http://ezralevant.com/2010/05/the-cbcs-leftwing-bias.html The CBC can go on in its biased, unethical reporting because unlike other networks, the CBC is not beholden to viewers and advertisers. It's funded by us.
-
Sun News, at least, is upfront about its political leaning! They are right-wing! They say so! CBC, and other media should be upfront as well and indicate where they lean, unless they can keep their bias in check and deliver ethical journatlistic reporting. To posture as an unbiased media is mis-leading. Media, with its own agenda, is poison to democracy!

How loosely the term democracy was bandied about as a weapon to smear Harper. Dictatorial, was another. Most of the folks who quickly picked up the attack words have never really lived or experienced being under a dictator nor an un-democratic government. Perhaps it's why they fail to see the irony... Under a dictatorship or undemocratic government, propaganda plays a major role. Telecomunications and all other media become the most effective tool. The events that unfolded leading to the elections showed the imbalance and/or distortion of information. The biased opinion-laden newscasting of journalists, the deceitful efforts to undermine the election result should not be taken lightly by all....whether you're a blue or a red or whatever party you support. What happened to the people's right to know? What good is it to know....if you cannot rely on the credibility of those who gives you the information? Media should be un-biased in their reporting. We have a serious problem.

Typical Libs and by that I mean moron. They don't see beyond the obvious. This is not about the science of polling, duh!

Sunday Question Period did a poll among their viewers. The question was: Does the Conservatives deserve a majority? 74% said yes 18% said No Looks like that poll reflected the outcome! The Cons got a majority! The news featured a hamburger joint (can't remember the name) that did their own way of polling by selling burgers representing the various parties. They said the best-seller was the Conservatives....and they predicted they'll get the majority! Btw, Joel Bellevance and Nik Nanos said that majority was still possible although it would really be tough getting it.

And the result from the complaint filed: Excerpt.. http://www.torontosun.com/comment/columnists/lorrie_goldstein/2010/05/21/14041741.html I don't want to pay for the CBC. That network should be just like any other networks. Is there any petition-signing to get CBC off the funding?

CBC official pollster for the CBC Frank Graves really blew it! Just like the guy who created the Vote Compass for the CBC, Graves was an adviser for the Liberals. Just watch this probe by Ezra Levant. http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/video/featured/prime-time/867432237001/probing-the-pollsters/931184303001 The taxpayers shouldn't be paying for the CBC!

There's nothing to compare the feeling of seeing the red turned blue! Jason Kenney did an amazing job connecting with the new Canadians and mionorities in Ontario, especially in the GTA. Being a minority myself, I remember when I first came to Canada. Well-meaning "veterans" of the same race tried to help me understand a a little of politics by explaining to me: Conservatives and Reform are racists. You vote Liberal. A good thing I got curious to know for myself. When I listened to Manning, I thought: gee, I don't hear anything that's racist to me. Actually it all sound common sense and practical what he says. Kenney is right. Values of the Conservatives reflect the same values of a lot of minorities. As long as Harper/Kenney continue their fair and practical policies regarding immigration, they will become the darling of the new Canadians. Quebec is too unpredictable. Layton will have that headache. Harper was right in concentrating in Ontario. No more special privileges for Quebec. Just be fair to all provinces.....Harper will be in for a long time. And he's only 52. Congratulations to the Conservatives. May you be inspired and blessed by God in your decisions.

When Milewski was boo-ed by supporters for questioning Harper, somebody in the crowd yelled to Harper: you should start with the CBC! Actually, CBC should be just like CTV. We need to tighten our belt, don't we? I should think that by this time, CBC ought to be able to make it on its own legs, just like CTV. Cutting the CBC loose and giving some funding to Arts and Culture instead will be more practical.

Who will be the next conservative train wreck?
betsy replied to WWWTT's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Guergis made her own bed. Imho, going public in the middle of an election the way she did sealed her doom. Even the public knew then that it would be unwise for the PM to have her back with the Conservatives. What I'm interested to see are the newbie NDP MPs in Quebec which were swept in by the tide. Like that cocktail waitress....if her "interest" in politics is at such a low that she'd much rather spend the election campaign in Vegas, how will she fare in Parliament? A lot of young people among the newbies, nothing wrong with age.... ...but young poeple usually start out by working from down the ladder and climb their way up...... How many among these newbies will be embarrassments for Layton? -
NDP Judy Wasilyscialys (Spelling of last name not right)said yesterday on CBC segment Firing Line, NDP will create thousands of jobs in the first 100 days! When challenged by Conservatives and Liberals....she tried to deflect. Only proves NDP platform is pure fantasy! BLUE LIBERALS, don't let NDP wreck the nation.

You're happy to malign CHRISTIANITY. Period. You're letting your hatred blind you. You don't even realize that you hang yourself with your own rope. You spout off starting with a hypocritical statement....and finishes off contradicting and exposing yourself. You're maligning the Christian God. You're at war with the Christian God!

