  1. I somehow doubt this. As explained to you a few days ago, Trump seriously entertained the idea of swapping out Puerto Rico to Denmark, in exchange for Greenland. Not taking Trump seriously, the Danish PM declined. Trump was so insulted, that he deliberately skipped a planned visited to Copenhagen, the Danish capital a few weeks later. Trump was legitimately pissed. Many Americans would love to get their hands on our natural resources. We have an abundance of oil, water, forestry, and mining. Much more than the United States. I would not dismiss Trump and Fox News repeated push to suggest annexing Canada as the "51st state" as merely a "joke." To Trump, the Greenland deal was no joke, so why should we dismiss this as a joke? It definitely will tank eventually. At least that is the opinion of two dozen Nobel prize winning economists. The last time leading countries followed the path of tariffs and protectionism, resulted in the Great Depression of the 1930s. Here is a quick look at the impact of tariffs on China, in Trump's first term: -Americans paid more for imports -manufacturing jobs did not come back to America -sectors targeted for retaliatory tariffs by China took a significant economic hit Tariffs of 25% on Canada and Mexico will be a death blow to all three countries, and can initiate the worst recession in nearly a century. There is a reason Trump never mentioned these tariffs during the election. He would have lost. https://hbr.org/2024/12/what-the-last-trump-tariffs-did-according-to-researchers Now you are making things up. There is literally zero chance the American public is mainly going to turn against Canada, consider the cultural and economic relationship the two countries have enjoyed for over 200 years, when tariffs are being imposed on China and Mexico as well.
  2. I don't know of too many people, who would consider becoming the 51st state, an "upgrade." In fact only 1 in 10 Canadians would be welcome to that idea. If he follows through with the tariffs, his popularity will dive to record lows, as the US economy will certainly tank. Aside from that, I still am unsure if Trump even knows how tariffs work. Americans are going to be more pissed off at having to pay more for pretty much everything. Sometimes words have no meaning, and are insignificant, especially if US home prices end up increasing by 25%, which may result in the housing market collapsing. Trump has not even been sworn in for his second term, and he is already backing off from election promises (reducing inflation and cost of groceries etc.).
  3. We were debating about who was responsible for the jurisdiction of the town of Jasper, you imbecile. You are a paid Russian shill, as many of us have discovered over the past year. I realised that as a Russian shill, you have lined your pockets with money to spread disinformation, and stuff your face, while betraying your country,
  4. Alberta does not have a border security problem. They pretty much have one main border crossing at Coutts, which has had virtually no problems with undocumented immigrants. The $29 million is a waste of money, for a problem that is primarily in Quebec, and a lesser extent in Manitoba and British Columbia. That is 408 times the amount that Trudeau spend on his trip. And unlike the 29 million, Trudeau was there on legitimate Canadian business. Aside from that, we know that the "illegal immigration/drug problem is a red herring, that Trump has just invented to justify ridiculous tariffs on Canada.
  5. Trudeau is a flake, but not a traitor. If anything, the fact that Poilievre refuses to obtain security clearance, suggests he has been compromised by foreign entities.
  6. I notice you now refer to Canadians as "them." How much is the Kremlin paying you off? At any rate, Sheer, O'Toole, and Poilievre are all poor candidates to run with, so that is on the Conservative Party for selecting unpopular candidates. By 2015, Canadians had enough of Harper, and wanted change.
  7. The Russians essentially want to divide us as Canadians and have been well documented in doing so, in America. Some of the narratives they push are; -Ukraine and NATO are responsible for the war with Russia -spread anti Ukraine sentiment -racism against immigrants -racism against people of colour, and other disadvantaged groups. -anti LGBTQ sentiment -pro Trump bias -weakening of national unity in Canada and other Western Nations It's clear that Russia and the influences that they have paid off have had tremendous success, in achieving their goals. As for this forum, there is evidence that at least a couple of accounts are acting in bad faith, sewing division in Canada. The issue, is to determine who is being paid off by Russia, and who has been legitimately brainwashed by Russian propaganda. If Russia is prepared to give Lauren Chen $100,000 per podcast, to spread Russian-based disinformation, and propaganda, I have absolutely no doubt that there are people on this forum who may have financial incentives to do so here. It was only 2 weeks ago where some supposed popular "Canadian" social media accounts such as Edmonton's Yegwave, and Toronto's 6ixBuzzTV were found to have originated from Russia.
