RE: The Minister of Agriculture & Agri-Food

The organic industry labels their foods as such and charge a premium for being chemical and gmo free. The gmos aren't being pushed through covertly, there is literature from the seed companies talking about the strains traits and performance - higher yields, chemical resistance, earlier maturity, frost/drought tolerance. Think of it this way, if a company made a bad strain which harmed someone they would be on the hook for billions of dollars resulting in the shareholders pulling the plug on the company. -
Trumps act got him the White House. He is all over the place on issues. Some states put in the stipulation of the electors to vote based on the results so that the people in that states will would be reflected in the college. Get used to trump changing his tune. I'm not seeing Hillary getting prosecuted anytime soon.

The system doesn't matter if you win the popular vote or not. The founding fathers put that stipulation in there so that people from one area dictate to people in another in federal matters. It's a fair system that allows states and cities a substantial influence in return. Heck California gets 55 electoral votes which is a sizeable piece of the pie.

He called the trump election and the stock market afterwards to a t. Certainly a hell of a lot better than Trudeau. Tax cuts, regulation cuts, and a plan for a stable business environment. Ideally I'd want scheer to win but he doesn't have the charisma and name recognition to knock off trudeau. He might be an ass, but at least O'Leary has a clear direction on how he wants things done.

In fairness it's a discussion worth having and it's an important one. The USA is primed to get ready to outcompete other countries with lower taxes and slashed regulations. Premier wall is right to be concerned about what we are doing about it or lack thereof. Australia has deep sized their carbon tax. You guys aren't doing one. The concern we have is a loss of competitiveness caused by our stubbornness. I don't know what individual states corporate rates are, but if you guys get a less rate than ours and irelands on top of the repatriation discount, we are going to get caught with our pants down. I don't blame the USA for doing these things as for the past 20 yrs companies have been voting with their dollars to go to more business friendly jurisdictions. In game of thrones lingo, winter is coming for Canada...

Kellie leitch is only gaining traction because of her controversial statements being run with by the media. All she has is identity politics and approving pipelines which won't be enough to win anything. I think O'Leary will be kingmaker as there are other Tory candidates with ideas. I think O'Leary is right about going for the best fiscal policy and putting that forward in a campaign. As much as Trudeau is a fool, he won with the combination of people being sick of Harper and having an economic plan (a foolish one, but a plan nonetheless). Trump won also because he had some sort of economic plan. Trudeau gets term two if Ontario and Quebec has job growth.

I think its a pick your poison as i think a recession is due. The gop needs to see the long game, if trump wins and a recession hits, i think the dnc gets another 8 yrs in 2020 and maybe 4 yrs of the house. But then there is the supreme court in play which is why imo this election is as nuts as it is. Personally i think the president race is distracting from the house and senate race. I think if trump gets elected with a gop house and senate, he will be getting quite the reality check.

Yet he has more money than you, i, or the author of that piece.

That would be because hes very disciplined in what stocks he goes after. He only goes for dividend paying stocks which he deems as low risk. But as we all know a lot of time other stocks that dont pay dividends can be worth more and increase/decrease their valuation more than a dividend paying stock.

Your Thoughts of the Supreme Court of Canada

It has to stop with parliament. Having a cabal decide things based on their beliefs and not having to be held accountable isnt a good place for the buck to stop. -
Where/What should the Prime Minister's residence be?
blueblood replied to Vega's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As much as im not a trudeau fan, the prime minister should be living in a house fitting of his title. Perk of the job and not only that it has to be secure. There are a lot if other things to save money on. -
Canadian taxpayers are a docile people.

The irish economy these days has not only gotten themselves out of their predicament, they are one of the fastes growing economies in the world at the moment doing the exact opposite of how trudeau and obama want to do things. My point, the american big businesses are paying their fair share... In ireland. -
Your Thoughts of the Supreme Court of Canada

And that is dangerous as you have an unelected cabal that can make whatever decision it wants based on their own personal preferences and not be held accountable for it. It would be easier to stomach an unaccountable body if they had a term limit, but there isnt one. essentially an unelected body rules the country. -

People also can decide that govt legislatures are unjust. They write a bad law or go too far they can get tossed. Can that happen to a judge on the supreme court?
