  1. Did they offer any evidence of this? Any proof that his suicide was connected to his treatment?
  2. But I had to provide an 'example' for you, since your worship of all things Carter is obstructing the reality of the middle east. His comparing it to aparthied, for instance, was an insult to those blacks who lived under that oppression. Not to mention Israel, who just gave a big chunk of land to the Palestinians in yet another attempt to win the peace. They get missiles and attacks and a stupid book by JK in response. Instead of taking over the Palestinians, like they could do in 24 hours, they build a wall to keep the bomb back packs away. Jimmy just can't get over his failed presidency. He's been stickng his nose in the U.S. government's business, trying to make up for his disaster of a presidency ever since. Another gigantic failure he authored was the north korea treaty. We certainly don't need his influence on the Middle East. Hopefully his advanced years catch up with him and he spends the rest of his days like Reagan, in actual retirement.
  3. I haven't seen the game but have seen a couple of DVDs in the series as well as reading 2 of the books. What hate do you speak of? The series tells a story of an end time scenario where the characters are trying to survive, and do not hate their oppressors.
  4. Kyoto is not a global approach so much as it is a wealth transfer approach as most of the leading countries of the world get heavily squeezed and backward countries get to pollute to their hearts' content. A global approach would be when ALL countries cut down on emissions.
  5. So what in Biblio's post was against the rules, or do you just not like him? This topic reminds me of the time I found Gerryhatrick had double posted in another forum by another name. It was a large post and word for word, so I started calling him by his other name occasionally. Although it wasn't against the rules, he lobbied Greg and somehow got Greg to take his side, who informed me not to use his other name. I thought the whole thing was silly, but when in Rome...
  6. We all know what Jack's got on HIS MIND! He should really stop undressing Harper though.
  7. I'd call Carter a has been except he's a neva wuz. He has no business telling other governments anything when he was so inept with his own. His book borders on anti-semitism, so of course all Israel haters will gobble up every word.
  8. That was good, Condi swingin' was hilarious!!
  9. Yeah, we just did over a decade of hard time under the Liberals and it will take us at least two terms to recover. But those who hold the reins of power will not go quietly. This idea of changing the Senate is a good shart, though, and guess who's spearheading it? The Tories.
  10. I think it's time for me to remind everyone that Larouche did serious time in the big house and decided to run for office while wearing prison orange. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  11. Uh, well they seem to ignore Jesus's messages. One comes to mind, love your neighbor as yourself.(Everyone you cross paths with is your neighbor.) Since they do not love people who are gay as God does, they are in error and are not doing God's will.
  12. Wow, I hadn't watched your clip on the plans to protest the amish funerals. Words fail me. What she is saying proves her to be a nutjob. Too bad they even gave her airtime.
  13. That guy has some gall, suing the Cdn gov. and then asking for money from the people who will be paying any $$ he gets in a law suit. Pathetic.
  14. Last time I checked, people have a right to protest and carry signs, even if they are stupid people. Funny how some topics get such knee jerk reactions. I wouldn't wish anyone to get stomped into chunky red paste, especially when they are doing something legal.
  15. Who cares? I'd rather see someone realize that SSM is a "fundamental human right" later rather than never. You don't seem to realize a flopper can flop again, saying ssm is wrong.
  16. You've got to admit, Dion is much closer to Kerry than Harper is to Stalin. Harper hasn't killed off a few million of Canadians, for instance.
  17. Another thread, another hijack by norm and his favourite topic, drugs.
  18. Australia employs roadside saliva tests which are sensitive to the presence of marijuana: http://www.marijuananews.com/marijuananews..._testing_it.htm If Canadian police forces are allowed to employ breathalyzers for alcohol, I see no reason why they couldn't measure saliva for marijuana. Norm, is there any topic on this forum that you won't hijack so you can trot out one of your favourite ponies and beat it to death on?
  19. Nobody said cops should only be white. Please don't put words in other peoples' mouths. Obviously you read selectively, I was saying that to be an RCMP officer you should have to wear the whole uniform. You can be any sex or colour you like. And I haven't read all of your posts. Skip up to see what I actually said. Your strawman arguments are rather transparent. My point about the Saudis was the pc people don't seem to care about the treatment of women over there(feel free to insert yourself in this category) but get their knickers in a bunch if immigrants are exposed to our culture. Quite hypcritical. And I'm sure most on this board are not interested in what you are wearing. Those who are should not be encouraged.
  20. I care for one. jbg, that was quite a move, standing up to the man(CBC) and winning. I can see how hatrick would not like it though.
  21. It seems to be a real trend this year. Stores are directing their greeters to actually say the C word. No doubt those who hate the thought of this are preparing a backlash of protest at hearing the word Christmas spoken out loud. I say if you don't like it, turn the radio station or go to a different store and try not to whine about it.
  22. Wow, Drea, this is the third post I've read of yours in the last several minutes, and to be honest, you sound a little bitter about something. Ranting on this forum may help you vent but it's a lttle painful for the rest of us. Anyway, I don't see Canada following Blair's lead. We already have two tier laws. Everybody has to wear bicycle helmuts, but those with 'religious headgear' are exempt. If you want to be An RCMP officer, you have to wear the uniform, unless that pesky headgear issue raises it's head, then you don't have to wear the RCMP headgear. Personally, I hope the trend in Britian grows. If you want to move to another country, you need to observe that country's norms, not force your norms on everybody else. Places like Saudi Arabia are way out in front on this with foreign women having to observe Muslim norms. The PC police don't seem to mind that, they only freak out if an immigrant in Canada has to hear a Christmas carol or something.
  23. Would you mind linking to it, I tried googling but could only get old ctv polls. It's not unexpected that the Liberals would have a bounce in popularity after a leadership convention, every leadership convention has that. 2 or 3 weeks from now the numbers will show how much of the bounce they kept. Edit: Furthermore, the CTV poll you cite is actually a Strategic Council poll, and on analyzing their numbers over the last several months, they usually had higher results for the Libs and lower results for the Tories. Can you say "bias"? The poll I referenced is Ipsos Reid.
  24. A poll conducted last Thursday didn't get much in the way of coverage leading up to the Liberal shindig on the weekend. It shows that the liberal party under any of the candidates would lose to the Tories. ''In fact, it would appear that after a divisive and hard-fought leadership race that Liberal voters are as divided as the Liberal convention delegates themselves. The results suggest the issue for Liberals is not who can defeat the Conservative government, but rather: Who can put the Liberal party back together again?'' It apears that the Liberal party is still a long way off from being able to challenge for a majority government, they need time to rebuild their damaged reputation.
