You never lived in a high interest environment and that is coming when the us economy gets back under steam and they want their purchasing power back. You think Canada is going to not raise ours? manitoba dropped the carbon tax and Alberta had a gun to their head to put one in to get the pipelines approved. The Aussies dropped theirs, the us isn't implementing one and the Chinese are paying lip service. Why should we lose our competitive advantage to be a white knight? canada federally has low business taxes then throw in the provinces and it gets up there. Ireland grew at 5% or more for the last couple years and has a rock bottom business tax rate. The USA still has low job participation and a lot of money offshore. Not running at peak efficiency. Yes Trudeau has spent on the CBC, and other waste. Don't see much for expanded infrastructure. A google search shows he's worth 4.3 billion which is a sizeable fortune. his build a wall to keep illegal immigrants out and ban people from terrorist areas won him the White House. Part of the reason the dems lost is that they went on too many racist witch hunts and people got sick of it. Joe Biden would agree with that remark. A higher % of blacks and Hispanics voted for trump than Romney yet Romney got more total votes than trump did. In fairness Hilary would have lost to any of the rebublican primary candidates she was that poor of a candidate.

He took 1 million and is now worth 4.3 billion. He could ruin 20 businesses for all I care. At the end of the day he had the acumen to get to be worth 4.3 billion. How many people can say they turned 1 million into 4.3 billion?

Trump has businesses all over the world and he says that. Heck he even opened up a 20 million dollar hotel in China. (The huff post YouTube video of him saying China is priceless). Trump also says a lot of things. Trumps credibility comes with his fortune and that he can't be bought. He's already appointed his kids to run the empire while when he's done being president he'll be well looked after. I'd rather have someone stinking rich who's influence can't be bought as he has gobs of money to begin with rather than someone without much money who is more succiptible to corruption. If his business was such a problem he would have lost the presidency and if it becomes one then democrats can get in for the midterms and begin the impeachment process.

Well a bunch of people fell for trudeaus act and are taking their bath. Theres some stuff I agree with trump on and some stuff I don't. He isn't even president yet, id wait a year to see how he's doing. I will say the business channel talking heads are very bullish on the us economy.

So hiring successful people to run things is a bad idea? in fairness "elite" is relative. Some people consider businessmen elite and people like myself consider Washington insiders - lawyers on trust funds to be elite. Democrats have plenty of money greasing their wheels too. the rust belt took it on the chin for almost 20 years, trump had a clear plan for change and Hillary was going to keep the status quo.

And Monsanto has to make sales. There is no guns to farmers heads to buy from Monsanto. Usually they will price their seeds at the cost of weed control of non genetically modified seeds. You want easy weed control and high yields you have to pay to play. Monsanto wants farmers to make money so they will buy their products. Farmers go broke because of poor management

And that's what farmers markets are for. It's an example of the free market at work. Some people want cheap mass produced food, some people want all natural food from old McDonald, and some people want certified organic and they can already make that choice. It's redundant to label gmos when they have been consistently proven safe. At the same time if people want to freely go to the farmers market and get their organic gmo free stuff they can fill their boots.

The organics do. You can make a choice guaranteed organic or conventional ag. Regulations make things more expensive than they need to be

There already is labels. You can go to the organic aisle or store and inform yourself. The option already exists.

And the cost of organics is more. Don't want gmos you have to pay to play

The organics put their own label on and you pay a premium. You already can choose. You can also choose to buy some hydroponics and have a steady supply if it's that bad or land.

And big green is spending scores of money pushing their agenda. the companies arent trying to hide anything. They are trying to maintain their sales to keep the shareholders which includes retirees happy. If you made a product which is baselessly attacked in the media and you are forced at gunpoint to spend extra money putting a label on it to show consumers who have been eating up propaganda about same product you would not want to stick a label on it either.

More than without one.

So every technological advancement in anything needs to be labeled. Sounds costly...
