Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Why not? They're able to measure volcanic emissions. And they know how much carbon we are Emitting. It's a direct correlation. -
https://www.thestate.com/news/politics-government/article209778509.html Pay to play is how Congress works. Anybody who thinks campaign finance is a problem with one party sleeps in the vat of Kool-Aid.

Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is the problem: voters like D can't conceive of the concepts around risk. Put your hand up if you wear a seat belt. 👋 -
Did he? The spectacle is the reason. An endless Mashup of meaningless events, meant to beguile the clueless. DOGE, big beautiful Bill, ICE, tariffs on and off constantly, bombing Iran, ultimatums everywhere... A kaleidoscope of chaos, a fun house of geopolitical horrors...

Alaska 2025: Trump-Putin Handshake, 1972 Nixon-Mao?
Michael Hardner replied to August1991's topic in The Rest of the World
Nxon meeting Mao was a revelation, and an upheaval in the geopolitical roadmap. It's hard to say what Trump understands. I just listened to an interview between Ezra Klein and Kayla Scanlon. She submits that Trump is a human algorithm, trying many tactics at once and with his own feedback loops: stock market, FOX, Truth Social... Klein points out that Trump is unable to focus. "Listen to how he talks", ie. He can't keep a constant line of thinking beyond a few sentences. It's long and not conclusive, but the current Zeitgeist is barely fathomable. So there's only so much to be understood, even by bright young people. I believe that earth-shifting pervasive change is happening and it will take a generation, plus the death of the boomer generation to balance out. One hour. Check it out: -
Doug Ford participated in the York Region PRIDE celebration. Mr. Canada was a poster here years ago who said that he was going to attend PRIDE in Toronto with a video camera to record men having public sex, so he could do his duty and submit the evidence to the police. 🤔 Okaaaaaay, Mr. Canada. Shortly after, Anthony banned him. Then a poster named taxme joined, using a VPN to mask his IP address. Taxme has never acknowledged being the same poster.

Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You characterize me as a screaming baby, and accuse me of being irrational? How about starting by acknowledging my point that one of your side is indeed denying mad made climate change? If we can't agree on the basics, we can't move forward. -
Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The poster named Deluge did dispute it, on the next page after your post. Quoted: "Then you already understand that the idea of man-made climate change is bullshit? " The problem with democracy is that there are a lot of people who don't take things seriously, and they have far too much influence. -

It is a shame... We didn't do enough to educate people.... 😔 -
Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
1. What do you expect? 2. You're going to wait until there are giant catastrophes? Okay. 3. We don't have that. But it's not reasonable to expect like something at that level of detail. I mean people already decry the doom and gloom predictions. And they also reject any tie-in between current events and climate. -

Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Typo. The CO2 point, meaning that if CO2 ever goes the other way and temperatures do as well.... Which would be many lifetimes from now. You really need to be specific in your language. Yes, it does have to do with human causation. No, it does not have anything to do with the Earth being destroyed. It is for conversational reasons, but it's an important conversation after all. -

My link does not do that. Why are you unable to make any kind of discussion without putting false claims on me? It is tiresome. -
Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural?
Michael Hardner replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Well he died 5 years ago. He did have a point, however he also used to say the temperature wasn't increasing. That point was proven, false, and probably the CO2 1 point will be also. Even if his claim that we shouldn't associate greenhouse effects with atmospheric warming are correct... I mean at some point you do have to do something. -

Scientific questions are different from economic questions which are different from activism. You shouldn't be so hysterical about this, and try to look at the problem soberly. See my link.
