How the Conservatives will win their majority

Don't look but he is in the room next to you. -
Will real conservatives please stand up

I was pointing out their elitist ways when they announced their GST rollback. Sure it sounds great, but when you run the numbers a GST rollback only favours the wealthy. I haven't spent enough in two years to save what Richboy Millionaire saved in GST on his new Ferrari in one day. -
Support for a Coalition Goverment Now at 50%

And ofcourse your feelings towards politically left leaning people are always fluid and you take each individual one at a time and get know them, and listen to them and don't just lump them into a group labelled "Lefties". Your post is so soaked in hypocrisy I am checking under my monitor for a puddle. -
Stephen Harper's Hypocritial Oath
Who's Doing What? replied to Progressive Tory's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well that's because it isn't really him running the country. Puppets only need to be smart enough to remember their lines. -
Bottom line is that as the "good guys" in this or any conflict we have to hold ourselves to a higher level of conduct than what we can expect in return from the other side. Shooting a wounded, unarmed man for any reason other than mercy is not behaviour that is becoming a soldier of our armed forces. We should know better and behave better because we simply have to be better than what these people lived through before. When the general populace sees us as being just as bad as the Taliban and foreigners to boot, I have no doubt the level of suicide bombings and IED's will skyrocket. More of our brave young people will be coming home in coffins, in stead of coming home alive. We have to maintain a high level of ethics even if the other side doesn't. In the end it is what really seperates us from them.

Tory MP Rod Brinooge abortion bill
Who's Doing What? replied to DrGreenthumb's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So we ban abortion, what then? Do we ban the morning after pill aswell? There will be thousands of new babies, born into families who either didn't want them or were not ready for them. The tax payers will be handing out billions more in beer and popcorn money. Not to mention the hefty mothers allowance for those who don't or can't work. Stupid, stupid idea. Personally I don't want to go back to the days of young women dying because they used a coathanger to give themselves an abortion in their bathroom. -
The option of Proroguing Parliament

Typical bully behaviour. When bluff and bluster fail to work they run and hide. Enjoy your holidays Mr. Soon-to-be-Ex PM Harper. -
Liberals looking for new leader

MAD COW BEEF!!! We Ontarians slammed back tons of the stuff when the US slammed it's door and almost crippled Alberta's cattle industry. While we are at it how about the train loads of hay we Easterners sent west to keep your cattle and horses fed during a severe drought. You people out west might have a hate on for us here in the east but the fact of the matter is we always bail your ass out of any jam you get into. No need to thank us, we're just being Canadian. -

Tories brace for deficit, plan to share blame
Who's Doing What? replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes, let's honour tha welfare crackhead parents who breed non-stop, and are the reason the system is so screwed. I can't wait to see the wisdom spouted by little Jimmy after watching his drunken father smack his pill popping mom around. Ofcourse chances are little Jimmy will be hooked on drugs or alcohol by the time he is 16 so atleast what he has to say should be entertaining. -
Have you been drinking? 'Cause your post has nothing to do with what you quoted other than one reference to the bailout of the banks.

Tories brace for deficit, plan to share blame
Who's Doing What? replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
So enlighten us then, since you appear to know it all, where'd the money go and how much did it generate? Pikking on summ-one's uce uf the inglish langooage iz pettee. -
So it was a bailout? Look either we bought the bloody mortgages from the banks or the feds gave the banks a multi billion dollar bailout. You can't have it both ways. Now which friggin way is it?
-
No money down No money down Kind of blows your theory out of the water.
-
But the bank doesn't own the mortgages anymore. The Govt. will have to "hire a company to look after them , auction them off, sell them thru an agent, get out of them as fast as possible"
-
So the no money down signs I saw around town were false advertizing? How are they going to afford it with no job? Recession, remember?
-
Did the govt. not just purchase a bunch of mortgages? When you default on a mortgage the mortgage holder ends up with the house.
-
I used to do reno's and it is not uncommon for people who are losing the home to quit looking after the home. There could be thousands of dollars in repairs and upgrades. The more that needs to be done the lower the value of the property. Add in the recession and the house could sit on the market for months or even more than a year. That means, any groundskeeping, property tax, water, hydro, heat is all coming out of the taxpayers pockets. I think you are thinking of homes that have had a downpayment plus 10-15 years of mortgage paid down on them. Those might not be too bad, but those are not the people in trouble. The ones in trouble are the ones who bought with no money down or as little as 5% within the last 5 years and now can't afford them anymore. IF someone just bbought a house 2 years ago they might have $15,000 of the mortgage paid down. I really foresee property values dropping much more than that if we go into a recession as half as bad as most are predicting. I would think their policy is "You pay your money and you take your chances."

Who's Doing What? replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Both spend like "drunken saliors, and think the govt should be able to tell people what is right(christian) and wrong(anything not deemed acceptable by the bible). Give Harper credit though he has been smart enough to keep his "firewall around Alberta" mouth shut and stick to more politically acceptable ideas. -
Harper needs to step down

WTF are you smoking? Canada was the aggressor in WWII? Only if you ignore the first 4+ years of the conflict where Germany overran most of Europe. Launching a counter offensive to liberate conquered nations is not being the aggressor. As for Serbia I do believe that was also in response to genocide. So just how the hell does that make them an aggessor. Kicking the ass of some tyrant who has commited crimes against humanity is far from being an aggressor in a conflict. You sound like the school yard bully who goes running to the teacher after the kid he has terrorized for the last 6 months finally breaks his nose.
