  1. It makes much business sense and dollars to promote thin models e.g. size 0 especially if an average Canadian population is say size 10-12. I say this because the beauty model presents a standard where a whole lot of women are presented with a whole lot of body weight issues and a good chuck of the female population feel bad of the way they look. Look, now if I take a size 10 model - every person becomes a standard and there is no marketplace to trade beauty, a lot of men will become ruined and out of business. Men and their ruined lives can't be promoted. What I mean is the size 10 female becomes a parallel of men defining beauty for men: A standard pot belly chap, no lip stick, no nylons, no high heels, sagging with over-sized fitted Walmart t-shirt, hairy one walks about with no body issues There is no market for beauty for the average person.
  2. It might have sounded better had I said I approve of their vanity and selfishness. I can see now how using vanity as survival tools work to metaphorically speaking .. jump off the bridge A nicer ready-made explanation for irresponsible behaviour.
  3. 120 homes damaged A severe weather system left a wide trail of destruction yesterday, reportedly killing one person and damaging trees and homes as witnesses reported tornadoes from the Owen Sound area to Vaughan and Pickering. http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/t...es-damaged.aspx
  4. What I get is that youths are: - selfish - narcissistic - violent And they have nothing except what their parents offer to them.
  5. Oh the TV guides the entire place senseless - I would be foolish NOT to make up my own mind - making a claime that a certain group of people is ugly is ad hoc. But, I would be foolish not to capitalise on what the TV sells - it is already good business and well promoted.
  6. Children need direction, fixed schedules and activities such a dancing, music, sports from a young age so that they learn discipline - self-discipline to be exact Otherwise, meet 90% worrying mothers going out of their minds (NOT fathers) hoping for the best for their child/children. Teen years to say 23 is the time when the “ young harsh tests” is tested. What this really means is the young ones go berserk following the “in” crowd, the “TV” crowd, make wrong choices, trying drugs, alcohol, and sex with too many regrets. I meet up with worrying parents with teens every week that has the same story – they are not happy with their teens. Plus I am still in university so I would asks the students about this trendy behavior of establishing themselves where friends are important during the trying years. The answer of the older students - they have smarten up, they are older, wiser, would not like repeated experience, they were foolish, should have listened to the parents….teens are disappointments to their parents – but thank heavens parents have some faith, patience, forgiveness and hope for their precious or miracle children. One of the good advice from the students was that the mother is always standing there - waiting, waiting for the prodigal child to return with welcome arms. In short, the parent stood by them and waited for the lasses to come to their senses. In a bigger picture, it is strange even when they kick us, we have so much more courage and hope that we can continue to cling to our own kind, to guide them because we know there is something better out there for them but we could not transfer or relate some of that hope to see other kinds of people, other color of people in the same light
  7. well good for Morris I really had enough of this nonsense that black women are ugly
  8. I want to call puberty part of life growing up. Nowadays we have some medical condition for everything. You are agitated - you have a problem of ADD. Puberty is difficult for young people - how, i just don't get it.
