There used to be a saying that behind every great man there was a great woman. Don't know what your issue is, but I would wager any husband would say that his wife is his greatest ally and friend. Now are you going to tell me that Harper picked out that "gay" blue sweater he wears in his ads. Oh and doesn't he have a woman for a stylist and image consultant? Right! Let's all get some guns, down a quart of Jack Daniels, jump into our 10mpg SUV's and Hummers and then drive around shooting anything that moves. Next we can lock up all the 13yr olds experimenting with pot, and all the 15 and 16yr olds having sex with each other. Then we can build some internment/re-education camps for the gays, to get them off the streets and away from our children. After that we will execute all the abortion doctors and burn down their clinics. Then after we have shipped all the immigrants back to their homelands, how about we remove the right to vote from the women so they won't have to worry their pretty little heads over "man stuff". After we have taken this country back to the dark ages it will be safe for the macho man to once again walk the streets with his six-shooter at his side and his woman two steps behind him.

Harper loves power and control. Witness the lack of freedoms one has as an MP for the CPC. HE has a few trusted attack dogs who he turns loose with a few pre-scripted responses that cover most questions faced in the HoC. All Press conferences are scripted and only "friendly" media are allowed to ask easy questions. HE makes rules that apparently apply to all but him and his party. What he condemed in the past is OK for his party to do in the present. HE is very adept at hoodwinking the general public into believing he is giving them something, while he takes it back down the road. He has done a good job of making a mockery out of our parliamentary system while managing to avoid being held accountable for it. This is the control and behaviour he exercises within a minority Govt.. I shudder at the thought of him with absolute power in a majority.

How quickly we all forget his speach to the republicans. What was it he called Canada again? A Welfare state? And he claimed the republicans were a "shining beacon". He is as right as they come, he is only playing nice to get his majority.

How can you say there is nothing two tier about one group being given rights and freedoms others are not? McHale is right, on one point anyway. There is a two tier system of justice and law in Canada. What you can do and get away with as a Native, like occupy land and fish/hunt without a license, you cannot do as any other race in Canada. It does not matter if you are Asian or South American or African. The simple fact of the matter is that Natives have rights that other Canadians don't. As for the illegal occupation of land, are you telling me that if a group of any other race or a mixture of every other race were to the pull the same stunt the Natives are pulling in Caledonia they wouldn't be tear gassed and hauled away? Because we all know that is exactly what would happen.

Yes the gun registry...Is this the same one that gets accessed thousands of times a year by law enforcement and been acknolwedged as a useful tool? As for "lying criminals", well the CPC has a few investigations going on into campaign finance and MP bribery right now. The lying part...well start with their promise of integrity and then inticing Emerson to cross the floor only hours after being elected as a Liberal.
