  1. Stereotypes like the one you so callously used above is the problem. You not me.
  2. Provinces don't go bankrupt. Canada is a federation. All for one, one for all.
  3. I wonder if the BCTF will campaign in BC against the CPC?
  4. “For far too long, we’ve had a government and a prime minister in Ottawa that does not, has not, reflected the views of the vast majority of Canadians,” Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario president Sam Hammond said.

What would he know about it? Elementary school kids can't vote.

Yeah throughout the 90's we had a PM that didn't either.

  5. Cheating is accepted in our society, so what's the big deal?
  6. Great point. I would rather kids be raised by parents than by the state.
  7. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/08/20/ontario-public-high-school-teachers-and-province-reach-deal.html Here's a link form the Toronto Star with regards to the settlement. I have posted a link to the Right Wing National Post; the Centrist Globe; and the left wing Star. I've read through the comments and I noticed some similarities. Most of the comments are by people who are angry at teachers. As far as I'm concerned, teacher unions are definitely needed, but they are coming across as bullies. I'm disappointed that I was once a stooge of the teachers' union. And the people running the unions are very well paid. It almost seems that they have to produce anger among teachers to keep the union relevant. Fake anger at that.
  8. I just spoke to a few of my neighbours who were undecided by really don't like Harper. It seems they dislike unions more as they said this news will force them to hold their nose and vote CPC.
  9. “For far too long, we’ve had a government and a prime minister in Ottawa that does not, has not, reflected the views of the vast majority of Canadians,” Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario president Sam Hammond said.

  10. Also, some teachers i Ontario have reached a tentative deal. No strike. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/education/ontario-secondary-school-teachers-union-province-reach-tentative-deal/article26030209/
  11. It looks like Ontario's teacher unions are ramping up their campaign to defeat Harper and the CPC. This is a big block of Ontario voters, and now that it looks like peace has been made with Wynne, this could give JT and the NDP the numbers they need to defeat the CPC; or will it do more harm to these parties. I guess we should all be glad union dues are tax deductible. http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadian-politics/ontario-teachers-unions-taking-on-stephen-harper-with-pledges-to-campaign-against-conservatives
  12. I thik there has to be more incentives for parents to raise their own kids. I don'y know what those would look like though.
  13. CTV has learned that secondary school teachers will be getting a raise with the new deal.
  14. When the Great Depression began in 1929 people suffered terribly, but all the money was still there, but for a lot of really dumb reasons wasn't spread around....until WW2 when all of a sudden there was lots of capital to fight Germany, Italy and Japan. Where did that capital come from? If Canada has tied itself too closely to world markets, like it seems to have done, we will suffer. (not like the Great Depression, hopefully) Canada needs to create an attitude of independence.
  15. 23 EM markets are in meltdown. Commodity prices are collapsing. EM currencies are falling. EM central banks have lost control of their currencies. A massive global deflation is occurring which is exposing massive debt. The US dollar's rise is killing American exports and a rate hike by the Federal Reserve will only exacerbate the problem. News on all this is rarely, if ever, reported by the mainstream media. The world is experiencing a massive deflation resulting from the over-creation of fiat money without a corresponding increase in economic growth to support it. Asset and commodity prices are over-inflated. The air is coming out of virtually all assets simultaneously. If this trend continues, the amount of debt left exposed will cause another financial crisis, the scale of which will dwarf what happened in 2008.
  16. Progressive silk stockinged socialist waldo, imagine if the Mainstream Media party ignored the real far left agendas of the NDP and Liberals, and essentially lied about the extent to which the leftist parties agendas would damage the economy of Canada to such a degree that enough Canadians were duped to embrace a touchy feely Mulcair regime. You can imagine the betrayal that many Canadians would soon feel toward the stenographers of the 4th Estate like yourself, when Carbon taxes kick in, a multi-multi billion tax pay dollar union run Day Care indoctrination behemoth spreads like cancer from coast to coast, and Canada plunges to the basement of the G8. Jobs will be lost, the middle class will be bankrupted trying to heat their homes and commute to work, interest rates and the debt will soar sky high, but you, waldo, will share a glass with your buddy Peter Mansbridge and pat each other on the back for having done whatever it took to defeat the Conservatives. You are not as clever as you think, waldo, since your bias has never been in doubt and Canadians other than your progressive brethren, will not be swayed by the propaganda of the Media party. Look Waldo! A squirrel!
  17. Let me remind you that during one of the worst global economic times since the depression of the 30's, Canada was the only nation NOT suffering the consequences because of the Harper government policies in place. And most thinking, mature and responsible Canadians were bloody grateful for that.
  18. This year, the UN is putting out it's Agenda 2015 for a new world order. Many other geo-political and theo-financial occurrences are culminating this year. Know this that markets are driven either by fear or greed.

  19. Mulcair is a dictator? http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2015/08/17/bruce-hyer-thomas-mulcair_n_7996188.html?ir=Canada+Politics
  20. 15,000 accounts used email addresses ending in .mil or .gov, indicating a member of the U.S. military or U.S. government employee; 273,320 email addresses ending in “.ca,” indicating a Canada-based domain; 163 accounts used emails ending in @forces.gc.ca, the domain used by the Canadian military; Hundreds of email addresses are associated with Canadian federal departments and agencies, including justice, public works, the Canada Revenue Agency and the RCMP. At least one Canadian MP was registered by name. Several email addresses attached to the Senate were registered although not under any sitting senators’ names. There were also municipal government email addresses, including 78 in Toronto, 41 in Ottawa and 32 in Calgary. Dozens of university email addresses are also included. In the U.K., 92 Ministry of Defence email addresses showed up, as well as 1,716 from universities and colleges; In a testament to the unreliability of the data, [email protected] was among the email addresses. Ashley Madison does not verify email addresses, allowing users to sign up with whatever email they please.
  21. Many Iranians still are fiercely loyal to the Persian culture. I know many good Iranians who are proud of their Persian heritage. However ... this has nothing whatsoever to do with the current totalitarian regime ... with whom Obama has cut a deal, and against whom, when they were hammering down on the populist Green Movement, he had nothing to say. Obama shows himself to be no friend of that ancient (and non-Islamic) culture.
  22. But by paying more in taxes they are doing more for the collective good of the nation.
  23. Back to United States Politics What I like about Rand, Christie and Trump: They all excite large parts of the electorate on conservative issues. That does not mean they are all neck-deep conservatives; more like knee-deep -- but they communicate it well and they have the gloves off. And the side benefit is that while they are getting the base stirred up they also taking each other out, for the real conservative candidates to finish the race. So ... while it lasts ... Go Rand. Go Chris. And go Donald.
  24. Bernie Sanders said he doesn't owe Black Lives Matter and apology which is a far more robust response than you'll ever get from Hillary. I can see why this guy has Trump-like appeal to socialists.
  25. It's okay, even if Trump flames out as many think he will, he is doing us a great service by drawing many of the scorpions from under their rocks into the sunlight. Let us get this part of the business over with NOW, over a year from the election.
