Pro-Hamas Rallies in Canada
impartialobserver replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The entire saga of the middle east centers on the establishment of a Muslim caliphate. As for Isreal.. the conflict all starts with the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948. The grudges in the middle east run long and deep. When the state of Israel was formed in 1948... the majority of the population in that geography were what? Arabs/Berbers... who were mostly Muslim and had been since roughly 1200. This is why the conflict keeps going and will always continue. This is much the same as the Europeans coming to what is now called the US and forcing the natives off the land. Only difference is that the Palestinians (arabs/berbers) are better equipped. -
I have stated once already.. amnesia is such a bit__.. that I do not believe in human caused AGW. My point is that both sides commit the logical fallacy of thinking one data point tells the whole story. I wish there was global cooling.. that would mean more storms would get across the Sierra Nevadas and Western Nevada would get more snow. Yes, we get some but all in all.. we average 7.1 inches of precipitation. Global cooling would increase that number.

Being from the high desert.. I can see why this type of thinking would come about. Limited water, dry climate, rising populations, and high amounts of erosion from cattle eating the ground cover. However, a lot of other places can and do support cattle with none of the aforementioned issues; Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, South Dakota, amongst others. All in all.. not a terrible idea but as long as you give folks the choice of what to eat, you have to allow for the real thing to be produced and consumed.

Hmmm.. so by your logic, every criminal (every single one regardless of geography) who commits an armed robbery is set free with no questions asked. Well.. this just shows that you never leave your house. If I cherry picked the internet for examples... I could do what you did. However, arrest records and hard data debunk you. "Affect" and control are not the same.. I used to think that you are just playing stupid but alas.. you are the typical internet forum poster whose bias and lack of intellect preclude you from saying anything of value. -

Yes, the internet does give free distribution to every hair brained idea. As long as someone is willing to type it out.. it can be put online and ready to consume. Like all things.. it has pros and cons. More is not always better but who is to decide what information is better/more valid. Music is another avenue where the once exclusive club of recording artists has greatly expanded. Again.. not all music is great but that is up to the audience to discern. -

Hmmm... so when I look up the police arrest record for someone robbing a store and they do jail time.. what is your explanation? This is too easy. Can you step up your game. Your few cherry picked examples do not invalidate the norm. -

well.. anyways back to the point. Most folks are not interested in taking responsibility for their less than perfect outcomes. This is the new way. A store in xyzville gets robbed, it must be due to Biden and that only. The person robbing the store supposedly did not have any choice. -

From my experience.. most do blame the government. What's the first clue? They lead off with a whole story about how xyz was elected and that is why they have this problem or that problem. Online forum posters... are notorious for focusing on the president and having no intellect to consider other factors. The "other factors" demand that you are self aware and that is too much for most. I can guess from your posts that you think that graduate level economics is nothing but debating Karl marx or John Keynes. Little secret... It is nothing but math, statistics, and probability. The philosophical stuff gets left behind. -

yeah... and the material that we covered on day one would be so far above your intellect as to make it comical. You are the one who keeps countering my claim that I am mostly responsible for my success or failure. A logical person reads that and thinks, "he must disagree with that statement". Back to the point.. most folks today attribute the credit/blame for their own lives to politicians. Supposedly the one and only reason that they are poor is that society elected a certain President. Having been raised in poverty... there is so much more to it than that. -

"my success"... how can you take credit if the one and only factor is who is elected President? Yes, govt policies do affect the economy but that's not the point.. you know this. My point is that my success/failure is due mostly (not all) but lets repeat this.. mostly is due to my motivations, decisions, etc. Getting a phd in economics and suffering through grad school. That is my doing not government policy. -

wow.. so your choices and decisions are for nothing.. Your success or failure is tied 100% to whom society elects as President.. That's some good stuff. Not very Conservative though. -

100 years and we have only had the internet since roughly the mid - 90's. Unless you can show that we had public internet in 1971 or so. "review bombing" that you spoke of is purely an internet creation. Suing someone brings the state, city, county into the matter. This gives the defendant the perception of being ganged up on. What comes next? Oh.. that's right, the folks who support the defendant paint the picture of them being oppressed. Is this misrepresenting things? Oh yes. Nothing motivates or galvanizes a group more than a perceived attack. I would rather punish the baker with hitting him in the wallet. I have seen this approach work. What happened? The two businesses involved went away and the owner never resurfaced.. I have access to micro level qcew data and can look someone up by name, ssn, ui acct #, etc. -

But had the losing team played better in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter.. the need for the field goal would not be there. But to place the sole blame on the kicker... is just more binary thinking. The other 21 players on the field could have played better on the 90+ prior plays... when my one and only team in sports.. Boise State Broncos of college football lose, I do not blame the one play at the end. The missed FG by Kyle Brotzman in 2010 against Nevada would not have been needed had the OL blocked better and not made Kellen Moore throw to the 3rd and 4th options on his route tree in the 3rd and 4th quarter. -

much like the folks who say that the one and only reason that a team loses a game is the result of one play at the end. Narrowing it down to one play and therefore making binary (1 vs. 0, succeed vs. do not succeed) keeps it simple enough for their limited intellect. -

I will agree that he does impact the price but not completely. However, we leave out the factors all so conveniently.. as to why? Simple human nature. Keep it simple. -

to make the analogy one to one.. does knowing the results of a preseason NHL Game tell you who is going to win the Stanley Cup? I am the most casual of NHL fan (mostly due to lack of time to watch games) and was bummed to see the Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs get eliminated. Was thinking it would have been interesting to see WPG vs. TOR in the Stanley Cup Final -

Been to Moscow, ID a few times. I grew up in Boise. I detect that you have not been there or not for a long time and are relying on second hand media for this. This sounds a bit hyperbolic. The point being (interesting how you dodge this) is the reputational risk and damage is greater if you make it public than if you take legal action and therefore galvanize the opposition. I have seen the prior method work. -

No but the back story is not important. Knowing poll results in June does not help get a feel for who wins in November. This is like a preseason Ap top 25 in college football. -

Impacting something does not mean that someone has 100% control. Partially is not a synonym for completely. However, the POTUS is the most convenient target. FYI.. when you compare gas prices on first day in office versus last day... the gas price has risen during every President.. even Trump. If Trump had such control.. how could he let this happen? -

Maybe they would and maybe they would not. Either way, the current situation is unsustainable if someone truly wants peace. At present.. it is simply a matter of lather, rinse, and repeat.
