Thank you for the response.

In relation to men and women - the issue is up for discussion - yes. I do think there is information for tall men, and beautiful men having more opportunities and was discussed on this board before. Fast forward regarding short men (my opinion) - in the future will become domesticated and whom women will seek as partners. The reason being women are working more and in order to have a cohesive family life (children) the reversal of women staying at home is perceived. Why short men are selected they match the age old conception of kitchen level (sink, counter top, stove) for domestic purposes vs tall men that would find it a bit more challenging to do dishes, cut vegetables for hours etc. and avoidance of stress. I don't mean to offend anyone - it's a different way to look at where we are going.

The wage gap still persist - you must be talking about menial jobs - I can agree but it stops at $12/hr. Bertrand, M., & Hallock, K. F. The gender gap in top corporate jobs. Industrial & Labor Relations Review, 55(1), 3-21literature confers gender gap for managers - women make 45% of what men make for the same job. Since I deal with research in education linked to intelligence, abilities and work I fear you are incorrect to say women earn more than men or on par for more senior jobs. There is a direct increase in wages if women attain more education, but the increase is not relative to men. Sorry, I have no agenda I just have the data .

Oh dear I was making a comment on this thread but lost the post. There is much work to do with this unbalance equation when it comes to wealth as in pay, and women being exploited (domestic abuse, cyberbullying (new)) and other in the list I read the opening topic area and the small list and glad the area is being explored at this level.

I might argue that if I am going to pay traffic fines based on income then I should have my own lane to drive
-
Basic economics, attractiveness of the fine and irrational human behaviour Example people would purchase on sale 200 per bottle pills for $12, whereas 100 per bottle is $5 (see works by Kahneman, Nobel, economics winner)

http://www.thestar.com/opinion/editorialopinion/2011/02/20/tough_on_poverty_tough_on_crime.html poor people are already disportionately found in the jail system. Having a fine law based on income would only encourage more poor people to break rules The cost benefit of a crime commited amounting to $100,000 by wealthy dude is more that attractive to a poor person doing the same crime for $50.

How about they have the same job title and the expected outcome is the same - guarantee that people will never have the same abilities. The pay is different. I think that is the problem here Pascal addressed in a Amy Pascal speaks about the Sony hacks, says actors at 'bottomless pits of need' Quote from Amy Pascal @ out of all place Silcan Valley "Sony leaks was detailed payment information that showed women were paid less than men: “I’ve paid [Jennifer Lawrence] a lot more money since then, I promise you. … Here’s the problem: I run a business. People want to work for less money, I pay them less money. … Women shouldn’t work for less money. They should know what they’re worth. Women shouldn’t take less. ‘Stop, you don’t need the job that bad." Unquote

http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-31434419 Amy Pascal addressed the women work for less at Sony as revealed in the email attack. She paid them less, because they accepted less e.g. Jennifer Lawrence Now she says women should know their worth. I am so tempted to say classic of women keeping women in their place. But, It is like wow and fumes.

Thanks for the reply WIP Initially it was doubful he was saying about being in the situation with the soldiers and could swing many ways. He really got shot down by the the media Jihad, the NY times took a shot @ frontpage, the soldiers only want to correct the emblishment as the years grew and the story became a really big fish tale Hopfully it gets sorted out with the NBC folks in 6 months. Somehow I think it won't as there is something about trust. Maybe he become a successful comedian - it would be interesting to see what kind of funny
-
And CNN could spend the entire day exploring conditions for lying e.g. false memories This is a major mess up for the chap, it is who is caught today.

Well if I read the graph correctly, even though the audience is decreased at NBC and ABC according to bush_cheney2004 , CBS is still having the lowest of audience in each year listed. This is based on the graph presented. However, I did follow the impact of the viewership and previously NBC was drawing about 9.3 million http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/11/business/media/brian-williams-suspended-by-nbc-news-for-six-months.html Now NBC is down to 8 million http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv/brian-williams-nightly-news-suffers-ratings-drop-article-1.2108555 and CBS is over 8 million Maybe thats what you mean...
-
Now he is suspended without pay for six months. http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/television/2015/02/10/nbcs-brian-williams-suspended-for-six-months-without-pay.html A news journalist telling stories must be differentiated from the stories we tell around the dinner table. What I mean is there is something specific about being a journalist and relating news. He got "called out", is it the norn though. The various crew with him didn't bat the eye at all of what is embellished and it apparently happened on multiple occasions - reported as being investigated.

Steve Jobs, Mark Steyn & the Future of Education
RB replied to August1991's topic in Business and Economy
Interesting observation August. My PhD dissertation interest is abilities and intelligence - defends next year , I looked previously at Jobs from a intellectual capital perspective, tacit knowledge in a business model, market value - book value. I can say based on works by Gary Becker and others people in 1950's 1960's were intellectually smarter. Example of what I mean if we were to do a standard IQ measurement the difference is significant almost 10 points off. -
I see nothing wrong with their questions - makes for good entertainment, she is caught on the unwares everytime.

haha Kimmy - let's say nope just looks that way...

I guess not worth watching.

It's a remarkable film based on true events. I was drawn in and felt compelled to watch it. I thought I saw some paintings in Montreal Museum a few years back.

Nice going the the read of the week. I am only reading academic stuff - but here is one on capital intelligence Polanyi (1966) - we have the power to know more that we can tell because knowledge is personal and has no concrete rules to identify it, or how to observe it.

What is Reasonable Accommodation For Feds?
RB replied to Big Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I might still be the only naive female left. First I just don't get what is so god fearing about women. Not to see them, associate with them and be seen by them. -
didn't have a chance to follow the tennis until today and my O my O Canada is doing so well.
