The only big elephant in the room in that scenario is that, the people behind Carney are the very same elected people behind Trudeau.
-
That's what I was thinking. These are the folks who had already made up their mind even before Carney came into the picture. They don't need any more time to think about it.

Just got back from voting about a couple of hours ago. Long line up, considering the place wasn't even opened yet! There is this enthusiasm to this early voting! What does that mean.......which candidate benefit the most from that?

Just came back from voting!! Long line-up, considering we're there even before it opened! You gotta watch this! Pierre SKYROCKETS in Yahoo Poll + Carney Liberals CAUGHT Funding SECRET Chinese Police Station in QC https://www.jw.org/en/library/bible/study-bible/books/colossians/1/ -
Conflict of interest, is on the table. That's why the other 3 candidates are pushing him to be transparent and show his assets. Why does he refuse? That's why I'm saying, we'll end up losing sovereignty if Carney wins!
-
There's reason to believe that the polls we're seeing, could be wrong. CBC, is subtly associating Poilievre with Trump. CBC stated: Trump is defunding universities unless they change their policies. Will Poilievre do the same? To me, that seems like they know that Poilievre could still win! 😁 BTW........if there's anyone among the 4 candidates who will crumble and follow what Trump wants, it will be Carney! Carney had already moved his business' headquarters to NEW YORK, in January - as soon as Trump issued a WARNING about tariffs. Lol - we're not even negotiating yet - they were just warnings, threats! - and I don't Trump was even inaugurated yet ........ ...............and there goes Carney, already succumbing to Trump's threat!

This is an odd question to ask. It backfired. -
Don't get de-moralised by the polls. Just make sure you go out and vote!

Carney may not have been a politician.......but, as a business leader, he is a politician! 😁 Where is LoBot? She was on to AI...........but, unfortunately.............. she's looking at the issue upside down and whining about the wrong thing! 🤣 She should read this. OUR EDITORIAL: OF COURSE CHINA WANTS CARNEY FOR PM The only thing surprising about Beijing’s dictators wanting Liberal Leader Mark Carney to win the April 28 election is that anyone would be surprised by it, our editorial department writes. As Conservative MP Michael Chong — an actual “target” of Chinese disinformation — put it in the wake of Canadian security and intelligence officials revealing China’s attempt to promote the prime minister’s campaign on Chinese-language social media: “(China) knows that for a decade the Liberals have turned a blind eye to Beijing’s interference in Canada’s democracy. “They know the Liberals have stood by as Beijing interfered in our democracy, targeted and harassed our citizens and threatened Canada’s interests at home and abroad.” Canada’s Security and Intelligence Threats to Elections Task Force (SITE) said the campaign of mostly positive coverage about Carney on Youli-Youmian, the most popular news site on the Chinese-language social-media platform WeChat, was artificially spread through an organized campaign by smaller WeChat accounts. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/other/the-latest-carney-serves-up-word-salad-when-pressed-on-election-meddling-tax-havens/ar-AA1CwcxK

Are we on an EXISTENTIAL CRISIS .....or, not? Lol - if it's all about getting all the "WE" to agree before the PM can make a decision in a time of an EXISTENTIAL CRISIS.........were done! You're telling me, if we're actually getting bombed........Carney will want everyone to agree before he can decide on a response? While governments come to power with big plans, they often end up lurching from crisis to crisis, most not of their own making. They need to be nimble, they need to be able to respond to changing circumstances quickly and Carney doesn’t appear to be able to do that. Carney wants to talk about one thing and one thing only: Donald Trump. He sees Trump as his meal ticket to being elected as prime minister. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/other/the-latest-carney-serves-up-word-salad-when-pressed-on-election-meddling-tax-havens/ar-AA1CwcxK

