In those two decades the interest rates came down and the debt was being serviced. People here seem to forget what high rates are like when too much money is being borrowed...

Your Thoughts of the Supreme Court of Canada

However as we know judges come from either defence lawyers or prosecutors. -

I guess one could say the same about the civil service. -

Defence lawyers also build their careers with chalking up wins...Also if judges arent going to hand out sentences as to what society deems appropriate, there will be govts elected that are going to find ways to get the judges to smarten up. Its not good for society if the judiciary and the parliament are in a power struggle -
I think its a great transition vehicle until they get the range figured out, high horsepower figured out, cold weather range figured out, and weight. Good city car, not so good in the country

The bond vultures in the late 80s and early 90s didnt think so... Id hate for them to return -
It was already fractured. The pcs learned that the hard way when the west purged them. Western alienation was a theme throughout the 90s...

Also if people would read the damn criminal code. There are two different offences, one with two different sentences. There is possession of firearm without a licence which would cover the girl in the scenario and knowingly possess firearm without a license which would encompass the gang bangers. Not only that if the girl makes attempts to get a license or is in the process of getting one or if she has a plan to get the guns disposed of it clearly says that the charge doesnt apply. Not only that, one can be a summary sentence which can be a fine, the other has a mandatory minimum. That scenario is fear mongering to say the least. -

Last i checked cruel and unusual punishment isnt inalienable... It can be used, however is political suicide to use it in the current political environment -

And thats why the criminal code has applicable firearms offences as per your scenario. -

Where it gets dicey is "what is reasonable?" That could be anything. The unelectable scc is a two way street as they could take an excessive tough on crime status articulating that a harsh sentence is reasonable as they arent tortured (that will never happen though). Easentially its an unelected cabal of elites drunk with power that are exercising it at will. If a judge is granted that kind of power, ideally there should be a timeline on the expiry of said power. However constitutions can be ammended and the notwithstanding clause can be used. If the supreme court keeps pushing the envelope that could likely happen... -

Which is made hard by them not being able to obtain loans for said home. Quite the pickle when the canada bank act and the indian act dont jive. A reserve is a prime example of why socialism is a complete and utter failure. -
I dont know why everyone is out pulling their hair over which "unelectable" person democrat or republican wins. They can talk out of their ass all they want, they wont be able to influence congress. Perhaps thats why the republican "establishment" was so against cruz and trump in the first place as there could be another 4 yrs of do nothing gridlock.

Behavior Contracts Not For Sexual Assault
blueblood replied to Big Guy's topic in Sex and Gender Issues
My question is why should the university get involved in the first place. Ideally she should go straight to the cops immediately after it happens. No messing around with university officials, go straight to cops so they have more evidence for trial. Sex assaults are hell. Bad for a victim and bad for someone being falsely accused. -

Which ties in to strong primary and secondary industries. Sk is far more spread out with its manufacturing. Whats really unfortunate for sk is how skittish the world is on nuclear power these days. -
Should Canada's cellular network be nationalized?

Precisely, if people are advocating for higher taxes and that govt knows how to spend money best, there is nothing stopping them from sending more money to the govt. -

Actually i did. The phone does everything i want out of a computer. No sense in having two. I dont program anything so a phone does the job -
If theyre rich, theyre paying to go to the front of the line and for beat care their money can buy. A lower flatter tax rate without loopholes would be easier to have compliance than what we have now

Id say its more service based growth (which im skeptical of in grand scheme of things) than overall growth. I like sks growth as there is primary, manufacturing, and service sector growth -
What im saying is that when the tax rates are too high it creates incentive for rich people to look into ways legal and/or not to try and keep as much money they earn as possible. Its class warfare trying to gouge rich people with high tax rates providing them incentive to go offshore when they can pay a lower simplified tax rate in the first place so that tax money actualy gets paid

The rate of growth of yorkton has been spectacular given its proximity to regina and saskatoon. And the amt of mb licence plates across the line in saskatoon, regina, and yorkton contribute to said growth -

But what would those foreign firms have to offer? I think the usa has a few large players and they do a good job in getting the infrastructure across
