I draw a distinction between Jon Stewart and Alex Jones. The comedic aspect to the Daily Show is front and center. The outrageous names of the "correspondents" and their being mostly hapless clues you in on this. Alex Jones... he is completely serious all of the time. Maybe some find his ultra-serious, yelling, screaming, red in the face antics funny. I see this and think, "he wants you to take him serious". Furthermore.. when he claims to bring on so-called experts and these experts are stone cold serious.. I do not see the comedy.

If it fits the case of libel and/or slander.. then let the courts decide it. If the hate speech does not contain any deliberately harmful messages about a group or person.. open the doors and let them say it. Folks should be free to look as stupid as they want to.
