ID twisted his words? What on earth are you on about? They took the quote from his own site! We're not talking ID. Here - his last update was recently! https://www.jmtour.com/personal-topics/evolution-creation/ Look at his open letter to his colleagues, too - are you in denial?

no scientist alive today understands macroevolution

James Tour is quite aggressive. He openly challenge any scientist giving disinformation. Like this one, when he chastised Jeremy England: https://evolutionnews.org/2017/08/with-a-footnote-synthetic-chemist-james-tour-delivers-chastisement-to-mits-jeremy-england/ -
Why do you insist that he's with Intelligent Design???? Did you read the article you've just quoted? Did you see the first two sentences? Here: I have been labeled as an Intelligent Design (sometimes called “ID”) proponent. I am not. And, no I take it back - I wasn't wrong in choosing that term. My mistake was not being very clear about it. He is AGAINST the way macroevolution is being peddled as a fact!
-
Wrong choice of word - he doesn't understand it. NO ONE UNDERSTAND IT! He's against the way macroevolution is being peddled and passed off as a fact! He said, it's all extrapolations! He's been rattling cages, and seems to want someone to try and counter his claim(s). No one has, so far. He's very aggressive - and he has the credibility, especially when there's no one refuting his claims!

Here's an interesting Open Letter penned by James Tour, aimed at his colleagues. It's a very long letter, he explained scientific stuffs......and he confidently posed a challenge to his colleagues to counter him. It's quite long so let me just give his simple question. http://inference-review.com/article/an-open-letter-to-my-colleagues -
He's not a proponent of Intelligent Design. But he is among some scientists who signed a petition against macroevolution. James Tour, had penned an open letter to his colleagues. I'll be posting it in the other thread - his thread.

I suppose you didn't see that link I gave above.

Evolution does happens.....but not macroevolution. What so-called "facts?" There are no evidence for macroevolution! No one denies ADAPTATION. There is evolution within species. Ut's called "MICROevolution. http://www.nas.edu/evolution/Definitions.html

Maybe, just in case.........they don't want to uncover what the PM won't want us to know?

She could become like the Khadr children, for all we know. Yes, I agree with you about the Vietnamese. I know a Vietnamese mother who's second generation, and she's got this son whom she named "Johnson." Out of curiousity, I asked her how come she named him Johnson - was it after the US President? No, she said. It's the baby powder. She was serious too.

The "devout Christian" was a description from the grandmother. The school involved memorizing passages (lots of them) from the Bible. They were described as Pentecostal Christian.
Yes inspections on a private school might have caught something. I am not sure how that would go down with the far right small government crowd however.

We're not talking about Trump, or anyone else in particular. I wonder how many billionaires secretly view everyone who isn't, a lesser man? But since you made Trump as an example, I don't think you can claim with "100% certainty" that Trump views Pence as lesser a man. The reasons you cited are part of protocol. There is a protocol to follow - just like they do with royalty. Of course, the second-in-command will have to stand behind the leader. Not only is it protocol, but there's also symbolism in it: as a sign of unity, the Vice President stands behind the President (as in, I stand behind your decision). It's not only with Pence and Trump. As for the nodding head - that has something to do with optics. I don't know the exact term for it but it has to do with psychology that's aimed at the viewers. Check out the people standing behind Trudeau when he makes a speech - there'll be some who'll be nodding. That's part of the game. They're trying to influence voters. Guess what's #1 on the list. The Nod. https://listverse.com/2013/02/03/10-psychology-tricks-you-can-use-to-influence-people/ http://www.study-body-language.com/head-nod.html#sthash.MVUzhPSv.dpbs

Well, I suppose.....if you view the Vice President as a "lesser man" than the President....then, that's what a woman is to your interpretation of the Bible. But that is not the case. That's the feminist pov. I don't think being second-in-command makes for a lesser person. Have you ever seen a kingdom with two kings thriving peacefully?

See what I mean? You responded to it. Had you not made a search about it - the OP had started what could've turned out to be a discussion between you and others. That's my point: any topics might generate some discussions. That topic did - you were its first customer. You responded to it! Don't be petty.
-
You go to all that trouble? Can that be an example of being mean-spirited? To waste your time and energy, searching to see if you can get this new poster infracted, or booted out from here? Btw. Reality check: You're not a mod anymore. Just use the Club feature, for crying out loud! You've got clubs - you can choose your members! I just took a quick peek at Clubs. I don't know why the last activity in your "Sudo Intellectual" club was in the first week of December. No wonder you're rampaging here. Why is your Club dormant? Unlike MLF (at least it's still alive, even if sputtering and trying to revive), yours grounded to a halt! That didn't take long, too. Did it ever occur to you that maybe......... it's because of you? Silly, pretentious clubs won't make it. Like as if sensible people won't see right through it. Look at your club! It's a good example. See what happens if MLF do it your way??? It'll be Hara-Kiri!

