You expect me to buy into your doomsday, end of the world propaganda... errr... prediction. Well, I am not one to do so if you have not noticed. Have heard thousands of such predictions since the mid-80's and guess what? Maybe 1 or 2 have even came close to coming true. But yet.. your prediction is the first one after thousands of failed attempts that will get it right? Rational people do not think this way.

In short.. you are predicting something. And I am supposed to buy into it because you are so passionate. Predictions are not evidence.

So in short.. you have nothing that explicitly outlines widespread, general, social acceptance. The internet allows for this... truth hurts, I know. They are disgusting but you have not shown anything that comes even close to proving that society in general is ok with this.

I read some and they do not convey the message that pedophilia is a widely accepted practice in society. There is no legislation, data, or anything in your links. Back to the topic.. It is an arbitrary label and nothing else. If you dislike it so much.. most folks know how to mostly avoid it.

When I was in grad school, we had a cohort of 19 students... 15 of which were foreigners. The 4 American males (of which I was one of them) were out of our league honestly. We struggled mightily. The foreigners mostly breezed through the daunting math involved in differential equations, linear algebra, and multivariate calculus. If I was the OP... I would have spun this reality into a narrative about how there are too many foreigners and we should do something about this.

Your claim is that the left widely and generally accepts child molestation and sexual abuse. For you to definitively prove this... which you can't, you would provide more than just a few opinionated articles. The burden of proof would be hundreds of articles, legislation, scholarly journal articles, etc.

you must live in an alternate universe because I have yet to ever see/hear/read anyone be ok with the actions of a known pedophile. Child molestation and sexual abuse is universally reviled. Acknowledging that the predilection is deeply embedded in a person and can't be willed away is not excusing it... its called acknowledging reality. If anything it is some Conservatives who view females at age 14 or 15+ to not be children and so having sexual relations with them not being pedophilia.

It probably happened a few times especially in SF, Seattle, Portland, or NYC. As for all of them being pedophiles.. I have seen no hard data to back this up. Now, lets be clear hard data would be very difficult to get. This is names, addresses, medical diagnoses, arrest records, etc. Subjective articles are not sufficient so do not bother.

I would say that while this is well intentioned.. it is misplaced. Lowering a sentence from 15 years to 12 years as an example is fine but why not focus on preventing the crime altogether.

It was never zero.. It was just not in the media. Pre-internet, a lot of things occurred that never made the newspaper.

Private security is expensive and is open to more lawsuits that publicly funded police are. The folks will simply find another outlet for their retail needs errr.. shoplifting needs. A lot of retail outlets that are not wal-mart report higher amount of shoplifting.. it mostly comes down to stores not being able to really do anything other than call the police after the fact.

Strive for the best but not overreact to the relatively rare instances. There is no value in getting worked up because the the relative frequency is not 0. No reasonable amount of effort is going to lower this to 0 without other unintended consequences.

A lot of things should not happen anywhere but they do. Why? Humans are imperfect and enforcement is not absolute. No. However, here is where we differ. You think it is happening in every school in every town. All 24,000 K-12 schools are plagued by this exact scenario. My thought is that this is relatively rare and mostly contained to places like SF, Seattle, Portland that are liberal and have been for decades.

no, not always. There is nothing grand or revelatory about this. Children of drug addicts, alcoholics, narcissists, wife beaters frequently carry that behavior on forward. As for being the victim, nothing messes with you quite like that. For those who have not endured it... it is so easy to come forth. There are no consequences for accusing someone of this and not having videos of it with dates and times.
