  1. @impartialobserver We should all have equal rights! But we don't. What do you mean, "what demands?" HAVE YOU WATCHED THE OP? Unless you watch and argue based on what's already on the table - don't bug me with silly arguments. Boy - you should understand the issue being put forth before you get into a serious discussion. I'll ignore you for now until you've got something worth responding to.
  2. Commonwealth Games cancelled in Australia. The reason: 67 Billion dollars.

Oh, dear.  They're looking for a replacement.....no one's coming forward to volunteer.

What are the chances Trudeau will step in to save the day?

    1. I am Groot

      I am Groot

A billion is a thousand million dollars

There were 5,000 athletes at the 2022 Commonwealth games

Sixty-seven thousand million dollars is almost thirteen and a half million dollars spent per athlete.

    2. Aristides

You forgot a decimal point. The estimate is 6 to 7 billion. The original estimate was 2 billion.

      Quote

CGF said the estimate of A$6bn is double the figure they were advised of at a board meeting last month, and that the increase in costs were due to the "unique regional delivery model" that Victoria chose for the games.

Sounds like they just let the project get away from them.

Toronto spent a bit north of 2 billion for the Pan Am Games in 2015. 7 Billion is absurd.

  3. Of course, I want something to be done about it. BECAUSE..............WE HADN'T IGNORED THEM! We're now dealing with the results of listening AND CATERING to their demands! By "we," I mean society and government and all these institutions/businesses that had capitulated and catered to them! Some states in the USA seems to be starting to do something about it! Once you give an inch to any group - they'll start going for more. That's the hard reality. It never fails!
  4. Ignore them! Why should we cater to demands of anyone to denigrate others?
  5. Yep. We're being censored. A whole thread is taken down in another forum. A few years back - society will be up in arms with women being called derogatory names such as, "breeders" or "incubators, the kinds of demeaning identities being put on women today - EXCEPT what they're entitled to be called. Calling women such demeaning and derogatory terms is....................ABUSIVE! Had those terms thrown around in domestic relationships, it tantamounts to psychological abuse! But.....it's okay now. As long as we're protecting the trans.
  6. Yeah, I do remember your stance.
  7. Don't get me wrong. I don't know if you remember how much I hated feminism. My life has never been defined by obsessing over equality with men. I don't know if I feel sorry for feminist women freaking out over this - after all............................. HOW MANY UNBORN HAVE THEY CANCELLED? Yeah, sure.....as a woman, I'm among those being "erased." But, do I really care? No. I know what gender I am, and I'm comfortable with it. I know my worth, and I'm thankful to God, and proud of it. On one hand, I can empathize with how it must feel for feminists who defined their lives over equality with men and had put so much into working to get it.......... ................on the other hand, I'm just so awed by the sheer irony of it. Imagine that! Trans are MEN........................ getting into their "slips and panties" now, so to speak. They're being defined in the terms dictated by ...................MEN. Full circle, baby.
  8. AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS. What a let-down. Here's the pathetic outcome for women - who have worked so hard and for so long to achieve their own identity in a masculine-dominated world. You're being erased! Your title as WOMAN has become to mean NOTHING. You're now just a.................................... "birthing" person. Thanks to the group (LG) you'd valiantly carried on your back in your march for your so-called, "WOMEN'S RIGHTS!" Here's your "pay-back!"
  9. Foreign students. It's a BUSINESS! In conjunctions with schools. I suppose everyone gets a piece of the pie. It's not only universities doing this. We were hosts of foreign students until 2019 (just the start of covid), living in a small suburb city. The students were attending high school! All the foreign students in our area were mostly high school students. Most of them were trying to learn English too (though some we've had were already fluent). I must say - the Japanese are so exemplary with their studies (Japanese we had were scholars sent here)! They were always studying - hardly gone out of their rooms. But the others from other countries belong to wealthy families. We were fortunate to have had nice kids. But with the two Michaels being held at the time in China - we decided to stop hosting Chinese kids. We eventually decided not to continue being hosts at all in the end.
  10. Freeland too apparently. And, Singh.
  11. The screaming frenzy - I wonder if that's the side-effect of the drug in their transgendering.
  12. I've never heard of this term until now. Heck, I'm still struggling to understand what the other alphabets in LGBTQ + actually mean............yeah, I'm that slow. Now, I'm learning about the KARENS. Interesting to read the comments below.
  13. Btw........did any political figure (Trudeau and other premiers) attend Pride Parade 2023? Seems quiet - whereas they used to announce if such and such is going to attend. Just curious.
  14. The irony of it all: Women were only too willing to be like men. Now that men are only too happy to fill the role that women want to shed - to be women - real women are freaking out!
  15. You can bury your head in a book all you want. This is reality.
  16. Based on all those given above - I can see why businesses will want to distance themselves from all these. It's shaping up to be a freakin' free-for-all brawl! ?
  17. Note: if a moderator can please move this thread to the Sex and Gender section. Thank you.
  18. This is a frank confession and an EXPOSE'. I know it's 18 minutes long.....but, it is a must watch. There is a harm. Are you comfortable with what's happening?
