Les Misérables - in three very short paragraphs

I think you can't never be too sure about your assessment based on these write ups by anonymous contributors -
For several months we have been hunting for a proper comfortable headphone - our kid is always complaining that we take too long to reconcile our mistakes when making fun music and it is stressful. We currently have pairs of sony, roland, samsung all sitting here - useless - it's not until you are using them for long periods you have an experience of what you really need and what you don't want. However, for about a month now we have been using Bose headphones - it is really good, and even the sensitive one in my household uses the BOSE headphones without complaints.

Les Misérables - in three very short paragraphs
RB replied to August1991's topic in Arts and Culture
I bought the novel to read - so having a go at it. Russell Crowe played in a band before the big screen - no wonder there is a good review for him - I saw Anne Hathaway on SNL last night I thought she carried on well. I love all genre of musical so it will be a pleasure for me to watch when I ready -
So do those Jerk Aussie DJs deserve to be fired?
RB replied to Boges's topic in The Rest of the World
The DJs exercised poor judgement when they obtained and released personal confidential information even if it was a prank. Initially, I laugh out aloud when I heard of the prank I had read a two liner somewhere, later I saw the TV news carrying much more personal details - I thought what idiots, and how not so right so many levels. So for this reason, I felt they should be responsible and held accountable in some way. I also blame the hospital as they should have protocols set-up for some of their visitors, calls that can be redirected for legitimacy. What is a nurse doing answering the phones. There is more to saying that the hospital would not press for disciplinary action, and the royals did not file a complaint - like it is what is not said - they must have had a little chat. In this instance, I somehow felt that employees especially of different cultures needed to be assimilated and culturised into the workplace and it is the employer’s responsibility to help with this successful integration process. If I had to take a reasonable guess as to why she did it, I would lay a square blame on the culture difference. For some of us, just another day, another prank, like it is very easy to say it was just a prank. For some cultures it is not so easy to overcome such international embarrassment and shame. Just my thoughts -

Grisham wrote another baseball novel? I read his novels because of the law interest - gets a bit boring after a while. What I meant is that the story telling is great, but the language is far too simple...I still read them anyway

Who is the world's most powerful woman?
RB replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in The Rest of the World
Correct. With few exception, the list of most of the women listed have an "unearned" powerful women influence or rather their titles are one that comes with the terriortiy of association of male power e.g. Melinda Gates, Hilary Clinton, Michelle Obama - if their husbands did not make it, not sure you would know of them. -
Obviously I don't come around often enough to chat, I didn't notice a chat feature. This is a really good forum without the chat feature. Would I chat, maybe not.

never too late to learn. the chicks still here

Who is the world's most powerful woman?
RB replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in The Rest of the World
These magazines have their angle for a list. I like Hillary Clinton and think that like me lots of girls would have believed in dreams and impossibilities if she had become president. I don't have a female role model I follow - women I feel still cannot carry their own, even when they are in power are surrounded by a man's influence. I can see the signals women of importance emerge when they operate in the shadows of men "powerful" men just saying, I don't disregard their important duties and their notable feats. For example in Dr Mary Smith and Dr George Smith, you are please to meet the good Dr Smith's wife. A man is proud of his wife I am told. Just that there is an entire population of 50% men and 50% women and we can sum up an ideal women in so few names. I just don't get why women cannot come up with good ideas, products, ventures something, anything other than making news in garden plants. -
Try again - that is the true colors of women in business - and I am not mistaken.

What video games are you playing right now?
RB replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Arts and Culture
yes I can see this. The culture now includes "big men" wanting a man cave for their games. I don't get it. I prefer physical sport to playing these video games for 8 hours straight. In the future we are all going be very lazy like those alien dudes - one very BIG head and no muscle. -
Not true. There is no ulterior motive towards folks who are not desirous to have kids. Like amen to those who want no kids or have no sort of parental craving.. Kids come with lots of responsibilities. I'd be ok if I did not have a kid. Come to think of it, I am not sure if I would have been further along in a career path, or would have accumulated more wealth without the kid. As a young one, I didn't have much of an ambition to tell the truth. So, I must have tried harder to be who I am because of the kid - for example I recall now I registered for university while on Mat - my headstart to something. I have one child, now in medical school (ha ha expensive now - yesss). So kid is educated, yes - wise and street smart - don't know when - must be that it comes with time. The word "selfish" is kicked around here - I find kids are very selfish initially - this changes as they experience life.
-
In addtion to the above there is a recent study done - in your darkess moment, say life or death the person who gives you the most strenght to carry on. # 1 - wife # 2 - children and it is because of the love you give and the love that is return by these folks just saying
-
you are allowed to make choices that make you happy so here is some respect for those who do not want kids. Having said that, true be told, you are really losing out. Children are the joys you can always enjoy, even with their attitude. Evenfully, material things don't matter any longer, and the kids are really all you "live" for. My dad passed away when I was a kid and since, any older gentleman would be my dad tough one. My feelings are if you don't want kids, or won't be there for them, easy choice really.

What video games are you playing right now?
RB replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Arts and Culture
Am I missing out? i don't play the video games - I never seem to have time - but I do have a dance wii i really like this -
I agree. I have visited S Africa previously, i am in awe how developed it is...beautiful winter temperatures
-
Yep, I play the piano, can literally go nuts (in the good way)...I like jazz, opera - classical music is beautiful. the trouble with playing too deep music you can detect "bad" pieces and then really go nuts - the bad way. Yesterday at the Olympics closing - the opening music by Scott was that kind of music that really did not reconcile and ended...gave me a headache
-
obviously there are loopholes in the system for players to manipulate and so why not. they need to seriously reconsider how to play off these matches.

wow! I am reading this news here first. Well done Fab 5.