................at the very least, people are interested what PP has to say. Listening to Carney, he's beginning to sound like Harris and Biden......with his word salads. Nothing concrete or specific about plans. -
I recall reading somewhere that says Carney didn't get any joint press conference with leaders after their talks! Macron and Carney appeared in front of reporters before the talks but did not take questions, a sign the French president might not want to upset Trump by siding with Canada. Macron said tariffs only bring inflation but did not address Trump’s attacks on Canada. https://www.france24.com/en/americas/20250317-canada-new-pm-carney-set-meet-macron-first-foreign-visit-amid-trump-tariff-threats-france Of course, these countries are fighting for their own nation/citizens too.....putting them FIRST! What do you think? They'd openly side with Canada? You can't totally rely on anyone. Period. Thus, it's critically imperative that we become self-reliant AS FAST AS WE CAN......in this FAST-changing world.

Michael Taube: Heed Britain's stern warnings about Mark Carney As Lynn noted, “Over eight years at the Bank of England, Carney was at best an indifferent governor, and, at worse, a disappointing failure.“ Despite his huge salary of more than £600,000 a year, more than any of his predecessors had been paid, he seemed to have little feel for the role. The City quickly nick-named him ‘the unreliable boyfriend’ for his constant changes of direction on interest rates.” Article content By the time Carney left the central bank, he had “created a mess which his successors have struggled to clear up. Inflation spiked up to a peak of 11.1 per cent in the U.K., compared to 5.2 per cent in France or eight per cent in Italy, hardly a country known for controlling prices effectively, largely because the bank had printed too much money.” Here’s the real kicker: “Carney is the epitome of a remote, globalized, technocratic elite. He is very good at self-promotion, at collecting trophy jobs and of course negotiating fabulously generous salaries and expenses for himself along the way. He is just not very good at delivering.” Article content Canadians should keep Lynn’s analysis in mind when they eventually head to the polls. Indeed, the British media warned about Carney for years. Many on the left and right didn’t particularly like him, and often spoke out strongly against him. Canada’s Liberals either weren’t aware of what was being said, didn’t heed the warnings or ignored them entirely. If the Carney experiment fails, we’ll know exactly who to praise — and who to blame. Article content National Post https://nationalpost.com/opinion/britains-stern-warnings-about-mark-carney Btw.....what was the purpose for Carney's trip to UK and France? PHOTO-OP?

You look at the size of the rallies! It could be shades of the US election. WITHOUT CELEBRITIES! Both CBC and CTV, are commenting on the sizes! -
Btw............... There's something they're not telling us about his departure from UK. A marked man: Carney’s BoE departure Bank of England Governor, Mark Carney, has found himself in a world where his values are increasingly under fire. The Canadian banker is now set to depart his role in 2019 Mark Carney’s departure from the Bank of England looks to be a much less celebratory affair than his initial appointment to the role. When it was announced he would take over the position in 2012, he was lauded as “the outstanding central banker of his generation” by then-Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne. Since then, many have come to view him much less favourably. Carney’s fall from grace appears to be yet another consequence of the UK’s decision to leave the European Union. While the timeline for the withdrawal process remains elusive – if even guaranteed – the vote in June last year has already claimed its fair share of political causalities. Former Prime Minister David Cameron resigned immediately after the vote, while key figures of his cabinet were soon culled from office by his replacement, Theresa May. Many celebrated his appointment at the time – yet, after Carney dared to wade into the divisive politics of 2016, his popularity soon waned. Over the space of a year, he went from someone generally viewed inoffensively, to the subject of mounting political attack. Leaving the EU, he claimed, would result in the UK seeing two consecutive quarters of negative growth. According to James Bartholomew, writing in The Spectator: “He appeared to be going beyond any formal Bank of England forecast. Effectively he was supporting the Remain campaign by backing ‘project fear’. He gave up the political neutrality expected of governors.” The future for Carney While Theresa May’s jibe over international citizenship was not explicitly directed at Carney, the Canadian governor must have felt its impact – and adding insult to injury was the fact his very policy was also attacked in the same speech. In what must have felt like a general loss of confidence in his ability to function in a post-Brexit world, it was rumoured Carney had seriously toyed with the decision to step down. Indeed, many media outlets urged him to do just that. https://www.worldfinance.com/profile/a-marked-man-carney-set-for-boe-departure