  19. You don't. Trans aren't just stepping on WOMEN............. It's gonna get ugly. LGBTQIA: I want a divorce. Many lesbians, gays and bisexuals are no longer considering themselves to be a part of the LGBTQIA community and are starting to voice opposition to the movement entirely. The reason? They feel that the LGBs have one agenda that completely contradicts the agenda of the TQIA community. Read the comments at the bottom.
  20. And there's conflict brewing within the LGBTQ community! Why Are Some Feminists In The UK Freaking Out About Trans Rights? The protesters who hijacked and led the London Pride parade over the weekend represent a worrying trend of anti-trans feminism in the UK. Waving signs saying things like “Transactivists Erase Lesbians,” the protesters shouted slogans targeting trans women and highlighting the hashtag “#GetTheLOut of Pride” as they led the parade down its route to Trafalgar Square. One of the protesters shouted, “A man who says he’s a lesbian is a rapist,” according to Gay Star News. The group also distributed leaflets that accused trans activism of “coercing lesbians to have sex with men.” Pride in London staff and volunteers, as well as police officers, appeared to do nothing to intervene — though live video released by Pink News showed Pride in London staff working to prevent journalists from filming the protesters. This latest stunt at London Pride comes as anti-trans bigotry in the UK has reached a fever pitch. Both left-wing and tabloid media have flooded the country with constant attacks on transgender youth. Earlier this year, BuzzFeed News reported that BBC staffers were sending each other anti-trans messages in private group chats. So why is the UK losing its mind over trans people? Anti-trans feminists, accusing trans women of invading women’s spaces, and anti-trans lesbians, angered at trans women being welcomed into the lesbian community, have been whipped up into a fury by proposed changes to trans rights legislation in Britain. https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/morganmpage/why-are-some-feminists-in-the-uk-freaking-out-about-trans
  21. Take a backseat, women. You're not the "darling" of society anymore. It gets livelier. I'm curious where FEMINISTS stand on this. Protesters storm McGill University talk on sex vs. gender, shutting it down Advocates say debating trans women's rights is harmful to all women Trans rights advocates stormed into a talk Tuesday afternoon at McGill University led by a speaker associated with a group they say is "notoriously transphobic and trans-exclusionary." The CHRLP's website describes the event as a conversation around whether the law should make it easier for a transgender person to change their legal sex, "and about exceptional situations, such as women-only spaces and sports, in which the individual's birth sex should take priority over their gender identity, regardless of their legal sex." He says he has a 37 years experience defending LGB human rights and he would never associate with any group that "promotes hate." He said he came to McGill to promote the message that women have human rights too, but they feel intimidated by the trans rights movement. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/mcgill-backlash-anti-trans-talk-1.6708251
  22. Anti-LGBTQ Backlash Puts a Chill on Corporate America’s Rhetoric (Bloomberg) -- Anti-LGBTQ protests targeting brands like Target Corp. and Bud Light have cast a broader chill across corporate America. For the first time in years, company mentions of “Pride Month” and other LGBTQ terms were on the decline in regulatory filings and earnings calls, a Bloomberg News analysis found. References to “Pride Month” in filings, presentations and transcripts from April to June at more than 900 of the largest US companies dropped almost 40% from this time last year, the first decline in five years. Other LGBTQ terms showed similar declines, the analysis found. “We’re in a toxic stew of a backlash against LGBTQ people, primarily trans people,” said Bob Witeck, a consultant who helps companies such as Walmart Inc. and Marriott International Inc. craft LGBTQ-friendly policies. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/anti-lgbtq-backlash-puts-a-chill-on-corporate-america-s-rhetoric/ar-AA1dcHEG
  23. Lol - you're so missing the point. The irony! LGBTQ has already won what they want with same-sex marriage and being accepted/tolerated by society...............but still, don't know enough when to quit and shut up. As anti-LGBTQ2 hate grows in Canada, advocates say it’s ‘never been as scary’ Canadian LGBTQ2 community members and advocates say the past year has been difficult and scary amid a notable rise in hate crimes, threats and protests against drag queens and transgender people in particular. Hate has been rising in Canada too. Police-reported hate crimes based on sexual orientation rose nearly 60 per cent between 2019 and 2021 to the highest level in five years, Statistics Canada reported last month. “We’re seeing a revival of the anti-gay hysteria from the 1970s,” she said. https://globalnews.ca/news/9393280/canada-lgbtq-hate-trans-west-block/ “More anti-LGBT+ demonstration events have already been recorded in Canada so far this year than in all of 2021 and 2023 is on track to exceed 2022.” Canadian Anti-Hate Network executive director Evan Balgord says Canada is seeing the protests happening right across the country with multiple events happening every week. https://globalnews.ca/news/9542496/anti-lgbtq2-protests-rise-canada-explainer/ And.....don't ever imagine that those who aren't protesting are necessarily on LGBTQ's side! You guys are digging up and bringing out the "bigotry" in people......................... right into the open.
  24. It wasn't a strawman argument since you're talking about two separate issues that are nowhere related. I've asked you: who among environmentalists are walking the talk? At least, he's vocalised and admits to what mostly - if not all , environmentalists are doing or gonna do. But he's more passionately committed about what directly affects children!
  25. It depends on the issue, and how you truly feel about it. His environmental concerns may not be as deep as to how he feels about child rearing and education. But I think we've touched on an interesting topic for discussion.