Taking a break again. See why we need large fonts and colors??? Of course, you got creamed debating with me. I don't blame you if you're too excited to see me gone. I would be too, if I were you. You tend to want to shut out people when you can't win. Didn't you brag, "I put an actual PHD on ignore today !" I can just imagine why. Anyway....I thought you're happy with your clubs? I promise, I won't even try to join. You're safe there. And .....btw.......why not keep me on ignore? Ciao. PS. I call them "bots"....because I don't know the appropriate term to call one-time-topic-creating posters. They usually disappear too, after posting their OPs. Though it's unappealing to respond to new posters for the said reason (speaking for myself) - they still can help generate traffic. I don't see any reasons why a member can't repeat stating his views on this site. So, I agree with CA on this one.

Pettiness, is what's killing this board. By members, and the authorities that be. At times, it's like being around snotty-nosed brats who can't keep from whining about anything! That includes, pettiness with usage of features that are supposedly being given to its members - like, usage of colors and fonts! AND, emojis! Well, ladida....either you're offering them, or not! Don't offer them and turn around to tell me, "don't use them!" This makes me fume. Taking a break again. I'm joining forums to enjoy myself. Going off to spend my time where I can use the features that are offered.
-
If rules had changed about that one, that's good. Posters shouldn't be infracted, or punished for re-posting their views, what more when they're reposting their topic on this site. Forums don't have the very same members so naturally, some folks just want to get the response from various forums. Especially when you don't have a busy board (with only a few regulars, not to mention hardly any viewers)........who would spend a great deal of time trying to compose an original OP?? Get real. How many among the active few here are prolific in starting threads? Not that there's anything wrong if they're not into starting topics. But you need topics! Topics started by "fly-by-night" posters aren't appealing! These posters tend to disappear from the radar, and they abandon their own threads! They're not aiming to discuss, by the looks of it. Check them out. They smell like "bots." This forum should take what topics they can get (of course I'm referring to decent ones) just to help generate some activity..........and stop being petty.

These So-Called "Contradictions" In The Bible.
betsy replied to betsy's topic in Religion & Politics
I was born to a Christian family , and was raised to believe that the Bible is the Word of God. My faith wasn't strong, and looking back, I don't think I was a real Christian.....until God had led me back to Him, and I became a born again. The few years that followed was hectic in the sense that I felt I had no control, and I was led from one place to another. My personal experience(s) of God intervention, answering of questions/prayers (some almost instantly), "God-moment"..... .............had cemented that faith and belief. The Bible is a medium to provide some answers and insights in some cases. Forgive me if I don't get into any further discussion at this time. -
It's not about what you think. What makes you think what you think - - a non-believer - matters at all in this? A non-believer in God talking about what he thinks God will do. That's funny. It's about what's written, and what they believe. That kind of response is so common among non-believers - who know diddly squat about the doctrine! An empty jug making lots of hollow noises, comes to mind. Your opinion below is a good example: read the explanation. That's irrelevant. You're not the first one to say something similar. FYI.... https://www.gotquestions.org/Christian-martyrdom.html Mind you, I've seen news that says some Christians prefer to stay behind in Syria. I don't know if faith plays a role in it, but the reason cited was due to familiarity and sentiment - they don't want to leave their homes.

Canada - a wholly owned province of China

When Trudeau spouts off about security measures and screenings regarding AECON takeover - surely he can't be serious? http://www.kelownadailycourier.ca/business_news/national_business/article_5448ec38-3887-5307-af87-a0db5a9a59d8.html Since Trudeau came to power, he seems to be selling Canada to China, piece-by-piece. https://beta.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/ottawa-approves-sale-of-bc-retirement-home-chain-to-chinese-group-with-murky-ownership/article34107591/?ref=http://www.theglobeandmail.com& http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2017/06/08/oilsands-investment-china_n_17005774.html What about NORSAT? Trudeau's vocal admiration for China's regime, is followed by a display of coziness. http://nationalpost.com/opinion/terry-glavin-the-liberal-government-has-become-a-pro-china-propaganda-machine It's like Trudeau selling our soul to the devil. Human failings doesn't make Christianity at fault. That's the point.
