Who will Make Canada Great Again?
NAME REMOVED replied to athos's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You just posted that Canada could become one of the most prosperous, and successful nations in the World, when we already have been for the past 100 years. -
Well, the Person of the Year award does not go to the one who makes society better, or necessarily done something Honorable. The criteria to win, is during the past year, if they have had a influenced the World, whether positive or negative. In 2001, I believe that Time initially wanted to make Osama Bin Laden the Person of the Year, but decided that was too controversial, and went with Giuliani. This is the second time Trump was voted Person of the Year. He won the award in 2016.

"In the 21st century, the overall number of conflicts has increased, but the number of fatalities and intensity has not increased at the same rate. There are more conflicts, many of which now involve some form of external intervention. The average number of conflict dyads per conflict has almost doubled." source; https://www.visionofhumanity.org/the-rise-of-endless-wars-understanding-unresolved-conflicts/#:~:text=In the 21st century%2C the,per conflict has almost doubled.

Trump's foreign policy was a disaster. First, he abandoned the Kurdish people, and destabilised Syria by withdrawing all troops. Then he held up aid and training to Ukraine. China sees through Trump as a very weak leader, and will do everything possible to interfere and possibly invade Taiwan. Finally, he withdrew troops from Afghanistan, when the US was stabilising the region Trump also destabilised the Israel region, by not inviting the Palestinians to his proposed peace plan, and moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, probably accelerating the 10/7 attack.

"USA is about 8.5x larger in population than Canada. Pee CTV News, in 2023, Canada had 778 homicides whereas USA had 19,252, approximately 25x more than Canada. In Canada there are many restrictions on guns. In USA there are practically none. So much for the 2nd Amendment." -

Donald Trump to Be Crowned Time Magazine’s ‘Person of the Year’ After Winning Back White House Having just won a second term in the White House four years after being ejected from it, Trump beat out his general election opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his own billionaire benefactor Elon Musk, and Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, to secure the title. He was named “Person of the Year” once before, in 2016. Per Politico, Trump will “celebrate the unveiling of the cover” by ringing “the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday morning.” In every election year since 2000, the winner of the presidential contest has been named “Person of the Year.” In 2020, Joe Biden shared the honor with Harris, his running mate.

Of course rape will enter the conversation. How else are MAGA hyenas supposed to get laid? -
Yes, it's time to stand up to the bully. History is not too kind to bootlickers, like Alberta premier Smith or Conservative leader PP, and others. Trudeau made a big mistake, when he flew to see Trump about the tariff threats. He played right into Trump's playbook. The Mexican PM handled it better. Trudeau really need to play hardball with Trump, or Canadians will find a leader who will. That was cringe. Trudeau is just making a bad situation worse.

That explains why Trump was so angered with Denmark that he cancelled a meeting with the Danish PM his last term, when Denmark said it had no intention of selling Greenland. This is not a joke. Trump, and some of his inner circle, would love to annex Canada. Probably due to our unlimited fresh water supply.

Ford threatens to cut off Ontario's energy supply to U.S. if Trump follows through on tariffs Ontario premier spoke after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Canada's premiers Wednesday Premier Doug Ford says Ontario could cut off energy to the U.S. if president-elect Donald Trump makes good on a threat to impose steep tariffs on Canadian goods. Ford told reporters at Queen's Park that federal Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland will put together a list of items upon which Canada could impose retaliatory tariffs and so will the Ontario government. "We will go to the full extent depending how far this goes. We will go to the extent of cutting off their energy, going down to Michigan, going down to New York State and over to Wisconsin. I don't want this to happen, but my number one job is to protect Ontario, Ontarians and Canadians as a whole since we're the largest province," Ford said. "Let's see what happens as we move forward. But we'll use every tool in our toolbox, including cutting them off energy that we're sending down there," he added. Ford and other provincial and territorial premiers met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau virtually on Wednesday to discuss a threat by Trump to impose 25 per cent tariffs on goods coming in from Canada unless the country improves security along the Canada-U.S. border. Canada has vowed to increase border security despite a lack of evidence for Trump's claims about illicit fentanyl pouring into the U.S. from Canada. source: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/doug-ford-ontario-premiers-meet-justin-trudeau-1.7407948 ----- This is a such a contrast from Alberta simping for Trump. I have new found respect for Ford.

The American economy improved under Biden, and the mythical "woke left."
