Who's Doing What?

No, I have no illusions about CPC honesty and integrity, however the smartest thing for them to do is keep quiet. As long as they do, the cops can't prove anything.

The only reason the story broke was because the tape was leaked to get exposure for the book. Don't you understand how the world works? What better way to get exposure for your book than to have a juicy piece of it splashed across every TV and Newspaper for a week? IF the publisher/author hadn't leaked the tape there would be nothing. This was no "pseudo-scandal" of the Liberals making.

The bottom line and sad fact of this matter is that with Cadman dead everything he told his wife and daughter is just hearsay. Unfortunately as long as the CPC keep quiet there simply is not enough evidence to lay charges or go to trial.

The CPC won't win a libel suit. Burdens of proof are different. Harper said they were going to make him an offer. Besides I don't think the CPC want their dirty laundry aired any time soon. I doubt this goes any further.

You just don't get it. The Liberals said the CPC offered a bribe to Cadman. Harper says the CPC was going to make Cadman an offer. Just because there is not enough physical evidence to warrant charges, in no way makes what the Liberals said wrong. No one knows what the offer was, which I think would be a key part of making any case. Who exactly from the CPC made the offer is another big point that I don't think I have ever heard. Still if there is no doubt an offer was made, then it was a bribe. Just because the case falls apart because there is not enough evidence, is no reason to celebrate. The Govt. is still getting ripe. Oh, and I don't attack everything the CPC govt. does. Within my last 30 posts I have said they "had some good ideas".

OK after skipping making a reply to your previous three posts on this, I have to remind you that Harper is on tape admitting that the CPC was making an offer to Cadman. How is it smear tactics when the Party leader admits they were making an offer to an MP to garner his support for a confidence vote?

No evidence, except Harper admitting they were making Cadman an offer. The rest would be hearsay, since the person who recieved the offer is dead. Kind of convenient.

Funny how during the Cadman affair the Liberals were quite open about repeating what they said inside the HoC, outside in the media scrums, even though Harper had already threatened to sue. Have you even watched a question period? I quit watching regularly around a year ago after it was obvious that the CPC was empty and hollow and the only thing they could do was repeat "The previous Liberal Govt....." or simply behave like a ten year old in the school yard "I know you are, but what am I?" They make a total mockery of our political system everytime they open thier mouths. Which is a shame because they have had a few good ideas. They also had some real bad ones, no one is perfect, but their everyday behaviour is just rediculous.

Right she was a failed candidate for her party's leadership. She was obviously one of the top people in the party if she even ran for the leadership, so why would you stick a high profile person like that in some obscure corner of the HoC when she comes over to your party? Sorry I just don't agree with your last statement. I think the statement is more unbalanced than the reality.

lol I totally missed the connection. But don't you think if Dion were to walk around with a pair of 40DD twins on his arms his manly image would improve? I am sure he is a great person but he just looks like the last guy you pick for a team in gym class. What is worse, giving an MP who was elected a year before and now in conflict with her/his party a position in your cabinet if they choose your party over another or sitting independant. Or, Within hours of running for another party in a federal election, intice a member who happens to have won in a region you need exposure to jump to your own party? For me the biggest difference is timing. Emerson had just run an election as a Liberal. It was as if the CPC had TWO candidates for his constituency. The people in his riding voted for a Liberal and within hours of being elected he switched and became a Conservative. To me that smacks of complete dishonesty, and the riding should have been put up for election again. As for Stronach it was documented before the cross over that she was having difficulties within the CPC. She had mentioned that there were things the CPC wanted to do that didn't bode well for her constituents. It was not like on Monday she was elected as a CPC MP and on Wednesday she switched to the Liberals. There were other issues that drove her out of the CPC. The Liberals simply put an offer on the table and she accepted. The overlying issue in all of this is how the CPC reacted when Stronach crossed the floor. She was basically defiled. Now here comes the CPC getting elected on INTEGRITY and ACCOUNTABILITY and within hours they pull the same kind of crap they totally freaked out about when Stronach crossed. Hypocrisy at it's finest.

I have nothing against this woman. She looks like a hot dish any man in power would like on his arm. So she dated some bikers. It really isn't a big deal except that we are talking about a Govt. official who is our Minister of Foreign Affairs. At the very least with her questionable past she should have been interviewed by someone. It isn't like she would be smuggling pounds of heroin into Canada using her position with Bernier, but it could happen, and I think that is what the stuffed suits are up in arms about. Now if only Dion or Layton could bag himself a pair of twin strippers. I bet that would actually help them in popularity. LMAO

HAhahahaha Oh man I love you CPC'ers. Would it matter to you if on two different occasions your house was broken into? On one occasion they steal a $1000 worth of your wifes jewelry and on the second occasion they stole $5000 worth of electronics. Aren't both crimes? Aren't both illegal and punishable by law? Isn't the sanctity of your home violated both times? So the Liberals were better theives. They stole more money. They also had over and extra decade to set up their "marks" than the CPC has had. For only having a minority Govt. in power for a couple of years they are doing pretty well. The bottom line is both party's are/were crooks. It is like I am saying, "That guy killed 2 innocent people he is a bad man." Then CPC supporters say, "Well Hitler killed 6 million innocent people so he was worse, and by comparison the guy who killed only two people is an OK guy."

As far as I am concerned Harper lost a good chunk of integrity within hours of being elected when he brought Emerson over. This was the exact thing he said was "dirty" under the Liberals. Since then he has shown that instead of transparency this Govt. thrives on secrecy, and when it comes to accountability there just simply is none. MP's under fire are not allowed to answer questions, people who ask the tough questions get sued, and everytime something gets brought up that they are ashamed of, or have no excuse for, they simply cry...(everybody now) B-B-But the LIBERALS......

LMFAO. When was the last time a Govt. sued people who wanted to investigate it, so that they could avoid answering questions in the HoC, or to simply bully the people asking questions? Funny though, I don't remember the Liberals saying at every turn they were going to be Accountable, Transparent and have Integrity. Nothing wrong at all with natives assimilating. In fact I would encourage all natives to join our society instead of clinging to a lost lifestyle that was barely sustainable way back when.

Love how you conveniently ignore the part about the CPC promises to have integrity, accountability, and transparency. But ofcourse you would have to ignore it. Because if you ackowledged it you wouldn't have to ask the question you did. The stench is from the lack of integrity, accountability and transparency. I don't know if there was wrongdoing involving the biker chick or not. Frankly I don't care. What I do care about is the stupid childish games this Govt. continues to play whenever questioned on anything. By not allowing members to be held ACCOUNTABLE, and showing no TRANSPARENCY when it comes time to answer questions, the CPC has effectively lost any INTEGRITY they might have had to the general public. Born Blue Con's as yourself would never care what the party does as long the Liberals weren't in power, but to a lot of Canadians the behaviour of this Govt. is starting to smell rotten.

Stealing and corruption is stealing and corruption. Just because one group/person took more, it does not exscuse the actions of the other. Adscam is too recent to be forgotten? How is it then that you have apparently already forgotten the CPC platform from the last election? You know the one about Integrity, Accountability and Transparency. The CPC themselves, not the Liberals, set the standard for what we could expect during their last campaign, now you want to sweep it under the rug and allow them to be the same old corrupt, dishonest Government they replaced, without reminding them of what they promised Canadians. The "Liberal stench" isn't alone in the air over Ottawa. The CPC are getting pretty ripe themselves.
