  1. Be careful what you wait for. It's pretty clear from the language here that many MAGA supporters want the Democratic party banned altogether.
  2. Except that you've proven yourself unable to debate such things objectively, ostensibly because of an imagined victim mentality. Go and focus on your objectivity before you make proclamations about things not being "matters of debate".
  3. Michael Bryant, Kevin O'Leary... Let's everyone pick some random names...
  4. Maybe next time they do this, we can find a contrary cite and post that. Case closed.
  5. RIGHT ! All that stolen money returned, and all the savings too. Or maybe it was just bluster ?
  6. You had 'liberals' against the Hayes Code but supporting the Woke Code. That's the difference I see first off. There is some value in establishing humility and decorum as a cultural standard. Another thought @August1991 is that maybe the artists buy in to the woke code ? That would be a different dynamic
  7. https://www.natesilver.net/p/trump-approval-ratings-nate-silver-bulletin Trump's net disapproval is heading into record territory. Last time this happened, he improved it by mass arresting Mexicans who had outstanding parking tickets. Anyone's guess as to to what will happen next...
  8. And Trump's campaign manager Manafort was directly colluding with Russian agents (Kilimnik) to gain Russian aid for the campaign per the Senate Intel Committee Report. Cite: The Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee concluded in August 2020 that Manafort's ties to individuals connected to Russian intelligence while he was Trump's campaign manager "represented a grave counterintelligence threat" by creating opportunities for "Russian intelligence services to exert influence over, and acquire confidential information on, the Trump campaign."[34]  On May 13, 2020, Manafort was released to home confinement due to the threat of COVID-19.[35] On December 23, 2020, U.S. President Donald Trump pardoned Manafort.[36][37][38] Last sentence is key.
  9. Also, the Mexicans be so lazy I can't even find any in the Home Depot parking lot... 😡
  10. I'm convinced they do it to to upset people. There's the morality for you.
  11. It's the morality that nobody could follow, if they have any logic at all. If you express concern at aid for the poor is being cut off, it's because you pretended to care. Meanwhile, they express concern about a dead sex trafficker, while excusing and electing a known sexual predator. I'm long past the point where I could follow any of this. Luckily it's not my country.
  12. That's led me to add laugh emojis to MAGA tribesmen who absolutely wail about the immortality of immigration, climate change mitigation and bike lanes.
  13. I had never heard of this until today.. Trump jokes to a 10-year-old girl that he he's going to be " dating her in 10 years". Such strange behavior, I don't know anyone who would say that.
  14. I live in one. I think it's understandable for people to fear what intimidation of public officials will lead to. The only question is for us to establish a baseline for when to act.
  15. It seems to me that there's anecdotal evidence of a declining atmosphere in the public sphere. For us to assess the subculture of school board engagement, I think we'd need a third party investigation using data. I'm not saying that either side is better than the other in the context of this local controversy. Seems like a lobby group is central to the dispute though.
  16. Do you have a cute? Seems like the original article would have quoted extenuating circumstances if there were any. Assuming Fox News conducts responsible journalism of course.
  17. This seems like a standard issue. Blustery politician. I wouldn't trust anything he says, on the surface. Also from Wikipedia: " On March 19, 2024, Higgins voted NAY to House Resolution 149 Condemning the illegal abduction and forcible transfer of children from Ukraine to the Russian Federation." The nature of politics today is that information is bifurcated, the groups providing it are either with you or against you. Objectivity died, journalism and academic research are vilified, facts must be generated by people who are part of our tribe only. In order to have a political discussion, you have to start with something that's acceptable to a reasonable person.. and then discuss the implications. Politicians from either side who make blustery comments for show are Central to our epistemic crisis.
  18. Despite 60+ years of coverage, no feasible alternative theory remains to the lone gunman theory. And yet people still stare at their shoes in wonder for some reason. In doing so, they fuel a cottage industry in conspiracy that does damage to national unity. Blame the left for that one, although the right really ramped up the conspiracy thinking. How much time have you for for this stuff Auguste ? My question is to you only.
  19. You're defining 'anecdotal' evidence here. If it's a pervasive problem then a system response is needed. Nothing wrong with reporting individual instances of behaviour to make sure that the system deals with them but quite another to say that these are meaningful. And all thinking people need to help differentiate such things.
  20. For ten minutes until it's deleted. And of course any government department need only be assessed with a one-sentence summary reflecting ideological stereotypes....
