The wait, is deadly. I feel for businesses that are going under............for people losing jobs...... It is possible there are negotiations happening underway behind the scenes. We might be surprised by an announcement..........who knows? Keep tab of Trump whenever he speaks. He could mention something about it.

Let's face it: what else can he do but smile, and try to look amuse. It's no secret how Trump harrassed Trudeau about the 51st state! 😁 And everyone knew what happened to Zelenski. The world was watching!

TRUMP TEASES MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT And here is the bombshell announcement! The deal US made with UK! The deal, which the UK government has said will save “thousands of jobs”, will see car export tariffs slashed from 27.5 per cent to 10 per cent, for a quota of 100,000 UK cars. This, the government said, is almost the total the UK exported last year. Mr Trump’s 25 per cent tariffs on steel will be axed entirely, while a levy on ethanol – which is used to produce beer – coming into the UK from the US has been removed entirely. In addition to this, the two governments have negotiated new reciprocal market access on beef, giving UK farmers a tariff free quota of 13,000 metric tonnes of meat. Downing Street has also said that the US has agreed to give the UK “preferential treatment” in any further tariffs imposed as part of Section 232 investigations - a process where the US government determines if certain imports threaten US national security. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/us-uk-trade-deal-beef-explained-trump-starmer-b2747429.html Will Trump give us the same deal...........................or, was he telling Carney, "you'd wish?"
-
Since I nowhere sound like I'm afraid .....................is that you? If you're a Christian, you got nothing to be afraid of.
-
That's why Trump likes, and wanted Carney to win. He probably knows how Carney deals - of course, his advisers would have researched Carney. Carney - being a CEO, would have records, a reputation among colleagues. The conglomerates, big corporations move in a small circle. Poilievre on the other hand, is a wild card. All they know about Poilievre, is what they see.

Many immigrants have conservative values. Religion-based. Visible immigrants went to Trump for conservative reasons. It's highly likely we're going to see the same here.

I agree with you. It hurts seeing our leader looking helpless. But, sometimes.......... you gotta push down hard and swallow the pride. I haven't seen how Starmer was with Trump when they met, but he might've navigated very carefully too. I'd watch it sometime. They just signed a deal. He scrapped the entire tariffs on their steel! I wonder if we get similar deal in a couple of months? A month after his so-called Liberation Day tariffs began to bite, Britain has now achieved a series of significant carve outs from sweeping tariffs on UK carmakers, steelworks and farmers. What carve-outs has the UK secured? The government has failed to secure carve outs for tariffs on pharmaceuticals and the remaining 10 per cent reciprocal tariffs imposed on Britain. The government said “work will continue” on those. There have also been no concessions secured for the film and TV industry, after Mr Trump threatened to apply a 100 per cent levy on films made outside America, which the PM has been warned would devastate film and TV production in the UK. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/us-uk-trade-deal-beef-explained-trump-starmer-b2747429.html

I did say if Carney wins, we'll become the 51st State. They both speak and understand the same language. He'll make some deals with Carney. Carney will make some deals with him. After all, I don't think Trump actually plan to bring us so low on our knees. But those deals won't be the kind of deals we're hoping for. Carney isn't stupid. He'll know when it is game over for us. It's the idea of China and Canada dealing with each other, and Canada leading to far-left, is what's behind Trump's resolve to acquire Canada as a state. And add our land mass and resources to that! Thus Trump sees it as a beautiful "marriage" - MERGER, in the corporate language. I don't think Trump will budge from tariffs. He'll apply the economic pressure. That's how he'll get his way with us. That's why he talked about, "time. we'll see. takes 2 to tango. never say never." We'll feel the pain from taxes. Trump knows that. He's already started dangling the carrot of much lower taxes to Canadians! Two or three years from now - how will Canadians feel about becoming the 51st State? Will we be open to discussions?

I'm waiting for the announcement today that UK made a trade deal with the USA. That must be what Trump was referring to, in his meeting with Carney - that there will be a positive announcement. What deal was struck? Starmer and Trump met sometime after his inauguration. It didn't take long for them to reach a deal. Hopefully, the same with Canada.
-
In fairness.... What would it gain if he butted heads with Trump? Trump could be baiting him...... I could see Carney biting his tongue! I agree that he has to pick his moment.
-
Can we read between the lines? Trump said a lot of nice things about Canada and Carney, like he's wooing Canadians. On becoming the 51st State. "IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO." "It would really be a wonderful marriage...." "Time will tell. It's only time. But I say, never say never. Over time....................we'll see what happens." COURTSHIP has begun? From timer - 8:40
-
Remember how they tried to sell us eating worms? How sure are we that the fast food we eat aren't mixed with ground worms and insects? Would they tell us? Burgers in fast food don't taste like they used to be. I stopped going to them. Making my own. We have to protect our farmers. The cattle industry.

He's become famous for that meeting. 😁
-
I like how Carney handled the meeting yesterday. Imho, he did well. Lol - I could almost see him biting his tongue. 😁 Trump seems to like Carney. The banter on 51st state comment - with Carney making an analogy on the White House as not something for sale, and the "never say never" - the looks on their faces, says it all.
-
I wonder if Carney and Trump had actually rubbed elbows before in their corporate world outside of politics.......................even if just in social functions? They most likely heard of each other (and knew of their calibers), due to their mega status in the world stage..............even if they didn't actually meet.

I'm really wondering if Smith had divulged all that was discussed with Trump when she visited Maralago. Could the possibility of Alberta being annexed to the USA, brought up at all? Could a referendum be the requirement, thus it's happening fast? Kinda like an empty dance-floor. Someone has got to get on the floor and dance, to get the others dancing. Alberta will be the first one. Others will follow? Could that be the game? -

This might be the closest step made to separation. If there is enough signatures - there will be a referendum. You could be right, taxme. -
So....you agree. It's a demonization.

This is a socialist propaganda. Desperately trying to demonize maga. Nothing disimilar with how the socialist element in our society had tried to demonize the FREEDOM CONVOY! Convoy money didn't come from 'foreign actors,' CSIS told officials during protest CSIS director's account of extremists was at odds with government's rationale for triggering Emergencies Act https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/convoy-protest-money-csis-1.6621944

For those who think all we have to do is wait for Trump to go away in four years......sorry, I don't think that will make any difference. Like I said, if things are rosy for the Americans, his successor will be someone who'll continue what he started. I'm thinking of Vance. BUT........ TRUMP 2028, is being promoted! It's highly likely we'll be dealing with Trump again! The question is.....................which TRUMP? https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/politics/rewrite-the-rules-eric-trump-promoting-new-trump-2028-hat-on-social-media/ar-AA1DF2A5 -
The news streaming today says: Iran will strike back if US or Israel strikes. We were just watching a movie yesterday. THREADS. It's an apocalyptic British movie done in the '80s. I can't help but be reminded of that movie. I can't help but be reminded of America in the End Times. https://archive.org/details/threads_202007

Am I expecting a resolution? No. Of course not. But I wouldn't say it's just a "meet and greet." I don't think we can really say it's a "social call." Though they might not actually do negotiations..........there would be a discussion on trade.
-
You think Carney is going to waste time for just a meet and greet? That must mean.............. They've become................golf buddies!