  9. Does it matter who I am or where I am from. I give you the facts as I saw them. Your desirables are about the size I mentioned. This is so not true. I have faith that children will not single out others. My kid is 18 now, starts 3 year medical school in September only recently reminded me that - in all seriousness how can she do a good in her profession if she sees a color. The children are far more sensible than the biased adults who not only pre-judge others but the adults also make sure that they put their fangs and biases out on a glorious display
  10. I can tell some folks here watch lots and lots of TV to be guided by what is beautiful, attractive, and desirable. Incidentally, I was at a restaurant yesterday and I must have seen over 100 white women - weighting about 180-360 lbs waggling from one side to the next, and I deliberately pointed out to my companion - 100 desirables. BTW, I didn't see one white woman that matched those seen on TV. And, I can guess the ones on TV are also NOT living in your houses either, unless you hallucinating of .2% of beauties in the world. But, it is these discussions that makes one wondered if beauty defies logic, vs. what is a good person - who decides who should live in this world, who is ugly, worthless, what color is preference and who gets to announce this particular group is the demise of the human race. You learn a lot from children. The group that is growing up currently sees beyond the pale color of the people. Unless you are the parent and decided to live isolation with your own kind - it is the choice you make and later you wind up in the hands of the same child who sees people for who are - good human. I think children are much more sensible than adults when it comes to the color business. Anyway, I suspect many black women do not report crimes against them for the simple reason that laws were not written with blacks in mind but to protect whites and even when raping a black women became illegal it is still not considered a crime. Deb Friedman, “Rape, Racism and Reality,” Quest 1 (1979). Here are some stats. For every white woman that reports her rape, at least 5 white women do not report theirs; and yet, for every African-American woman that reports her rape, at least 15 African-American women do not report theirs (Bureau of Justice Special Report 2003). Myth: The majority of rapes are committed by black men against white women. Fact: 90% of rapes occur between people of the same race and economic class. I am just hopeful that black women are not placed in a precautious position where she has to be in touch with idiots with idiotic thoughts. I have always thought in order for black people to rise above the Argus of this world we need to have more black lawyers, to table changes to the system that is systemic and entrenched in institutional customs. Have some representation where a black person can easily confide their worries to a black person who shares a burden.
  11. Even though the ideal weight standard gets smaller, children learn from adults. One of my theory is that women are fat because, children have come to accept that their mothers should look a certain way: fat, extra-weight, bulging, saggy boobs and stretch marks, fat arms, not smart enough in the head, fat legs, lots of hair, fat neck now aged with lines, terrible face, ears, bad skin, bad nose, not the right color of eyes, lips, chin, bad teeth, shoulders, back, no breasts, extra handles on the fat waist, hips, tire stomach, abdomen, celluloid buttocks, arms, wrists, hands, fingers, fingernails, thighs, knees, calves, ankles, feet, toes, body hair, pimples, scars, freckles, terrible stretch marks etc. moles. Fathers who are already fat and overweight are accepted as the bald, farting, burping macho guy When it comes down to honesty and brass talk children really want their mothers to be BIG FAT JOLLY girls with wiggling and sagging body parts – majority of women and men are fat. Parents are the idols. Being fat is normal. Here kid a third helping of ice cream is good for you.
  12. This is surprising news as I have faith in the hospital for children. My own nephew James, was born in the 22nd week of pregnancy - under developed lungs, under developed heart and a whole lot of complications. He was less that 10 inches and had a weight less than a lb at birth. For over 3 years we had to shuffle him in and out of the hospital, move him to fresh air province, called Newfoundland. This is 18 years ago. Today, James is healthy, normal child, and a very smart lad, a pre-med student at MacMaster studying Medical Radiology. No one gave up. On the other hand, I am also glad that we are well equip to handled abortion. These are not "fun" choices women NOT men have to make. Let me remind you that women are the ones to undergo the trauma of getting an abortion. I am sure we really don't wish to return to the back-alley abortion such as hanger, needles, pumps etc. Perhaps you are more upset that men cannot access this safe environment set-up only for women.
  13. I was compiling a bit of a list of what makes a Canadian - so added to the above We can bearly speak English and French, we are still Canadian American is not our mother tongue, we speak English and French Hockey is everywhere We are the 2nd largest country of the world Get a Tim Horton means to get a coffee Rita McNeil is one large Canadian A news anchor on CBC can be bald Chapters and Indigo are bookstores A toque is a hat We are peackkeepers Any small talk eventually include a discussion of the weather During the summer people head for cottage country Gas stations are filling snowmobiles in winter We give distances in time, not miles We ask whether you would like “a coffee” rather than “some coffee” You can get your beer at the beer store We say it is grey not gray The Beaver is a history magazine and is also an animal kraft dinner is mac n cheese a laneway is the alleyway we put away instead of put up a cupboard is the pantry tea towel is a dish rag we say we will phone instead of call a chesterfield is a couch We BBQ instead of cookout We say Grade 10 instead of 10th grade We don’t ask you if you want a sack to put your purchases We will write a “cheque” instead of a "check” We use elastic bands instead of rubber bands We start from the top of the world and we are the country on top of America the average Canadian is busy dogwalking not dogsledding We tell you we don't live in igloos eh..and it sounds like a question eh
  14. Rich people are nutcases but we don't wish to offend them, afterall they support the social stucture of society e.g. the have giving to the have not
  15. Look if you and your neighbor struggled and save all the monies you can muster. While your neighbor could not contained a habit of Tim Horton each morning and forgo a wait for riches to appear, you went ahead and bought plot of land, then you bought some seeds, plant it and nurture the outcome. For years you toil this land and one day there is massive returns on your hard work. In the future the returns are handed to young brats. I would think that hard work suffice people deserving their money, even the brats deserve the money because all the generations ever work for is a good or better life for their offsprings.
