have also driven up the price for all of us The Sorry Lessons of Green Power Subsidiies Electrical Subsidies Should be Zapped

Cutting funding for abortions
scribblet replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Well, for the left wing extremists, The Canada Health Act (CHA) states that provinces must pay for medically needed services. Abortion, however, is elective surgery and thus not medically required. (in most situations, not all) The Canada Health Act does not require provincial provision or funding of abortions, nor did the Supreme Court rule on who pays for abortions. It's up to the provinces to decide. PEI does not pay, New Brunswick pays for hospital abortions but not private clinic abortions. -

Do you have any stats on that, how many sponsors are behind or just not paying for their elderly relative's health care ? ETA: Interesting info on how much elderly immigrants cost the taxpayers for health care. The CPC have made suggestions about changes, but we know should they put it into affect they would be racist, mean spirited yadda yadda. http://www.vancouversun.com/business/2035/Newcomers+over+costly+memo/6642971/story.html -
I have to agree with that totally, nothing said on forums changes anything or likely changes any one's vote, it means diddly squat. In fact, it might just reinforce one's reasoning and political support.

And then some, I could tell you a few things about him - but I won't publicly. LOL

I think it's disgusting that the opposition are using Kadhr to gain political brownie points. He was taken to Bin Laden's terrorist camps at age 11, he was trained in small arms, AK-47s, PK guns and RPGS. He was a seasoned insurgent, laying land mines intended to kill Canadians and their allies. Some may want to give him a hero's welcome but they could reap what they sow.
-
Charge the parents with indoctrination, wow, that would be a slippery slope. Maybe 'child' endangerment although he wasn't a child. I suppose their views haven't changed, he'll be going back to the same atmosphere and beliefs. Did he go willingly with his father to fight, or was he forced to go under some terrible threat ?
-
IMO over the last few years the rules and guidelines are rarely fully adhered to.
-
The problem with the radicals who are against abortions even for rape or incest is they are so far out that they want to criminalize some forms of contraception because they believe they are 'abortifacients'. That's when I really get my dander up. Canada fortunately doesn't have the number of religious zealots the U.S. does, we do have a few.
-
Sheez, most of this is an opinion, what the heck, in fact after 2 -3 pages most discussions go off on tangents unrelated to the original topic or unrelated to good governance anyhoo.
-
It'll never end, there will always be a group who will fight choice, they believe very strongly that it's murder, they won't stop, ever.
-
I did mean that, he stands a chance of becoming a decent upright citizen if he has a supportive family who can help him to integrate into our society so he can become a good citizen. How likely his family will be able to do that given their terrorist ties/leanings ? Another factor would be his Mosque and what/how they teach him. Having said that, he was a 14 year old soldier who fought against us, not with us, the odds are IMO he's allready too far radicalized.
-
Just as the Liberals are now trying to make partisan hay out of it. IMO he is probably allready too radicalized and could pose a threat. A lot will depend on his family and how they see him and how they try to teach him to live in Canada. ( peacefully as a productive citizen)
-
Now that's funny. What purpose do most of these threads/topics have other than to bring attention to someone's issues or for someone to trump up some issue more than it really is.
-
Obviously Mr. Mulcair recognizes that Canada needs the pipeline, as does Ontario, he is seeing the error of his ways ( or seeing where the votes are LOL ) http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/politics/archives/2012/09/20120927-205705.html

Cutting funding for abortions
scribblet replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I don't know for sure, but I kinda doubt it, in fact according to this http://www.guelphforlife.com/abortion.html What are the most common reasons for performing abortions in Canada? According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute, over 90% of abortions are done for socio-economic reasons. Less then 1% are done for reasons of rape or incest He does have a point, unless it's rape, incest or health reasons it is an elective. I doubt any gov't would go there, it would be a political loser.
