  1. The error didn't last long, less than a year, the Conservatives corrected it twice ( or 3) times since 2006 will this be the 4th... This is only CHMC right, people can still load up on debt with a private lender.
  2. I'd like to know why this is coming up now, as way back when, his campaign was cleared and signed off on, by E.C. Why didn't EC find anything then...
  3. They did, so did Trudeau.
  4. It's just part of the narrative, I think I'll start referring to the dippers as CCF/dippers. IMO they didn't accomplish anything except waste time and money, but if it helped them feel good - what the hey. Canadians elected a strong conservative majority gov't which the opposition parties just can't get over and accept, they are still in denial. They hate that they can no longer dismantle Conservative initiatives in standing committees where they no longer hold a majority. If the opposition had tabled a number of well thought out amendments and debated those amendments seriously, they might have been able to make a case. Tabling over 500 deletion amendments is such an obvious obstruction tactic the opposition richly deserved to lose.
  5. That's a blog and pure speculation... As for some of the bile in this thread - Toto - I'm not in Kansas anymore
  6. I'd like to see Mulcair clarify that position. Just saw this, I suppose Hansard would have the actual quotes... http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2012/06/08/19853256.html
  7. I agree with that, by leaving the Liberals in the lurch now he's thinking more of himself than the future of the party, not to mention breaking a promise. Bob Rae is pretty good in the House as a speaker and he is pretty smart. (well until he turns purple with apoplexy - ) Not sure about the age thing, he would only be 67 by 2015 right!
  8. This is just an attempt too undermine a legitimately elected gov't, if the opposition wins the next election by a similar margin, it will be perfectly okay doncha know.
  9. So far nothing has been proven in court, I'll wait to see what happens. However, the larger question here is how did that dynamic duo get court sealed documents ?
  10. Good for Mr. Harper - and rightly so
  11. Juveniles - maybe he just wanted a foot in the door LOL
  12. And you are not of course LOL
  13. Whoda thunk it - it's okay to bring up personal issues when it's a conservative but oh my, don't touch the dippers. Of course it was okay to talk about Vic Toew's personal life, okay to talk about Ms. Guergis and her mortgage - remember Robert Fife - hmmm maybe he thinks the ethics commissioner should be involved in this one. If conservatives are fair game when it comes to personal issues, then so is Mulcair.
  14. Yes, I don't know what they can do now to forestall riots and violence if Zimmerman should be acquitted. Is it possible with this new evidence and an unethical prosecutor that they could somehow plea bargain for a lesser charge of manslaughter without it going to a trial? How on earth can they hope to get a decent jury. I don't think Zimmerman should get away scott free but it doesn't appear that they will be able to get the murder charge to stick. Surely there is something they can do to come to some arrangement and forestall violence. Any juror would know that if they did acquit Zimmerman they could be targetted, who would want to be on that jury !!!
  15. The prosecutor should be charged for withholding evidence and so on. I listened to Dershowitz tonight and a video clip. There has been a real mess up with this and the media hasn't helped. Zimmerman was arrested and taken away in handcuffs at the time but released. The prosecutor has withheld evidence and has now raised expectations so high that even if convicted of a much lesser charge we can expect violence and riots. No reasonable jury would convict him based on this evidence and Florida law, but another problem of course is finding a reasonable jury. http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/drop-george-zimmerman-murder-charge-article-1.1080161
  16. How intolerant, I thought tolerance was a two way street (or more)..
  17. He didn't mug him for his phone for pete's sakes, he just chased after him so the reporter threw it down. If I caught someone skulking around my property taking photos I'd chase after him too. There's a difference between reporting and stalking someone and their family, including his 78 year old mother. If the reporter had any integrity he'd ask Ford first, the Star is being simply inappropriate in it's actions. Filming Ford going into a KFC and making it a lead story is hardly hard news and decent reporting, it's just over the top behaviour we've come to expect from this paper. The Toronto Star loses all control of its bodily functions today in its determination to meet the world’s demand for more information on its inane tiff with Mayor Rob Ford.
  18. Well, this thread isn't about policy and issues, it's about a reporter and a paper with a personal vendetta. I'm with Ford on this one and see the Star losing integrity over it, the have lost it.
  19. Debating policies and issues are one thing, attacking a politician or anyone because of their weight is another. Hatred of Ford has gone beyond policy and issues it's way beyond normal discourse, it's just visceral hatred with little or no logic to it.
  20. Maybe we should call this "Ford derangement syndrome" LOL
  21. usual double standards.
  22. Well said !!! I really don't see how it's appropriate to make fun of people with weight problems, nor do I see how it adds to the issue of good governance or good political discourse. The Star's cartoon is as inappropriate as many of the inane comments on here.
  23. You guys can really let your imaginations run wild. He's trying to buy a small slice of public land so he can erect a security fence, that's all. Obviously he needs more security. Ford has security video (noon news) showing the reporter at the fence taking pictures, they have gone too far with the harassment and personal vendetta, this is shoddy and over the top. Never mind, there'll be 90 or more pages of speculation, innuendo and fabrications.
  24. http://www.newstalk1010.com/News/localnews/blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10379434 Doug Ford says the reporter Daniel Dale was standing on a cinder block looking into the backyard. It doesn't matter if it was public land, it's intent and suspicious behaviour - why don't you hang around a school yard taking pictures and see how that goes.