  16. I wanted to bring up this Chris Brown and Rihanna issue Police: Chris Brown Punched Rihanna, Threatened to Kill Her. I mean what is this woman thinking that after all of the below she returns to her abuser. - hit her head against the passenger window. - "turned to face Brown and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand," - "He then drove away in the vehicle and continued to punch her in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand." - "I'm going to beat the s--- out of you when we get home. - Now I'm really going to kill you." - put her in a headlock, and that she almost lost consciousness. - resumed punching [Rihanna] and she interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face - she then bent over at the waist, placing her elbows and face near her lap in attempt to protect her face and head from the barrage of punches being levied upon her by Brown."
  17. There is also something sinister about people playing god.
  18. Politics is still the "boys" world, and unpopular, and very trying for women. A reason why I guess brunettes stay away if all that is going get mentioned is about legs, clothes size, generally the woman's anatomy e.g. Belinda Stronach.
  19. I think the English Canadian would be anyone who is not French Canadian. The French of course have to be "pure" because the French disown any sorts of mix e.g. a French and English mix would result in an English Canadian.
  20. Those are ladies in power, and I approve In terms of finances - here is how the odds stack up Quote: The Huffington Post reported a few months ago that experts at Lycos analyzed the hair color of wives of the world's top 100 billionaires to determine if there is a predominant hair color wealthy men go for. Turns out 62% of the world's billionaires were married to brunettes, while 22% of billionaires were married to blondes. Unquote. I guess some folks just have to decide when the fun is over.
  21. However from this so recent survey Brunettes are 'better paid and more respected than blondes' Click here to read from the Telgraph Blondes may have more fun but brunettes are better paid, according to a new survey.
  22. I really like this day. Firstly, this is a day I can wear a red outfit that says a romantic at heart, instead of misrepresenting GO RED for celebration of heart disease and stroke. I am really fed-up how the colors have moved out of my grasp. I can't wear pink or yellow without connotations of supporting cancer, the rainbow colors etc Secondly, there might be jewelry, like diamonds are a girl's best friend, like something material to look forward Thirdly, very likely ladies you get one these: -chocolate -roses -Provocateur lingerie -soft toys candles spa getaways gift baskets perfume books watches romance more jewelry romantic proposals - I mean men sometimes do become creative men also spend in average twice as much money as women for this day - so it must be very important to the men folks. I guess it is the one good day to listen to your heart.

  24. Well, I cannot deny where big commercial value exist. From the discussion what I gathered is that there comes a time when for every age of women they arrive at the "rite of passage" being blonde.. those folks chasing particular anxieties or some sort of dream. What I can also say is the artifice of being blonde incorporates a different mindset, and gets promoted to a different realm, mostly fantasy and lives as an ideology. It helps when we are also world-class makers of these fantasies, L'Oréal's "you're worth it" is borne from hair color. Essentially capturing a woman sensibility.
  25. Studies from the University of Paris X-Nanterre show that the same effect of walking and talking slowly in front of the elderly that men mimic the "blonde bimbo" stereotype and actually become say less intelligent. Men actually lose their heads when confronted with interaction with blondes.
