  1. I hope I don't freeze if it ever happens here. I might just be all talk right now......
  2. I was responding to that particular scenario that I quoted. Are you saying you wouldn't resort to any violence to protect your family?
  3. Who told you that? Didn't Jesus cite from the Old Testament when He was debating, or stating a point? I thought you said you've read the Bible? So....why do you ask such question? You're confused with some requirements that are no longer relevant because of the Messiah - like, the sacrificing of animals to atone for sins. We don't have to use the Old Testament to show that homosexuality is a sin. It's also stated in the New Testament.
  4. Are you willing to gamble the life of your family?
  5. I was responding to yours! Didn't you not give the scenario of a restricted gun?
  6. If you're pointing it at an intruder in your home - boy, I don't care what you find hateful, but I surely don't find it that. It's better I get the upper hand! Using a restricted gun would be the least of my worries. Are you willing to gamble the life of your family? You never answered that question.
  7. I'm responding to the particular scenario given by Hal. I cannot really comment much about the Boushie incident since I don't really know the particulars.
  8. Even if he's acquitted to everything - just the fact that you're forced to get a lawyer to defend yourself (which translate to expenses), and to get into that kind of stress....is a hateful scenario.
  9. What exactly do you claim to know? Where did those info come from? You're not a member of the jury who deliberated over the FACTS!
  10. Titus 2 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. To be continued.......
  11. 1 Timothy 3 16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God[a] was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
  12. Philippians 2 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
  13. John 20 Seeing and Believing 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” 28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas,[d] because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Why would Thomas call Jesus his God? Why didn't Jesus correct Thomas if Jesus isn't God? Think for a minute there. Why would Jesus let Thomas believe wrongly if Jesus isn't God? Why would Jesus let him go on thinking He is God?
  14. John 14 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
  15. John 10 30 I and My Father are one.” Renewed Efforts To stone Jesus 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” 33 The Jews answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.” The Jews understood what He's claiming Himself to be. He wasn't claiming to be from God, or like God. He was claiming He is GOD!
  16. John 1:1-3 The Eternal Word In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. John 8 19 Then they asked him, “Where is your father?” “You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” Dispute over who Jesus is 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” 25 “Who are you?” they asked. “Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied. 26 “I have much to say in judgment of you. But he who sent me is trustworthy, and what I have heard from him I tell the world.” 27 They did not understand that he was telling them about his Father. 28 So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up[a] the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me. 29 The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” Jesus' Claims About Himself 50 I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeks it, and he is the judge. 51 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.” 54 Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me. 55 Though you do not know him, I know him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know him and obey his word. God seeks glorification. Why would Jesus claim that God glorifies Him? Why would God glorify the Son, if they're not One and the Same?
  17. Still with Isaiah. Isaiah 44 Judah Will Be Restored 24 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself; Compare with: John 1:3 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. Colossians 1 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. Also, "Image of the invisible God." John 4:24 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. God is Spirit that's why He is invisible.......but Jesus is God, in the flesh. All things that are attributed to God, are attributed to Jesus. To be continued.......
  18. Speaking for myself - Jesus is BOTH!
  19. There is more to simply reading the Scriptures.
  20. Still on Isaiah, long before Jesus was born: Isaiah 44 There Is No Other God 6 “Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God. Compare with Revelation: Revelation 1:17-18 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me,[a] “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. Revelation 2:8 The Persecuted Church 8 “And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, ‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: To be continued......
  21. Let's start with Isaiah 45 (long before Jesus came to us). This is God talking: The Lord, the Only Savior 18 For thus says the Lord, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: “I am the Lord, and there is no other. 21 Tell and bring forth your case; Yes, let them take counsel together. Who has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time? Have not I, the Lord? And there is no other God besides Me, A just God and a Savior; There is none besides Me. 22 “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. Jesus is also Lord. Luke 2: 11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 1 Cor 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him. There are more NT verse that says Jesus as Lord. ------------------------------ Isaiah 9 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
  22. There are so many verses in the Bible that show Jesus is none other but God incarnated - EMMANUEL (God among is). Yes, He is introduced to us as the Son of God - thus we also refer to Him as the Son of God. It is hard to fathom the Three-in-One concept, after all we don't have the capacity to fully understand.
