  1. Don't fall for this vaccinated vs unvaccinated juxtaposition. It is deliberate attempt of sowing of discord among the population. The feud only exists on the social media. Not in real life.
  2. When you think about the vaccine-passport with the QR-code on your phone one can't help thinking that this wouldn't have been technically possible only some years ago. Similarly, can't help thinking when technology develops what kind of things will become possible in the future.
  3. This shit-show will go on to the unforeseeable future. Just get used to it. It goes up and down and people are pushed to the point of desperation that if only they do as they are told they can have their old life back. Go to the pub, take a foreign holiday, meet their friends without counting how many people there are etc. But unfortunately it is not going to end. We have clearly entered some new era and the old world is gone forever.
  4. Had you asked two years ago if somebody was vaccinated they would have have asked vaccinated for what. Nowadays there is the vaccine. Not a vaccine.
  5. The infections seem to grow exponentially every day so this is better to be a mild variant or no health system is going to cope.
  6. Some nurses got some unwanted attention by stating a couple of days ago how they would just like to pull the plugs of the unvaccinated patients. Perhaps an understandable outburst under the extreme work-strain. However, how did the vaccine help those patients who also ended up ion the hospital?
  7. Bars, concerts, foreign holidays etc. That is kind of understandable as they are not human rights by any standard but grocery stores? Get the jab or starve? Honestly?
  8. It's the same here in Finland. It's a popular joke to say how winter took all the drivers by surprise. After all, winter only happens like every year.
  9. I have been thinking about this really much. How far are they going to push this and why are they pushing it so hard. I hope I'm right that Finland is softer than Germany in the sense that it can't get that bad here that you couldn't get to the grocery store without being vaccinated. In Germany they have no such qualms . I work for a multinational company where it is just a matter of time they will make the vaccine-passports mandatory.
  10. Indeed, do this thing we ask you to do and then we will leave you alone. How has that worked before? It's quite an eye-opening observation how easily people can be incited to hate each other as even here in Finland we get to hear all the time by some people that the unvaccinated people should be rounded up and put on some isolated island etc. 1930's anyone?
  11. I think we are past lockdowns. Places aren't going to be shut any more. It's just that soon you'll need the vaccine passport to get into almost anywhere. Even grocery stores.
  12. What happened to the Xi-variant as we are already at Omicron? Heh! When they run out of the Greek alphabet they'll start naming the next variants after stars and there is an infinite amount of stars. You'll never run out of stars.
  13. Here in Finland there is some legal technicality which stops making vaccination compulsory. Therefore they have resorted to propaganda of painting the unvaccinated people as either morons or villains. You don't want to be a moron or a villain, do you? However, a classical diveda et impera-situation. People pitted against each other.
  14. I'll surrender when they make a law here in Finland that take the jab or starve but not before that. I don't know about your situation in Canada but here in Finland people who are most ardently pushing the vaccine are the ones who previously haven't had the best interests of the Finnish people as their first priority.
  15. I wouldn't have believed a year ago that in one year's time, which is now, we would still have this covid-bullshit going on but here we are. However, I have become a pessimist. I'm absolutely sure that in one year's time from now we will still have this thing going on being urged to take our 7th jab.
  16. In some countries the law permits the employers to demand that their employees have been vaccinated. I think that in return the employees should then have the right to be paid 24/7.
  17. If you have any sense of humour you surely must think the let's go Brandon-meme was funny even if you voted for Biden. Unfortunately, as always happens with jokes, they are overdone and lose their original touch.
  18. The standard of politicians has really gone down. Biden has run for President before but previously was not even close to win the nomination. Many people ask is Biden really the best the Dems have got? Looking at the primaries, Tulsi Gabbard is not enough attached to the prevailing narrative and Sanders is too far to the left for the Americans. The rest of them truly were even worse than Biden.
  19. Most people who voted for Biden just wanted to get rid of Trump but not have woke-shit rubbed in their faces. The Democrats learned that the hard way. Perhaps they draw conclusions from the experience.
  20. If Biden can get through his whole term, and that is a big if, it is clear that he is not fit for a second term and there needs to be another candidate in 2024. In such case Kamala Harris would have no chance in the primaries. So hated she is even among the Democrats. However, if the very likely scenario happens and Biden has to go before his term ends and Kamala Harris becomes President would she be challenged in the primaries? Normally the incumbent President seeking re-election doesn't have to worry about the primaries. Nomination is self-evident. Has it even ever happened that the President's own party has rejected him when picking a candidate for an election? If it has it must be 1800s. It could be totally different with President Kamala.
  21. Conservatives can't win elections by being cuckservatives. This applies to every country.
  22. In the Netherlands where they have a PR electoral system they elected 17 parties to their parliament. That's a bit overdoing PR. In other countries with PR they have thresholds between 3-5% to stop splinter-parties from entering parliament. However, nobody can deny that the Netherlands is one of the best places to live in the world. Therefore the claims that changing the electoral system to be fairer would somehow lead to turmoil are rubbish.
  23. Useless to translate the number of seats for each party if instead of FPTP there had been a PR electoral-system as people's voting behaviour would be totally different. I guess that even in Canada the Greens would get something like 10% if every vote mattered.
  24. They still lost the popular vote. In other words only the electoral system saved them.
  25. Doesn't this mean that there's almost certainly going to be another election a lot sooner than in 4 years time?