Conservatives Have Taken the Lead in Federal Polls
betsy replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The Conservatives deserve to win in this race, and should be given a strong mandate. It was Poilievre who's been opening our eyes about the carbon tax, about the LIBERAL bureaucracy that has crippled the county. Carney simply saw it convenient to scrap the carbon tax right now (so he says )......because, it's not popular. That's what he said when he was asked why he suddenly scrapped the carbon tax that he's advised on Trudeau to implement. Therefore - he's into polls! Carney makes decisions based on polls! Carney's political decisions are not based on what's good for the nation.....but, it's about what is popular. Lol - talk about the dark side of populism! 😁 At least, Poilievre may have some populist views.....but they're based on COMMON SENSE! Not polls! Another minority government is the last thing we need right now. It'll result in loser parties to take the governing administration hostage to their demands - just as we saw how NDP Singh played Trudeau quite well. We need a strong PM with a vision for Canada............... with the nation strongly behind him......... so he can implement to fulfill that vision that we vote for. -
Carney's former firm Brookfield has been accused of breaching Indigenous rights in 4 countries Under Mark Carney's leadership, global investment firm Brookfield was accused of breaching Indigenous rights or harming the environment in at least four countries, CBC Indigenous has found. Carney, who is running for prime minister as Liberal leader, spent more than four years as vice chair and then chair at Brookfield Asset Management, where he focused on green investing and renewable energy. During that period from 2020 to 2024, Brookfield businesses faced reports of serious human rights abuses in Brazil, Indigenous resistance in Colombia, a First Nation's $100-million lawsuit in Ontario and an environmental dispute in Maine. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/carneys-former-firm-brookfield-has-been-accused-of-breaching-indigenous-rights-in-4-countries/ar-AA1CqSFF

LoBot, you're racist. Plain and simple. Be grateful that I've thrown you some much-needed attention. You seem so desperate for it. 😁 have a nice day.
-
Lol - don't hide behind WOKE. 😁 Let's call a spade, a spade. Let's call an outright racist, a racist. I didn't label you. You did. You stamped it on your forehead.....trying to mock the way I delivered my post. You didn't even consider style.....or typo. Oh no! You went for degrading CHINESE people right away! You didn't talk about the substance of my message. Or, the issue of the thread. You went for the delivery.......the way you said Charlie Chan speaks.....making fun of Chinese people. That's what you get when you talk without thinking. It's quite telling too when your knee-jerk response is to mock Chinese people. Now, own it.....and wear it. Or..........admit to plain and simple stupidity.

😁 And of course, you're gonna accuse Asians who don't agree with you of not being Canadian. Heck - you even proclaim them un-Canadian for not being able to speak English properly! Those with accents? Those with peculiar pronouncement of alphabets? I bet you mock Japanese folks too. Like I said......go on. Keep talking. 🤣 Do you do the same to French people...........or is it only Asians that you hate? Only COLORED PEOPLE? The YELLOW ones? Or, also the COFFEE-toned, or the black? You're racist. Admit it. You're exposed by your own words. You and Treebeard sound like Biden. You ain't black if you vote for Trump! 😁 Biden apologizes for saying African Americans 'ain't black' if they back Trump re-election https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/biden-tells-african-americans-you-ain-t-black-if-they-n1212911 🤣 Folks - DIVISION, HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE TRADEMARK OF THE LIBERAL PARTY OF CANADA. Look what Carney is doing now. He's setting up the stage for backing out of a campaign promise. He'll be putting the blame on the Indigenous chiefs when he won't go with the pipelines that he's promising.

Apparently, according to Power Play - Poilievre's been drawing thousands to his rallies. Carney's lead - kinda reminiscent of Harris, who was said to have surged, caught up with Trump.....and eventually said to be leading! We know what happened to that story. 😁