  8. Meet the right-wing Canadian influencers accused of collaborating with an alleged Russian propaganda scheme Tenet Media founder Lauren Chen allegedly took funds from pro-Moscow outlet The social media accounts of two of Canada's most vocal far-right pundits have fallen unusually silent after U.S. officials accused them of being collaborators of a covert Russian propaganda campaign. On Wednesday, the U.S. Justice Department unsealed an indictment (new window) against two Russian nationals, accusing them of setting up a conservative media outlet as a front for pro-Kremlin propaganda. The media outlet was unnamed in the indictment (new window), but it was clear from details within that the charges referred to Tenet Media, founded in 2023 by the Canadian influencer known as Lauren Chen and her husband, Liam Donavan. Among the people they hired last year was Chen's longtime friend and occasional collaborator Lauren Southern, another Canadian far-right influencer with a massive social media following. In the few short months it operated, the outlet produced a steady stream of content favourable to Donald Trump, including an appearance by his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. Since the indictment was made public, several Tenet Media collaborators have come forward to claim they were unaware of how the company was funded. These allegations clearly show that I and other commentators were the victims of this scheme, Dave Rubin, a right-wing pundit with 2.45 million YouTube subscribers, wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. But Southern and Chen have yet to speak publicly. Reached by phone on Thursday, Chen told CBC News, We're not commenting at this time. Southern did not respond to email. Neither has posted anything online since the indictment was made public. Neither Chen, Donavan nor Southern are the subject of criminal charges, and none are named in the indictment. But the allegations have jeopardized their standing within right-wing circles. Chen has already been fired from another conservative website, Glenn Beck's The Blaze. Her YouTube channel, which had more than 572,000 subscribers, was terminated on Thursday. And her bio page on the website for Turning Points USA, a pro-Trump campus activist group, has been deleted. YouTube also removed Tenet Media's channel on Thursday, saying it violated our community guidelines. Russia accused of using influencers to meddle in the 2024 U.S. election Washington has accused Moscow of running a covert propaganda campaign to meddle in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, with documents revealing a connection to Canadian far-right influencers Lauren Chen and her husband, Liam Donovan. 'Broader conservative apparatus' Born in Quebec and raised in Hong Kong, Chen rose to fame as a YouTuber under the moniker Roaming Millennial. She was an outspoken supporter of Trump in the 2016 election and an eager soldier in the early years of the culture wars. She's situated as part of this broader conservative apparatus that seeks to instill social and cultural values that align with certain interests concerning anti-immigration, anti-LGBTQ rights and anti-feminism, said Eviane Leidig, who studied both Chen and Southern for her book Women of the Far Right, released last year. As her subscriber base grew into the hundreds of thousands, Chen began making appearances on popular conservative outlets such as Fox News and the Daily Wire. Content bankrolled by Russia 'not free speech,' says former FBI director Frank Figliuzzi, former assistant director for counterintelligence at the FBI, explains why it's important to take the Department of Justice's indictment of Russian sponsored media outlets seriously, even if you agree with those outlets' opinions. In the indictment, Chen appears to be referred to as Founder-1 and is said to have begun working for the parent company of RT — the Russian state-run news outlet — in the spring of 2021. RT was forced to stop operating in both the U.S. and Canada as part of government-imposed sanctions in response to Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine. But in the timeline laid out by U.S. officials, Founder-1 began recruiting conservative personalities with lucrative offers in 2023 for a new media outlet, all while being paid to do so by RT operatives. From the details provided in the indictment, Chen was allegedly billing RT in part through Roaming Millennial Inc., a company registered in the Montreal area, where her mother lived. Tenet Media was eventually registered in Tennessee as a subsidiary of Chen's Canadian company. When Tenet Media launched in November, the RT operatives are suspected of having directed the two founders how to cover certain stories and what content to circulate on social media. Among the examples listed in the indictment, the operatives instructed Chen to produce content that blamed the U.S. and Ukraine for the March 2024 terror attack in Moscow that was claimed by ISIS. Southern helped popularize extremist theory Since Tenet Media began publishing content, Southern has produced several videos for the outlet focusing on Canadian issues. Their titles range from Canada Is Becoming A COMMUNIST HELLHOLE, which compares Canada to the U.S.S.R., and Mean Tweets = Life in PRISON in Canada?! which criticizes the proposed Online Harms Act (new window). If you think naively that the Russians don't care as much about influencing Canadian thought, penetrating the Canadian government at all levels — I'm here to tell you they care deeply about shaping how you think, how you vote and sowing chaos and discord, said Richard Fadden, former director of CSIS.
  9. You trash Canada every chance you get. You are ashamed of your country, and openly side with a foreign entity, when there is a conflict. What is truly sad is you were in the military. I guess we should really look at vexing soldiers better. At any rate, I was born and raised in Canada, and I am a proud Canadian. I may disagree with what the Government is doing, but like every other great nation, I have the freedom to be critical of my leaders, without fear of reprisal. Unlike you, I am in the majority. Most people in Canada are proud of being Canadian. PS...the Alberta separation movement is a joke, and had virtually zero support. The Wexit Party went bankrupt in 2020, with no fanfare. Even Quebec separatism would fail, if a vote were held on this issue. I also have never seen anyone "taking a knee" during the Canadian national anthem. Perhaps you are thinking of the NFL?
  10. You are the biggest traitor to Canada that I have ever come across. Even when we are attacked on social media by the President-elect, you shamelessly side with America over your own country.
  11. This is not a new issue with Trump. Apparently producers of "The Apprentice" were well aware that Trump could not control his bowels, and had to wear diapers.
  12. Albertas Danielle Smith just announced that the government is going to spend $29 million on a border problem that does not exist here, and not a peep from the MAGA loons.
  13. lol....now tell me what you really think. You seem a little too attached to your Orange God.
  14. Apparently Trump has a new nickname, that World leaders call him behind his back: "smelly."
  15. You already watch gay porn all the time, so would it change anything if another leader replaced Trudeau?
  16. When I saw this video, I immediately thought of you, @CdnFox:
  17. Trump definitely will try to pull the US out of NATO. Well above 2% GDP for all NATO countries is ridiculous. The writing is on the wall, and NATO allies are better prepared to deal with belligerent nations (I.e. Russia) without the United States.
  18. Trump plans to pull America out of NATO.
  19. If @CdnFox had not written this, I would swear the post was satire.
  20. Peterson is an old man, who is irrelevant since he was exposed as a drug addict. He is following in the footsteps of Rush Limbaugh, who became nothing more than a footnote, after being exposed as a drug addicted hypocrite 20 years ago.