Harper predicts Layton will be in Opp
betsy replied to Mr.Canada's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Everyone is boggled by this....especially the NDP! Who would've thought the protests - that's what analysts are calling it - against Cons, Libs and Blocs will all benefit Jack? Hopefully those protesting had gotten their anger out of their system and get back to the reality of the consequences should we actually get an NDP-led government. -
Thanks to Paul Martin. No thanks to Flaherty, who has brought back deficits, and whose government has engaged and is engaged in reckless, unnecessary spending. Interesting that you mention the stimulus spending. The opposition parties basically had to force Flaherty's hand on this. That's another argument that I'm sure had been debated in this forum! All that, water under the bridge at this point....when we're foised to make one big decision tomorrow that will see us either maintaining a steady course (that hopefully will see us through a full recovery), or suddenly plummetting down. This fact however, remains: Canada remained standing during the economic crisis we just had! Canada was one of the few, if not the only one, that emerged unscathed, compare to the devastations of other wealthy countries all over the world Is this the time to gamble just so to find out whether you're right? That this is not the same NDP? Are the stakes not too high that we'll experiment trying out NDP....with most of its MPs very inexperienced (just like that lady running in Quebec who's spending the time in Vegas during the campaign?), and not that seriously considering the enormity of the responsibility since they never thought they'd ever get to this incredible turn of events that makes actually becoming involved in the governing process a real big possibility. The NDP were as surprised as we are about their surge. Their MPs seemed to have just been picked willy-nilly just so to have representation in ridings...because they never expected to win anyway. I don't know about you....but that's really scary to me. We're not facing normal times. We need experienced people to tackle the current situation. Nanos poll last night got them up from 35% to 38%. NDP got down a bit from 30% to 28%. I am trying to muster optimism that people are re-thinking the whole thing. Giving the Cons a majority means only 4 years in governing. Why not give it a chance to prove itself...after all they're the ones at the helm during the economic crisis. IF they prove unsatisfactory to you, you can replace them next election with the party of your choice. Blue Liberals, consider the consequences of an NDP-led government. Give the Conservatives the majority.
-
That's he-said-he-said argument. What good will it do us both to dig into that? What remains is this fact: Canada remained standing during the economic crisis we just had! Canada was one of the few, if not the only one, that emerged unscathed, compared to the devastations of other wealthy countries all over the world. That's what count at this time! To maintain that. To go ahead with full recovery as our focused goal! Where will we be same time next year if we get the NDP to come in and dismantle everything that's already been in place? Just NDP's hostile stance against corporations alone will mean throwing all the stimulus packages we've spent so far....and we're back to square one, if not ending way down at the bottom of the heap! Blue Liberals, please reflect on that. We desperately need a majority this time.
-
I also included myself in that prayer....always ask for His mercy. God bless you too.

Harper appealing to BLUE LIBERALS: Give Conservatives the majority so we can have a stable government. We are facing difficult times ahead. The economic effect of a devastated Japan, the effect of revolts and uncertainty in the Middle East....the effects of natural disasters in parts of the world....all these will impact the whole world. We are seeing the results. The gas prices are going up....we're seeing food prices soaring....all commodities will follow. I don't fully understand the complexity of economics but all I understand are these: We cannot go on a sky-high spending binge without us - the taxpayers - ending up picking the tab! How can we possibly afford to sustain all the promises of the NDP? When you look at each of these spendings....Jack's talking massive spendings for each and every policies! Now is not the time to threaten and pick a fight with the wealthy! The wealthy are the ones who will invest! It doesn't take much to imagine what will happen if our government is seen as hostile to corporations and the wealthy. We are not the only island in the ocean. The wealthy will just as soon go somewhere else to invest....and numerous struggling countries will just be more than happy to have and accomodate them! We do not need a government that's associated with socialism. Wealth-distribution and anti-business ideologies. We'll end up losing big corporations....and we'll end up having only businesses that relies on being subsidized. Canadian businesses are having a rough time competing as it is right now what with all the various restrictions that they face in Canada compared to other places....and what with all the cheap labor available to most parts of the world. We don't have to think hard to imagine what the choices are for these businesses. We need big corporations. They are the ones who provide thousands of employments! While there's nothing wrong with small businesses....how many small businesses do we need to equal the amount of employment huge corporations generate? We live in a capitalist world, wether we want to or not. Raise the corporate tax.....who ends up paying for that? Consumers. We'll be carrying that tab! Whom are we kidding? Look at the policies of the NDP. Reflect on each one of them. How realistic is it to imagine that we can have all those out of thin air? The scary part is the reality that no tax hike is ever just temporary! Once it's there, it stays there. Just take a look at the GST! How difficult to get rid of it once it's revenue is relied on. Liberals, you hold the power to steer us in the right direction.
-
Oh boy, you're so quick to jump in his wagon.....with anyone who could be your ally to malign Christians. That's the big issue in this so-called "discussion" between Charter Rights and I! There is no real argument! He's obtusely dodging and he just keeps ricocheting all over the place like a pinball. Instead of dismissing him right off the bat (which I should have done), I thought he's got something to say that's worth talking about except that perhaps it's not explained right or there's some sort of mis-communication. I should've left it right there and should've waved bye-bye when he showed he clearly doesn't even know what he's talking about! For crying out loud he's giving me his interpretation of Bible passages and telling me how I'm not understanding them....when in fact, he doesn't even know the BASIC meaning of being a Christian! I just thought you should know....so you wouldn't be making another reckless statement! Anyway, you two have a nice chat! I'm resting and preparing for Monday.... May God have mercy on you both.

The mainstream tv media is not talking about this, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's under the radar. Social networks and places like Maple Leaf Forum are probably buzzing like beehives! Anyone been to other sites? Anybody got twitted? Btw, Nanos new poll today....Conservatives back up 9 point lead again at 38.something, NDP down a bit at 28.something and Liberals I think went back up to 22.something. So maybe the scandal resonated somewhere.....or people are starting to sober up. -

Was he a councillor for that area? If yes, shouldn't he know the pressing issues/problems in his area? Obviously slave trade is a problem, especially with the Triad. Which is worse for a councillor? Getting seen in that bawdy establishment....or being ignorant about the issues/problems in his community? -

The onus is on people who are in politics to be more cautious! That, or be prepared to face whatever consequence(s) arise from reckless or ignorant decisions.
